I believe all states in Nigeria should pay the standard federal state allowance (unless your state decides to skim a little off the top). Your individual ppa pay may vary though.

Dude...you created a post asking for advise in a section where people can't comment. Na wah for you ooo..

Anyways...don't send that credit. Got exactly that some months ago from a friend. It turned out that it was a temporary hijack of her account and she was not even aware of it. I had to ask her a secret question that only her would know about our friendship and the hijacker disabled the account. Do no send the credit!!!

I tire O, ma guy nor know say Nigeria broke undecided

Anyways, thanks for the queries so far treated, I've benefited a thing or two from your responses. I've heard a few disturbing things about camp life, which I would love for you to either corroborate or dismiss as the case maybe.

First, is the feeding aspect. I am aware that meals will be served in camp, what I want to know however, is, who prepares these meals? I'm asking because somebody whispered to my hearing that, corp members do the cooking. If so, are certain persons assigned to do the cooking, and how can one evade being assigned to that task if possible? I'm asking because, as I dey so I nor fit cook shi shi and the last thing I want is for ppl to start cursing after eating what I partook in cooking.

Secondly, could you please help with a rough idea on the number of occupants usually assigned to a room? Hope say dem nor go sandwich us inside one room ni

sips kunu whilst patiently awaiting her response

Only kunu...zobo nko! Smh

Anyho...
CMs are divided into platoons. Each Platoon will be on duty everyday. If your platoon is on duty, some of you will be assigned kitchen duty. Those on kitchen duty only help in the kitchen and serving, they don't do the actual cooking. It's like a madam and her housegirl...so you are basically the house girl...lol

If you want to get out of that duty, join a really good group in camp (see previous posts for best groups to join), and use the group as an excuse not to do any platoon duties.

2ndly...in my time, there were 26people to a room. Yours could be more or less depending on the size of the room. Very little space though. Don't expect Four Points! Its only for 3wks so I'm sure you ll manage.

Any person with a functioning brain would know that anyone who displays most of these traits you mentioned isn't someone to consider marrying.

We don't necessarily need anyone one to lecture us on this or point it out to us. It's common sense.

You ll be surprised. You know what they say about girls and their love for 'bad' boys. A girl will see all these signs and still end up dating and even marrying the guy. He ll show her pepper and she ll say 'honey, you've changed'! He didn't change. Your eyes just opened!!!

Pls I have a very important question concerning my NYSC, I just clock 30 this year, I have 2 year extra delay in school, I should have serve since. So, my problem is now that have submitted my mobilization form and am 30 already, with my jamb number NYSC will detect am 30,pls how can I go about it, I still want to serve because I like it. Bro u can do me a favor by quoting me or sending the solution (if any) to krexdele@yahoo.co.uk.thanks

I'm sure you can serve if you really insist. NYSC just gives you the option of opting out if you received your first degree above 30.

I am in America now, and I have little to no info on what I'm supposed to be doing and how to serve. I don/t know how to register via my uni, or what these white shirts are for, or if there are rats in the camp and unsanitary situations that I don't think I would be able to handle.... I'm just kinda lost. I would also want to serve in a clinic/ hospital/ medically related area as opposed to teaching that it seems most corpers do. I just need general help biko

Find the batch (A,B, or C) you want to join...search Google for approx dates schedule. The dates are usually around the same time...give or take a couple of weeks. From that information you should also see dates of 'foreign graduate registration'. This will be around the time you need to start hovering over nysc website.

Constantly Check NYSC website for when foreign reg opens up for your batch.

Register online when open and scan all the required documents. You don't need to post anything to nysc directly.

When I did mine 2014, they gave me an interview date when I was to attend abuja to show them my physical docs. I am not sure if they still do this now...anyways follow their instructions.

When you eventually get your call up number and state, go to camp on the date shown on your call up information.

Reread camp requirements...read the internet...you woukd find the answer to all your questions. In camp you can only wear white top and white shorts for 3weeks hence the white tops. You need at least 6 white t shirts and 6 bottoms. Check previous posts for other requirements.

There are rats everywhere in Nigeria so expect to see Rats in camp although I didn't see any in Lagos camp.

If you truly want to serve then I'm afraid you have to brave the 'unsanitary' conditions. A bit of dettol and you are good to go!!! If you are a doctor, you are very likely to be posted to a medical ppa as doctors are in demand. They also get paid heaps and heaps by the state. They also work in camp clinics which means they pretty much dictate their own camp schedules. I think they get to choose their ppa...not sure. Its not that bad.

Only issue is 26 people to one room (Lagos camp) which was a bit strange at first but you soon get used to it as everyone is more or less in the same boat as you!!

Giddy up. It's not that bad aii. Goodluck!!!

You need your graduation certificate, statement of result and ID card. I don't know how it works for home students. I think y'all get a text or something with call up number and state of deployment. If in doubt, go to your nysc secretariat and find out.

Nairaland / General / Re: Safety Tips To Use Around Nigerian Policemen by Darkchocolate(f): 8:06pm On Dec 29, 2015
OP...You tell us in No 1 Never to run from a policeman. You then tell us in No 4 to "...take to your heels". Abeg isn't that running?

Which one should we take now as advise?? Smh angry undecided grin

sketcherJ:
Police is our friend at least that is what they say, but we have come to question this statement now and often due to the nefarious and unwholesome activities of some bad eggs in the police force, these are some good tips for you to make sure you don't encounter or be a victim of these bad activities

1. Never run away from a policeman : Never run from a Nigerian policeman, whether you are innocent or guilty or you are automatically signing your death warrant, in many European countries, their police force are equipped with tasers and stun guns to use on running criminals or offenders, but the case is not so in Nigeria, where the policemen only have loaded guns with no safety catch,.
some policemen are too lazy to chase criminals, they just let the velocity of their bullets do the running business.

2. Give them their dues : whenever you meet police men at checkpoints , and they ask you for money whether legally or illegally. Please give them, don't try to be the know it all or try to be one who is current in law matters, this might sound stupid but remember you are doing this for your life and the passengers you have in your care, we have heard and seen cases of drivers refusing to give policemen their dues and their passengers suffered dearly for it.

3. Don't joke or argue with a drunk policeman ; whenever you are at a bar and you see drunk policemen with guns. It is better for you to leave the bar club or joint discreetly ,but if you must stay, avoid the policemen like fleas and don't draw too much attention to yourself, drunk policemen are just like time bombs waiting to explode. Don't joke with them, because in their drunken state, they might not able to get the meaning of your jokes well , a drunk civilian can cause havoc not to talk of a drunk policeman with a loaded gun.

4. Watch the signs ; whenever you find yourself around a policeman with a gun whether drunken or sober, always watch for any hostility signs in them , especially when a policeman start talking about killing.e.g I feel like killing somebody today, I will shoot you, if you try me, I will show you pepper etc.. Don't wait to see if the policeman is actually bluffing, take to your heels .

5. Be cautious or avoid areas where a policeman had recently been injured or beaten : when you hear or you actually see a policeman being beaten in an area, please avoid going to the area for some time, because the policemen will come for their revenge and they either they do it directly or indirectly.. Directly ( by shooting at or battering some marked men at the area) indirectly ( by arresting the residents of the area and charging them with numerous framed offences)

6. Avoid confrontations with policemen during protest : avoid daring confrontations with policemen during protests whether peaceful or not, even if you are doing it for a just cause, don't throw stones, pure water etc at them, even if you are in the company of your friends , in a crowd or public gathering, remember a bullet has no person's name on it , in a crowd...it could hit you , or anybody close to you.

It's interesting how women always expect Utopia grade propriety from guys. Are women not the worst offenders at ignoring male attempts at communication?

One of the frustrations guys whine about here, on this forum, is how girls respond to their chat attempts with "K".

Maybe "O" is really expensive in the market these days grin.

This is the real world, and no one really anyone infatuated with them 'niceness'. A 17/18 year old girl is not a baby anymore. 17/18 is freshman/sophomore year at the University.

You can take it to the bank that there were other guys she blanked because she found them less thrilling than the 'governor's' son.

And they didn't 'date', they fvcked. And you don't need a divorce to end that one.

In fact what's a better tell to gerrara here than your fuckbuddy banging other girls and throwing it in your face, then being unresponsive?

I can bet you that this was just another day at the office for this Mustapha, abi Muhammed guy. Girls tripping for the thrills and wanting more.

It's fvcked to accuse someone of rape because they didn't return your affections.

I totally understand but did she know she was just a Bedwarmer (or carwarmer) ...there s no denying they were in some form of relationship. There s no denying he had absolute control. There s no denying that 17 is or was still underage (college graduate or not)...anyways we ll wait and see the conclusion.
