Reminiscences.

For no reason at all,
Am thinking about you t’nite,
Thinking abeout what used to be us,
Thinking about what could have been

For no reason at all,
Am having reminiscences,
Of the nites we shared,
The dreams we dreamt,
The goals we could have achieved,

For no reason at all,
Am wishing we were still in the season,
When all I saw was the little joys of life,
The joys of the early morning rays of sunlight,
The bustle of the wind in the after-noons,
The light that the moon threads on our paths,
The enchantment of your innocent smile,

But alas! Its all a mirage,
because its never meant to be,
Wasn’t meant to share in your joy,
Neither where you meant to share in mine,

Twas like being a child with the wrong toy,
A king with the wrong kingdom,
A judge in the wrong court,
A husband with the wrong wife….
A wife with a gay husband…,

For no particular reason am reminiscing,
What we could have been…
The mistakes we could have corrected,
The words we shouldn’t have said…
The words we should have said…

But again it’s a futile act…
Cos you were a chapter that never should have been read….
