I just checked my account balance via Ecobank mobile banking app and saw that July salary has been paid today.
Ecobank, RSSSSB Gokana LGA.

The answer is yes, also remember to upload your RVSG ID card, in place of valid ID card.

There is also incident form to fill, for those their date and month of birth was not properly enter, but it will be resolve within 30 minutes to an hour.

For instance 04 Feb 2018. (04/02/2018) some entered it as 02/04/2018.(meaning 02 April 2018)

This is also applicable to assumption of duty date.

I have asked a Principal in Khana LGA who has done his biometric exercise last week and he said that bvn printout is not one of the mandatory requirements. He said that the basic requirements are letter of first appointment, letter of confirmation, declaration of age, and first school leaving certificate. He also said that the 13000 newly employed teachers are not subjected to rigorous scrutiny except they suspect some discrepancies in your date of birth.

Those of us in Senior Secondary Schools Board who have done their biometric exercise should please confirm if letter of assumption of duty was requested in place of letter of present posting. It's very urgent and a prompt response is needed. Thanks.

I just checked via my mobile banking app and saw that Ecobank has done the needful for February salary. I just received the alert but I don't know the exact time because my battery was drained and I just charged it now. I am laughing like Purity but from RSSSSB, Gokana LGA.

No cause for alarm yet. I was at the Office of the SSA to the Honourable Commissioner for Finance last week Monday and I noticed that work was in progress for February salary. Even the DFS in Rivers State Sports Council submitted some paperwork for payment but the SSA told him to hold on that it will be processed with March salary. Una blood too hot for salary alert like say na sand we bin dey chop before this Amaechi job show appearance. Hahahaha..... make nobody take am personally with me. I just dey lighten the tense atmosphere.

A teacher in Senior Secondary section of C.S.S. Luawii called me and asked if I have received December salary as Ecobank has not credited his account yet. I'm still amazed with the manner Ecobank paid December salary. I even confirmed from my source at Ministry of Finance today and he said that Rivers State Government has already released December salary to Zenith Bank since last week Tuesday as I earlier informed the house last week. He said that his wife who is an old civil servant working at the State Secretariat is also affected as her salary account is Ecobank. He said that the problem is not from the government but from Ecobank and I should have patience while the bank resolves it.
I have also contacted some newly employed teachers in Senior Secondary in Khana LGA and they stated that their salary account is Union Bank and that they have received December salary since last week Thursday. Maybe the Senior Secondary teachers in Khana LGA using Ecobank that you are referring to are old teachers.

Am equally affected. Funny enough, some teachers in khana LGA using ecobank got alert on Saturday last week which wasn't a work-day.

Are the teachers in Khana LGA that received salary alert on Saturday in UBE or Senior Secondary? Are they newly employed teachers or old teachers?

My reliable source in Ministry of Finance told me that he is not aware of any 13 months salary or Christmas bonus. I didn't ask about February/March 2016 salary arrears as he already knows that I am not affected. As for the salary arrears owed by Amaechi's government, he said nothing has been said about that on a general scale and that if arrears will be paid, it will be that of February and March 2016. But from what the NUT State Officer who acted as returning officer during NUT elections in Gokana said last Thursday, the February and March 2016 arrears will be tied down to the current biometric exercise unless the Governor changes his mind.

Information from my reliable source in Ministry of Finance is that Rivers State Government has paid salary today. That means that Zenith Bank has received the cheque today and will start further distribution to other Banks.

Dear thirteen thousand newly employed teachers, it is high time we start thinking of advocating for our welfare as far as this job is concerned. Whether we like it or not, for now we are teachers and are paid based on Teachers Salary Scale (TSS) irrespective of our qualifications. As far as I am concerned, the Rivers State Wing of Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) are not representing our collective interests.

(1) Our salaries are deducted without notifying us of what the deductions are for.
(2) National Housing Fund (NHF) contributions are deducted from our salaries monthly yet our employer has not given us NHF registration forms to fill and submit to the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria. How can our contributions be remitted by our employer to Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria when we don't even have accounts with them.
(3) Income tax is deducted from our salaries monthly yet our employer has not given us tax returns forms to fill and submit to Rivers State Internal Revenue Service. How do we know that our employer is remitting our tax returns?
(4) Contributory pension is deducted from our salaries monthly yet our employer has not paid their own half of the monthly Contributory pension.
(5) Since we were employed in 2013 till date, our step has not increased.

In spite of all the above listed shortcomings, Rivers​ State Wing of Nigeria Union of Teachers collects union dues monthly from our salaries. They are not concerned about our welfare and conditions of service. They are only concerned about sharing the rebate given to them when our monthly union dues are deducted from our salaries. This is a clarion call for the way forward. It is high time we have our representation in the next executives​ of NUT. We can only achieve this by actively mobilizing and participating in the next NUT elections at both State Wing and LGA levels. We have the majority population to vote in any of our colleagues who contests for any position. The way forward is to unite and have a common front. Thanks for taking time to read this clarion call. February 2017 salary alert received at exactly 5:27pm. ECOBANK, RSSSSB, Gokana LGA. No deductions except contributory pension. Yet to receive refund of the wrong deduction from my January salary.

Its not pension at all , pension has always been deducted since you started this job. Your salary 65k 67k etc is after every deduction has been from it including pension ok !

On the contrary, deduction of contributory pension from new teachers' salaries started from November 2016 salary and is being done in batches. I am on salary grade level 8 step 3 and my contributory pension is #3420.84 monthly. The #3000 which has been deducted periodically is Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) yearly membership dues which is a fraud because most of us are not yet registered with TRCN. I learnt that this compulsory membership dues was initiated during former Gov. Amaechi's tenure and has been carried forward to this present dispensation. It is high time we, new teachers start attending NUT meetings at all levels and register our complaints officially before our whole salaries are deducted under different guises.

Which school are you and is it Senior Secondary or UBE? I learnt that we were supposed to fill that form from Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria when we were employed including income tax returns form. We really have to wake up from our slumber. It was only my first salary paid in April 2014 that National Housing Fund (NHF) contribution was not deducted from. All subsequent salaries, including arrears, NHF contribution was deducted and yet I haven't filled the form. How do I even know if my contributions are remitted to Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria? I have made up my mind to go to the Port Harcourt branch of Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria and also go to Rivers State Internal Revenue Service office and fill my forms myself and also inquire if my NHF contributions and income tax returns are remitted to them respectively.

Did your Principal ask you to pay any money for collection of your confirmation letter? Gokana LGA Zonal Director is collecting #200 for issuance of confirmation letter.

We were told in school a day before yesterday during our school emergency meeting, from the report of those who attended NUT meeting, that our confirmation letters are ready for collection , we were ask to visit the state board individually for collection.

Is your school UBE or Senior Secondary?

My source in ICT in Ministry of Finance said the loan deductions were made based on the list that Credit Direct Ltd aka Sharp Sharp submitted to them. But when I went to Sharp Sharp office yesterday, they denied being aware of the deductions after loans have been fully settled since two years ago. They refused printing out schedule of loan payment for those whose salaries were wrongly deducted. My advice for those affected is to insist that they print schedule of loan payment with their official letterhead. That is the real proof of loan settlement. Credit Direct Ltd are the only ones who can instruct Ministry of Finance to stop the illegal deductions. You can call their head office in Lagos on 014482225. Follow the voice prompt and select the option to speak with an agent. Lay your complaint to the agent and tell them they refused to print schedule of loan payment. When they checked my loan account in Lagos, they said I am owing one more month after the illegal deduction in my January salary. I told the agent that when they checked my loan account in the Port Harcourt office, it was confirmed that it was a wrong deduction. At that point, she said maybe it has not been fully updated from the Port Harcourt office and that she will call me back. I haven't heard from her since yesterday afternoon.

I just received April salary alert at exactly 10:55am from Ecobank, Gokana LGA, Senior Secondary Schools Board. This has confirmed the info my uncle at the Ministry of Finance gave me yesterday when I complained that I was paid only May salary. Let's expect October very soon.

A friend of mine that is with Eco this Morning called that he just recieved one month.

Which month did your friend receive and which LGA is that your friend teaching?

I called my uncle who is a senior officer in the Ministry of Finance and complained to him that I was paid only May salary. He told me to expect another alert for April salary and if I do not receive it, I should go to my bank and request for my statement of account and come with it to the Ministry of Finance and lodge a formal complaint. He said that it was April and May salaries that was paid and that October salary has not been paid. I thought it wise to share this info here. When you are not informed, you are deformed.

I just received alert for May salary at exactly 5:38pm by Ecobank. Gokana LGA RSSSSB. I don't know why they didn't pay me April salary arrears before paying May salary arrears. My God will not allow anybody swallow my hard earned money.

I don't post information that I'm not sure of. The same person who told me that our two months arrears was diverted to pay pensioners two months arrears was the same person who told me to relax after we were paid September salary that we will be paid two months arrears. I went to Ministry of Finance last week Wednesday to Ministry of Finance see him personally and he told me to relax and wait for the two months arrears. It is this morning that he told me the true position of things. If u like, believe it or not, my father is the mentor of the person who gives me info and he has never given me false info. We should be thinking of ways to stop NUT from deducting union dues from our salary because it is our union dues that they share every month as rebate. I am speaking from a very informed source. My maternal aunt is the NUT Treasurer in my LGA. A word is enough for the wise. I will stop giving confidential update because many people here are not aluta conscious and that's why we are suffering. We don't need Rivers State NUT Chairman's approval to enforce strike when he has already been compromised.

I have called him this morning and he said the money that was approved to pay us two months arrears was diverted to pay pensioners. My own strike has already begun. Right now, I'm preparing my CV for submission in a private firm.

I also forgot to state that NUT Chairman informed teachers present in the meeting that Rivers State Government was insisting that teachers should undergo another audit exercise to ascertain their exact number but the NUT Chairman informed teachers present in the meeting that no teacher will go for any audit exercise as we all did the almighty biometric exercise like other civil servants. He insisted that we should be paid our outstanding salary arrears. He said that Rivers State Government wants to use that as a delay tactics and that teachers will resist it.

I just spoke with my aunt who attended the NUT meeting yesterday. She said the State Chairman asked teachers not to embark on industrial action and teachers present in the meeting became angry and informed him that a teacher just died the previous day from illness because there was no money for his treatment and that their children have stopped schooling. In the midst of the chaos, the Rivers State Accountant General called the NUT Chairman who now put his phone on loudspeaker for all to listen. The Accountant General apologized for not picking the NUT Chairman's calls or replying his texts. He also apologized for not paying the 2 months arrears this week because he wasn't in Rivers State but they will pay us the 2 months arrears next week. Teachers present agreed to give them only next week before embarking on industrial action and that the strike will involve all teachers whether paid or unpaid.

Has anyone heard the details of the meeting NUT held today?

I called a reliable source (a family friend) who is a senior staff in the ministry of finance yesterday evening and asked if it is true that Governor Wike refused to approve payment of our salary arrears. He asked me if I've received September salary and I answered yes. He told me that Governor Wike was not the person who went on air and said he that he is not owing any teachers salary. He told me that more two months arrears are coming and that I should relax. The person who gave me this info is more or less like an uncle to me since the death of my parents and believe he will not lie to me.

I called one of my father's boy who is a senior accountant in the Ministry of Finance yesterday and he said salaries will be paid next week unless they hear otherwise from the Governor between yesterday and Friday. My Zonal Director also told me yesterday evening that we shouldn't expect salary this week but we will be paid three months salary next week. I thought it wise to share this information in this forum.
