Foreign AffairsRe: Zimbabwe Has Roads? by darfur(m): 7:49pm On Jun 28, 2008
mugabe is evil . . . i agree

but anybody here who is pretending that the western media does not "embellish" their presentation is a big time wanton fool for all i care.

i have met a parliamentarian who was elected as an independent representing a constituency somewhere near manchester(b/c he mentioned being alex ferguson's and man u's representative) for one term and served as a BBC foreign correspondent b4 his election and he stated that the problem he had with the BBC was that they deviated their focus from news reporting to 'imagery' of poverty in africa and western aid to alleviate poverty.

this was so annoying to him as the media became a propaganda tool.

yeah mugabe is evil, but let's not pretend that the western media is that great dude that reports objectively

that is a lie

Foreign AffairsRe: Nigerians Executed In Indonesia by darfur(m): 6:57pm On Jun 28, 2008
australian girl freed

nigerians executed. . .

someone said their offence is different, can the person show me the indonesian law(s) that says if the quantity is small or for personal use there will be different punishments? was the girl freed? or her sentence commuted? if she was freed good for her, but the naijans might have at least had their sentence reduced to life imprisonment.

well, it's all the same pattern. no disrespect for indonesian laws, but the pattern here may not really be about skin color but that of ''reasonable'' country vs 'yeye country' . xenophobia in SA attacked people from certain type of countries. hmmm

i'm not sure it is necessary for me to write about the culpability of the 2 guys. it is incontrovertible. no debate.

however i must note the difference in treatment based on the ''color'' of their passports. if we ''arrange'' our country well, we get better respect and when we beg for our citizens abroad, we may be listenned to.

advice to nigerians travelling. with your passport and skin color, you are already guilty of an imaginary offence. so we must go the extra mile to show we are honest travellers all the time.

may their souls rest in peace. and may other nigerians learn from their lesson

Foreign AffairsRe: Mugabeland by darfur(m): 5:10pm On Jun 26, 2008
davidylan:
Tsvangirai already won a rigged election. The fact that it took months to release the results of the general elections is an indication Mugabe lost by a much wider margin and the ZANU party were simply looking to exploit the less tha 50% votes won loophole.
off-topic

from the above statement, it means there was really an election in zimbabwe. this means they have done what nigeria could not do in 40yrs (ahaa we did it once on june 12, 93'. . . just once in 40yrs . . and it was annulled)

well, advice for mugabe . . . instead of harrasing opponents, just rig elections like PDP, i'm sure africans will prefer ''apparent stability under stolen mandate to gross social instability)

haba kobo, i congratulate you, you have succeeded in making me argue/gist/discuss with you after i said to myself no more.

pls kobo, good night (abi good day for US)

Foreign AffairsRe: Are Nigerians Really This Bad , That Other African Countries Want Us Out? by darfur(m): 5:14pm On Jun 23, 2008
i think the bottom line is that there is a very low level of patriotism in nigeria. we have to be nigerians who love their country first b4 we can trully put in our best for it. i go to different schools in london and i see students from s. africa, kenya , tanzania even uganda, they have their flags in their rooms, strongly identify with their country even somalis. but our some of our people no go even gree say dem be naijans grin grin grin

e go better one day hoha. but we must work now for the sake of the generations yet unborn. as for our generation . . . nnnnn . . . e don finish already sad
PoliticsRe: To The Appologist by darfur(m): 5:02pm On Jun 23, 2008
@texas

anyone who follows my posts will know i don't usually take sides. i hate double standards. i cannot exonerate our leadership in africa. . .and indeed our followership too, from the deplorable state of our motherland. but what i can't take is when somepeople defend western attrocities with such vigour as if the west is "innocent". kobojunkie defends the west like hell. may be not only him, but he is the one i noticed( i'm not usually online for more than 15 mins). his first attack on me was attrocious to say the least(may be why i always notice him) he went for the jugulars without even knowing me. his line. . . . .why have you not spoken out against african evils(not quoting him word for words but that was his attacking message) even my username did not tell him something about me.

i have crossed paths with friends and foes for my opinions. sometimes even painfully. . .especially when i told my igbo brothers that ojukwu was a big disaster in opting for war. i speak out against africans, why wont i speak out against the west, where i'm living now and feeling the pains? why should i defend them. even at that i have defended some western statements like the guy who said nigerians were untruthful. i defended him to the chagrin of my nairlanders. i have even once agreed albeit painfully with kobo

but i'm not a sworn defender of western diplomacy. . . i am darfur

PoliticsRe: If Nigeria Won't Honour Biafra's Dead, Why Aren't The S/eastern Governors? by darfur(m): 5:49pm On Jun 20, 2008
because the dead may have died for nothing. that is the reality of 90-99% of all wars. those who died, died for nothing. that war should never have been.

ojukwu should have used maximum diplomacy to get something for igbos when he had the advantage of potential international sympathy and massive military disadvantage

no sensible general would go into a battle with a massive military disadvantage.

it is foolhardiness

jump into the lagoon and swim directly to the ocean if possible.

get a whale to swallow you up like jonah

ask the whale to vommit you in the itu bridge if the whale doesnt digest you

take a walk from itu bridge thru the jungle.

turn right, walk left, look down and go up

ask a leopard to ferry you across the jungle. if he is not hungry enough to feed on you

you'll land right in front of your destination wink
