When you compare Obama's campaign strategy so far to McCains' it is quite clear that McCain does not even come close to getting his image out there and in front of the voters as much as Obama has. Now, as for why this does not seem to have worked well in Obama's favour, your guess is as good as mine. I do suspect that if it had been hillary running, the gap would probably be much wider than it is now. One would expect that after his trip to europe and then his many "great" speeches, he would have a clear lead over his opponent.

george washington, abi lincoln, JFK, john adams, harry truman etc great american presidents, were never governors.

bush snr was not a governor and he had great military judgement.

bush jnr was a gov, cater was a gov(?), no so good presidents.  what is this wahala about governors that makes them better prepared than anyone else. presidency is about judgement. obama has showed in recent times that he's got what it takes. take away his black skin and replace it with white skin and hillary would never have got I8 million votes (perhaps she'll get a few from people like kobo)

just for the records, i feel very uncomfortable when people talk about McCain's age in terms of life expectancy. how can people discuss if and when someone dies. while i loathe the republicans (i hate hillary clinton more though) i still do believe that they are human beings and as such it would be inhuman to discuss their death.

nobody knows tomorow. anyone can die anytime. age notwithstanding. and on a personal note,McCain is my father's age (may be why he supports him. dont care) and i cant imagine someone discussing my dad's death even in the next ten yrs. after all, who could tell that ohio congresswoman(and strong hillary supporter)  would die b4 the convention.
