On another dimension, i haven't seen pictures of Army SSC cadets online or anywhere. Even SSC officers, i haven't seen pics of them yet, most officers are RC ex-boys.

Anyone with SSC cadet/officer pics should share.
CareerRe: Difference Between Computer Science And Computer Engineering Course? by darkhorizon: 4:12pm On Apr 03, 2017
OP since you are going for a first degree(Bsc) i will advice you apply for a field which is broad.
I will recommend Electrical Engineering or Physics, since i can sense that your choice for CE and CS is actually from a love for Electronics.

You can learn programming as a hobby. Moreover, programming these days is not restricted to any particular field.

Also, don't be surprised that at the end of studying these courses( EE or Physics) ,your interest might shift from Electronics and it's derivatives to Energy , Photonics, Telecommunication etc... or might still stay with Electronics, who knows?

And EE or Physics actually prepares you for these various fields which you can later go into during your PG.
Good Luck. Cheers.

PROPHETmichael:
In summary, if you love mathematics, go for computer Engineering but if you're only good at basic math then Computer science is for you.

Computer Engineering will earn you B.Eng. (Bachelor of Engineering) a first university degree in engineering.
Computer Science will earn you BSc (Bachelor of Science).
You made no sense with your first statement, CS is actually a branch of Mathematics

phosky:
UNIILORIN PARTNERS US COMPANY TO BUILD $1.5BN SOLAR ENERGY PLANT – VC
source: http://www.eyesoflagos.com/2017/03/uniilorin-partners-us-company-to-build.html

The University of Ilorin is partnering with a U.S company to build a 500 megawatts solar energy plant as part of efforts to tackle the challenge of power supply in Nigeria.
AbdulGaniyu Ambali, the institution’s Vice-Chancellor, disclosed this while speaking at the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, forum in Abuja on Sunday.
“The 500 megawatts is too much for the university alone to utilise; in fact, we in the university require just a maximum of four megawatts.
“Which means the extra 496 megawatts would have to be given to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, either the immediate community or nationwide. I think that is what is being processed.
“We have had talks with various stakeholders who are going to be party to the consumption and payment of the 496 megawatts because the project is going to cost about 1.5 billion dollars.
“It is a heavy investment. Which means the company that is going to bring the 1.5 billion dollars, has to be convinced that it will recoup its investment.
“They (company) have made tremendous progress, they have talked to the government, they are talking with agencies of government and by the time they harmonise all these products of their discussion, I am sure they will take off and the government and Nigeria will now be the overall beneficiary of all those efforts.’’
Brain Travis, Managing Director of the American company, said the selection of Uni-Ilorin as its partner was because the university had many reliable innovative projects.
Mr. Travis, who described the project as the largest solar plant in Africa, said it would help empower the locals in terms of employment and training.
“Most of us probably know there are difficulties with the whole power system in Nigeria. We will all like to have stable power.
“We also are going to not sell into the national grid but try to solve the problem by entering into direct contract with Discos; because of the location of Ilorin, we have direct access to six district discos up and down the coast.
“Each of those discos is determining how much of the power they want; they determine when they need the power, how they need it and how they are going to sell it.
“So we will be effectively dealing with the people who need the power. So that we do not have the supply chain issues that exists now and that is the reason we are doing the solar project here. It has got good solar radiation.
“We have an excellent host; you heard about the innovative projects of the Vice-Chancellor and it’s that spirit that allows us to come in and negotiate for a significant piece of property.
“Also there is an obligation I understand from the university to help the local community. So we are going to be hiring local people as contractors as well as training local people in solar and renewable.”
He said the project would be completed in 18 months.
Better by far.

We lead, they follow

Hello Nigerians from the depth of my heart i need sincere truth, before i register for jamb.

I love teaching and i would like to study BSc(ED) Physics so as to work as to be a lecturer or work in other firms. But there is a problem here, my father and his brothers say i will be in abject poverty in the future to come, and tells me to go for elect elect which i like but i don't want to go for, they say am a fool, stupid and all sort of discouraging words.

They say that elect elect will give me some way out even though there is no job available and with education i will be useless, they say it with boldness, shouting loud, i can hear them clearly in my head.

ok now am deciding to go for chemical engineering if actually education is not encouraging,
although i know where a chemical engineer and elect elect engineer will get job career oppurtunity

now please which is better?

physics education or Chemical Engineering Or Elect Elect

or if you know any course that is good please let me know.

My subject combinations are

English

Mathematics

Chemistry

Physics

Thank You All
Chose Bsc Physics instead, you get to do most of Elect Eng work, and also do a great deal of Physics. Personally,i won't advice you to do Physics education, because it is meant for training secondary school physics teachers, not Lecturers.
All the best.

Anyway, ccontinue but for your info. Science Education is an application of science to education, the reason they write projects on education while other sciences only apply to Physical sciences.
Is this not what I have been saying since the beginning of this argument.

What position do they hold in the industry/ what type of industry are you talking about here. Moreover we are in a lawless country where anyone with good connections can get to work anywhere.

Hahaha my lecturers?? I can remember back in school ,they used to call Bsc(Ed) students "our secondary school teachers" . So I don't need any further clarifications.

Imagine! And u use ur SCHL to generalize? I am telling u what is obtainable with Bsc. Ed. Cert and u're arguing even when u don't have type of cert. Anyway, ccontinue but for your info. Science Education is an application of science to education, the reason they write projects on education while other sciences only apply to Physical sciences. Believe it or not, someone with BSc. Ed. is at advantage over those with only BSc. I have friends we graduated 2gether working in industries but u wouldn't believe because I've programmed itself that way. Maybe when u get out of ur schl, u'll learn better. Better still, consult ur lecturers for more clarifications.
You are not making any sense with your arguments, how are they better than Bsc students, and since you said you offered all the Bsc courses, tell me how you managed to do that without exceeding your maximum allowed credit, and that in the span of just 4 years.
EducationRe: [help] B.Sc, B.Sc(ED) And B.ED certificate discrimination in Nigeria by darkhorizon: 10:43pm On Mar 22, 2017
@Livebygrace

Finally let me layout the structure of Bsc. and Bsc(Ed) in my discipline(Physics) for my university.
100 level: Bsc(Ed) and Bsc students offer the same core courses in Physics/ Math, infact we did all the math courses of 100 level.
Total number of physics courses done:6 for both Bsc and Bsc(Ed) students

200 level:Bsc(Ed) and Bsc students offer the same core courses, only that electives were chosen from faculty of education for Bsc(Ed) students, and electives from faculty of physical sciences for Bsc students.
Total number of physics courses done:7 for both Bsc and Bsc(Ed) students

300 level(The difference begin here): Bsc students offer all core physics courses, which is 12 in total and also 3 required courses from math( completing the maximum allowed credit of 48). While Bsc(Ed) students offer just 6 out of the twelve completing their credits in courses of the faculty of education.
Total number of physics courses done:12 for Bsc students and 6 for Bsc(Ed) students

400 level: Out of 35 physics courses to chose from,Bsc students are required to select a minimum of 14 courses for the session. While only 11 of the 35 courses is available to Bsc(Ed) students to choose from.
And they are allowed to choose between 5 and 6 completing their remaining credit at the faculty of Education.
Total number of physics courses done:14-16 for both Bsc students 5-6 for Bsc(Ed) students.

So from this analysis, you can see that we didn't do the same number of physics courses throughout our stay in the university. And mind you,i can confidently say that I did 50-60% of Bsc Math entire coursework but still I can't outrightly say I am equal and superior to Bsc Math students/graduates. Bsc Math students only did 4 Physics courses in 100 level and that's all.

And moreover Project topics in Bsc and Bsc(Ed) is a clear indication that they are not the same.

In Bsc Physics for example, your project might have you researching on latest cutting edge technologies, fabricating stuffs,or do a pure mathematical analysis of a physical system.

While in Bsc(Ed) Physics your project might have you researching on how to improve the standard of teaching Physics at the secondary school level, or taking about how the teaching of specific areas of Physics will benefit the society at large. And so on.
