What's your evidence that one of the 4000 gods created by mankind (I don't know which one you confess to) created the universe? The burden is on you to prove it! Post a video of your god making a fly through it's metamorphosis. If you don't have a video pray for it to be brought to you by the angels. If you do I'll not only worship your god but put up a public apology for not believing in him.
This Post has challenged all atheist to come up with reasons why they dont believe in the existence of God. I am a Christian who strongly believe there is a supernatural God who is all wise and all knowing. Christianity EtcWhy Pope Benedict XVI Drank Alcohol With Friends by darichlife(op): 8:10pm On Apr 18, 2017
HE was regarded the first Pope to make his resignation intentions known to the cardinals due to “lack of strength of mind and body.” Pope Benedict XVI made this pronouncement on February 11, 2013, while the resignation proper occurred on February 28, 2013. Other popes before him either resigned or were forced to do so. These include Pope Gregory X11 (1415) and Pope Celestine V (1294).

Though retired, Pope Benedict is still referred to as His Holiness, as he keeps the designation of Pope and still wears the papal colour of white. On March 13, 2013, the current Pope Francis took over office from him, while he moved into the newly renovated monastery, Mater Ecclesiae, before his retirement on May 2, 2013.

Recently, Pope Benedict clocked 88, and to celebrate the occasion, Pope Emeritus organised a cocktail, where invited guests drank beer. This generated some controversy, as some people wondered whether this act is not in direct opposition to Biblical injunction on alcohol. Did they really stray from the Bible’s position on alcohol?

For instance, Leviticus 10:9, says, “Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations…”

Another portion of the Bible (Psalm 104:15) states “…and wine that maketh glad the heart of man…”

On his view on the issue, David John-Iheagwam, a worshipper with one of the largest Pentecostal churches in the country, said:

“I keep asking where in the scriptures it is said that a Christian cannot drink alcohol. But my pastor keeps referring me to the Old Testament, where it is said that you should give strong drink to those who want to die. And I asked him to show me the same thing in the New Testament, where it is stated. What did Jesus Christ say and do concerning alcohol? Jesus Christ drank wine in the Bible.

“The truth is that once church leaders take a particular position on an issue, they start looking for scriptures to back their position. Any scripture that does not support their position is deliberately ignored. They don’t refer to it. And so, if you belong to any of these denominations, you may not know that those aspects of the scripture exist.

“For instance, let me repeat what Jesus Christ said in Matthew 11:18: “For John (talking about John the Baptist) came neither eating nor drinking and they say he has a demon. But the Son of man came, eating and drinking and they say look at “a gluttonous man and winebibber” and elsewhere in Mark it says, “a glutton and drunkard”. Because John neither ate nor drank, what did the people say? “That the man was a demon, a possessed person. He was a mad man, as he didn’t eat, he didn’t drink. Jesus Christ came and was drinking with sinners. And what did they say? That He was a friend of sinners; that He was also a drunkard. Let me tell you, Jesus Christ’s goal was focused on winning souls and reconciling man back to God. He didn’t look down on anybody. If he went to a place, where people were drinking, He would sit with them. He ate and drank, but He was never drunk.

“If you are in doubt, please listen to this: when Apostle Paul was writing to the church in Corinth, he expressed his displeasure with the people there because they were getting drunk with the Communion wine and he cautioned them.

“And you discover that a lot of people like me that attend these churches drink. One of the things I’ve told myself is that I won’t pretend over something I do. There are some pastors and church members that drink secretly. Why should I take beer in the secret and come in the open to condemn it?

“For instance, if my pastor comes to my house and there is also another visitor, I would ask, “sir, what would you like to take? If he says water, I will give him that, and if he says beer and I have beer, I will offer it to him. However, the only thing is that you should never drink to the point of getting drunk. I like holding my own views on issues. And they know me in church that I am like that. I don’t hide my feelings. There are certain issues I don’t agree with the church, though I worship with them.

“What the Bible preaches is moderation; you can only abuse alcohol, when you take it excessively. Some churches believe this, while others are against it. In my church, they know that I don’t speak in tongues and I’m not going to pretend about it. I don’t believe it is compulsory for one to speak in tongues. If you read that scripture very well, it says that as the apostles were speaking in different languages, people around them heard these languages, but is it like that today? Why are those speaking in tongues today not readily understood by other members? If you are speaking in Efik or Ibibio, an Ibibio or Efik brother or sister should hear what you are saying, but it is not like that today. Let us be frank about it. If you speak in tongues and there is no interpreter, how do you edify the people because that is the purpose? The kind of speaking tongues I want are those spoken on the day of Pentecost. You speak a particular language, but you can neither understand nor interpret same; so edifying one another becomes a difficult task. It is better for me to pray in the language that I understand than confuse the congregation.

“That is one of the problems I have with Rev. Chris Okotie. He made a mistake, when he told the world that God told him he was going to be Nigeria’s President. If he had said that God told him that one day he would become president, it would have been better and face-saving. But he was specific and during the election, he got less than 50,000 votes and did not become president. We are now in 2016. So, the question I really ask is: Was it God that really spoke to him?

“Let me conclude with this: one day, something happened to me. I was in my room drinking beer, when one of my children came and said: “Daddy, don’t you want to go to heaven?” I didn’t answer him. Again, he said: “Daddy, you are drinking, don’t you want to go to heaven?” I just laughed over it and he left. Another day, he repeated the same thing: “Daddy, don’t you want to go to heaven?” Then I took time to explain things to him. I asked him: “Do they teach you in the church that a Christian shouldn’t drink beer?” He said ‘yes.’ So, I sat him down and lectured him on what the Bible says concerning alcohol. I told him that the Bible only says that a person shouldn’t get drunk and then asked him, ‘have you ever seen daddy getting drunk?’ He said ‘no’.

“Since then, you cannot tell him anything about beer. I have also made it known that drinking beer is not compulsory. I told him, ‘after all, your mom doesn’t drink; so it is not compulsory. You must not drink. But if you do, just don’t get drunk.’ I also told him that he must be an adult before he starts taking alcohol, if at all he wants to.

“So, let us give the people proper and accurate information. Even the normal food you take, do you know if you eat more than you are supposed to, you start experiencing constipation and things like that,” he queried.

What has a nutritionist and food technology expert, Mrs. Coker Dolapo, got to say about drinking of beer?

“Moderation is the watchword. Moderate intake of beer can positively impact the health and well-being of women.”

She added that though beer is an alcoholic beverage, but it can also be classified as food, because of its nutrient values. She listed these to include: carbohydrates such as dextrins and polysaccharides; proteins in the form of amino acids; load of vitamins comprising the B vitamins, vitamin C and folic acid, among others; such minerals as magnesium, potassium, silicon and selenium among others. Beer also contains such fibre as betaglucans among others.

RomanceWhy Couples Look Alike. by darichlife(op): 8:13pm On Apr 13, 2017
If you've ever noticed that some married couples look alike, you're not being creepy or wrong. This is a real thing, and there are good reasons for it.

And no, this isn't the same as people looking like their dogs.

According to a new study published on Thursday in PLOS Genetics, there's a simple reason for this phenomenon, and it's not as surprising as you might think.

Up until very recently, most people found their spouse in their local community - most likely at high school, church, or local events - and that person had the same basic ancestry. Many generations of this creates a genetic structure in the population, which means that marrying someone who looks like you has less to do with preference and more to do with shared ancestry.

However, while picking someone of similar ancestry was the norm for older generations, due to the increase of mobility in younger Americans, fewer people are marrying or partnering with someone from their hometown.

The researchers in the study explored genetic similarity between spouses from three generations of white people in the Framingham Heart Study, an ongoing examination of heart health in the residents of Framingham, Mass., which began in 1948. The researchers used geonomic data to define the ancestry of more than 800 pairs of spouses and observed that individuals of Northern European, Southern European, and Ashkenazi ancestry preferentially chose spouses of the same background. But they noted that each successive generation was less likely to choose a spouse with the same ancestry.

The findings from this study reflect demographic patterns and how they have changed during the past 60 years in Framingham and, theoretically, throughout the United States.

I have been wondering why some couples look alike for since 2001 i first saw my friends parents who were in their 50's-60's.
The first day i came to the house i saw the wife outside the compound, i greeted her and she sounded very lively and hospitable, though i was expecting older people to be friendly and warm but she seemed so excited to have seen me despite being the first time am meeting one on one with her. On getting to the living room i met the dad who looked exactly like the mum, he was so friendly and jovial offered me great hospitality and comfort. I inquired from my friend who is the woman outside? "He said she is my mum" I started asking him why is he lying to me. He said there is no reason, and he asked me why am doubting him? I plainly asked him how can your mum and dad look like twins? He laughed and said am not the first person to have said that. I was marveled and was still amazed by God's wonder. Do you have any Look alike couples? Please share your experience

Christianity EtcRELATIONSHIPS Vs Religion: by darichlife(op): 3:05pm On Apr 13, 2017
The Problem with Religions is every believes themselves to be right. Let's look at a Mythos-

(1) Egyptian Mythology

In Egyptian Mythos Isis and Osiris are lovers Betrayed by Ra the Sun God.

Thoth and Seshat who are Married. Although not much is written about Seshat, she is the Record Keeper, Builder, and Goddess of literature known as the Lady of the House of Books

(2) Greek Mythology

In Greek Zues and Hera are Married and considered the King and Queen of the Gods.

Persephone and Hades are Husband and Wife of the Underworld.

(3) Norse Mythology

Odin and Frigg are the Father and Queen of the Gods.

(4) Celtic Mythology

Days and Danu are known as the Father God and Mother Goddess. Danu is also known as Anu, & Don.

(5) Roman Mythology

Jupiter and Juno known as Great God & Queen of Gods.

Yet, the only Religions that only view the A-Sexual Creation Gods is Islamic, Hebrew, Jewish, & Judeo-Christians whose God is Male!

In every Religious Pantheon both Men and Female is Equal working Side by Side. Yet, in the Hebriatic Systems the Male is the Dominant Fact suppressing the Female.

Christianity Etc10 Reasons People Leave The Church by darichlife(op): 12:40am On Feb 12, 2017
Why do people leave church? This is the question I have heard discussed quite a bit recently (a discussion kicked off by Rachael Held Evans with her article “Why Millennials are Leaving the Church“) and a discussion which continues to flow throughout the blog world. I much appreciated Rachael’s thoughts on why Millennials, specifically, are leaving the church but feel the discussion she sparked is an important one which needs to continue. I’ve been receiving requests from readers to weigh in on this issue, and having given it a great deal of thought, am happy to offer my voice to this worthy discussion.

As I thought about my own opinion as to why people leave the church, it struck me that the actual reasons why people leave aren’t necessarily reasons that apply to one generation or the other. The issues that wound and tear a person down to the point that they walk out the door are typically issues that affect people from all generations and all walks of life. In fact, the reasons I have compiled are issues that led me to walk way from church as twenty-year-old, and still tempt me to walk out again some days– even though I’m not 20 anymore.

Whether you’ve always known what e-mail was, rode your big-wheel in the street without a helmet, can remember seeing ET in the theater, or did time in ‘Nam, here are the 10 reasons why people from all generations leave church:

10. People leave church when they can’t find community.

This is one of those reasons where it can serve as a reason why people come to church in the first place, and also becomes a reason why they leave– people want community. So many of us are tired of doing life on our own, tired of plastic American relationships, and are looking for deep, loyal, and authentic communal relationships. This should be a central goal of churches– building community. Why? Christianity was never meant to be lived out in the context of isolation, but rather in the context of community. When people can’t find community, can’t plug-in or access meaningful relationships, they split in hopes they’ll find it somewhere else. When a church learns to do community well, it is a life-giving experience. When churches fail to build community, church just becomes another item on your list that sucks the life out of you. I have experienced church both ways and can honestly say that I’m finished investing emotional energy into churches that don’t build a culture that values authentic community.

9. People leave church because they need less drama in their lives.

I don’t know about you, but my life always seems to have enough drama in it– I certainly don’t need anything that is going to add to the drama factor. So often, people seek out church because they need a reprieve, a refuge from the emotional drama of day to day living. However, far too often church relationships find a way to add to your drama. Now, I get that we’re all imperfect and that any group will have their own conflict, but some churches seem to do drama more than others. Our jobs, family dynamics and friendships provide us with enough opportunity to be gossiped about, back-stabbed, and pushed to the margins- we don’t need to add to that. Church needs to be a safe place where one can escape the typical relational drama we all face and instead experience loving support and acceptance. When church just becomes another area that is going to add drama to my life, I need to cut the cord and move on for my own sanity. Which leads me too…

8. People leave church because of unresolved conflict.

As mentioned above, any community is going to have conflict. However, a healthy and life-giving community is one that practices healthy conflict resolution in order to keep relationships safe and whole. Some churches do a fantastic job at helping individuals reconcile their differences in loving ways which deescalate and restore, while others have skewed ideas of what reconciliation looks like. Too often, wounded people are told, or are caused to feel, as if their emotional response to being wounded is somehow wrong or sinful. We can be encouraged to “forgive and forget”, “get over it”, or even told we have “no right to feel that way”. We fail to realize that wounded people need to have their feelings validated, and need to have a place to air their hurts in a way that causes them to feel heard. If we want people to stop leaving church, we need to develop radical humility and become the peacemakers that Jesus claimed would be blessed.

7. People leave church because of controlling leaders and unskilled teachers.

Leaders make or break an organization, and church is no different. When the pastor or church leader(s) come across as controlling (whether it is real or perceived) it creates an environment that doesn’t feel safe to people. No one wants to be controlled or dominated in church– not even the people who assimilate and eventually tolerate such environments. Instead, people want to feel heard and included in issues of decision making and long-term vision. Too often, it seems like the kids who are picked on in high school either become cops or pastors so that they can control other people- and they become increasingly intoxicated with their own perceived power. When people like me smell this, we bolt.

Likewise, you can have a church with a great community and a loving pastor– but a pastor who happens to be differently gifted outside the realm of preaching, and lose people. The longest 45 minute blocks in my life have been when I have been forced to sit and listen to a person fly the plane around the pulpit ten times, without ever landing. Bad preaching is miserable. If people feel like the preaching sucks, they’ll leave in search of something else. We need to make sure we place people in positions to serve in accordance with their abilities AND passions, not just their passions.

6. People leave church because they get turned off by social climbing, cliques, and nepotism.

Social climbing is simply how I would describe the phenomena where people have to acquire a certain amount of “social credit” with the people of influence before they can serve and be included. As a result, the popular folks at church amass followers, and power. Such a system requires you to play the “game” with people of influence if you want to be a fully included member of the group (leading to the formation of cliques). Some people, like me, refuse to do this in silent protest… instead believing that all people should be able to come together to experience God, equally. Nepotism goes along the same lines– we don’t want to see people elevated to their positions because they were of the right bloodline, or played the game with the right people– we want to see people elevated to positions simply on the basis of their skills, abilities, and calling.

5. People leave church when they feel like they need to become a carbon copy of an individual or ideal in order to be fully included and appreciated.

During the times when I have found myself church shopping online, one of the first things I look at is the church’s statement of faith. This isn’t so much because I care about what they believe (although, I obviously do) but because I want to know if I’m going to be required to be a detailed copy of everyone else to be accepted. When I see a ten-page statement of faith the spells out everything from “Who is God” to “Why we believe the rapture will happen next Tuesday”, it tells me that there will be no room for me to live, breathe, or be my own person– my acceptance will depend on whether or not I am a carbon copy of everyone else.

People want to be who God made them– they don’t want to be a carbon copy of who God made you. When we feel forced to fit into a predetermined mold as to what a member of this community must look like, we leave (or in my case, I don’t ever go to begin with).

Most people don’t want to be like everyone else, and when a certain culture tells them they must become a clone as a condition of acceptance, many will leave instead of submitting to such a dehumanizing experience.

4. People leave church because they are tired of being told how a “good Christian” will vote.

One of the most frustrating aspects of Evangelical Christianity is that it’s not so much of a faith tradition anymore, as it is a political movement. When I was in seminary I wrote frequently on this issue calling it the “deification of western values”, because Christian culture has picked a few hot-button political issues and married one’s political opinion on these issues to their faith. We are tired of this. All of us.

It is possible to sincerely love Jesus and still not vote for the Republican candidate. PLEASE stop making people feel like voting differently is somehow akin to apostasy. Jesus followers hold a wide array of political beliefs, and that’s okay– they’re just political beliefs… it’s not theology not matter how hard others want to make it theology.

The sooner we can embrace our political diversity, and end this unholy marriage with conservative politics, the sooner we can all start trying to follow Jesus, together.

3. People leave church because they’re looking for something authentic.

The word authentic means: “not false, but real… therefore reliable and trustworthy”. Ironically, I can think of no more authentic message than the loving and very real message of Jesus.

However, the way we often live that out is far from authentic. In scripture we see authenticity being something God loves; my favorite characters in the Bible are the people who were raw and who told God exactly what was on their mind, minus a filter. These are the people, such as David, whom God calls “friend”.

Yet, church often becomes a place where you want to be anything but real. It’s just not safe to do so- especially with people who are busy pretending they have it all together but still seem to have enough time to be your worst critic.

People want to do church with people who are real, people who aren’t afraid to be vulnerable in relationship, and who are willing to sit beside you in the messiness of life. When church feels fake and like it’s not a safe place to be vulnerable, people leave in hopes they’ll find someplace that is.

2. People leave church because they feel lonely.

As you look through items 10-3, imagine how it feels to experience the losing end of one of these issues (sadly, I don’t think many of you will have to imagine that). The feeling of being excluded, by definition, creates an intense loneliness. Being one of the only people living raw and authentically in a quest for community, is a lonely feeling. Being the one person who can’t, in good conscience, sign onto the same statement of faith that the group has, is a lonely feeling. Watching cliques form as an outsider, and watching people who rise to esteemed positions by way of church politics, is a lonely feeling.

People leave church because they start to feel like an outsider, and that makes them lonely. It is an emotion that is painful, powerful, and given enough time, unbearable. If leaving church is what’s needed to stop feeling so lonely and to stop feeling like an outsider– they’ll do it (and it would be the right decision).

1. People leave church when they don’t find Jesus.

This sounds silly on the surface, but it’s not. Church of all places should look like Jesus! Church should be a place where people are busy loving the unlovable, embracing the outcast, serving the widow, immigrant and fatherless. It should be a place where power is rejected, gender and race is irrelevant, and where the most coveted position is the position of servant.

I think we need to just start being honest with ourselves and admit that a lot of people reject our churches because they’re too interested in Jesus to accept a counterfeit version.

When I look at the story of Jesus, I am consistently moved by the way people were attracted to his personality. With the exception of religious conservatives, everyone longed to be around Jesus and went to great lengths and great risk to spend time with him. I am convinced that if we built loving communities of faith that were raw and authentic, that embraced the excluded, and were known by how well they loved others, there wouldn’t be an empty chair in the sanctuary.

Thanks for reading lets a good foundation for our kids for the light of Christ will forever shine.

So it was a boring Monday so my friend Udor called me to meet him at Panya street it was a chain beer parlours more than 20shops on one street. I came without having my morning bath, just brushed my teeth and just picked up a fancy dress and my three quarter chinos, picked a bike rushed down, a bottle of 2 bottled of squad 5 and 10 liters of palm wine is already on the table just 10:15 am in the morning. That's how we gulped the whole drinks till nothing remained, with 2 other hommies on the table. I normally listen to SugarBoy Holla Holla when drinking alcohol or Viktoh Ft Lil Kesh Skibi Dat as the vibes sends me to cloud 9 the feeling is more than having orgasm. We drank for 8hrs till Ikpa came around with a leather in his hands. The next thing I hear was, oboy na the dog meat be that, udor asked me softly with his drunk and scraggy voice if I will eat, I just nodded in affirmation.

Ipka later brought the meat with all pepper soup flavours, oboy the scent was irristible, he served everyone with a single plate to go round, oboy this meat make sense o, guy pepper de this tin, ahhhh, oboy chop am de go, wash am down with the pammy, I was just enjoying my music, the drink and the meat, I can't tell any difference between this meat and goat meat. It is wel cooked and taste great.

Cut a long story short I hurried home took my bath and went to bed by 8:20 pm. Then I started dreaming about dogs, it is either im talking with dogs or they want to stop me from passing their territory.

after I had this dream the first time never paid much attention to it, just could connect the lines, cos I have been dreaming of dogs for long, but not talking to them. No its occurring almost every time I dream I feel somehow empowered instead being scared,
sometimes dogs will be complaining to me about how humans are not feeding them well, the one that breaks my heart was a dogs that gives bet to five puppets within some months all her puppies would disappear, all she know is that her master has sold them all, after all her suffering she doesn't have any control over her puppies after giving birth to them once the buyers come they are gone. I just feel for her, others will complain of people not listening to them when they speak, why can't the humans hear us..

I don't know why but I just love the experience. Looking forward to eating dog meat again.
