You can’t use it, you need savings account. Business account is normally use to support application as source of income if self-employed, you have to get a savings account and be paying yourself salary and put your disposable income into your savings account for 6months, then you submit both your business and savings accounts

My sponsors documents are legit.. he's Spanish citizen and has been in the UK since 7years.

On my end.. I saw school receipts, medical certificate, bank statement, birth certificate in my name.. for god's sake I legitly have all these documents.

I didn't even know a visa was in process for me.
I was just called 2days to the appointment date to travel down to Lagos from the east to attend the interview..

Most people got bank statement but the question is it suitable to use it to apply for visa, reason agent always forge one for applicant.

If you only saw those docs on your appointment date, means you did not give them to the agent, the agent forget all docs on your behalf through your passport date page you sent to them.

Get the copy of your application and docs the agent submitted for u, let’s see what he or she input there and used. Gurus here can help you further so that you don’t complicate your next application.

Hey guys.. been a passive reader here.. I have a uncle in the UK that's willing to sponsor me over.. he asked that a scan my passport l, I did and sent to him.

He used an agent for everything and I had no clue at all. Was just sent my appointment booking slip which I used for my biometrics about three weeks ago..

At TLS, This agent denied me access to the documents I'd be taking inside till the very minute I was ready to go in.. was surprised to see almost all documents falsified in my name.. bank statement, school receipt, etc..

my uncle was sponsoring me over as a son, I didn't know this as well. When I saw this on the documents I had some concerns because we do not even bear same surname.. I felt this could be an issue.

Well, I picked up my application response this morning and It was a denial ..on the ground that there's no evidence to show that my sponsor is really my dad..

And ofcos it's stated there that I have no reason to appeal..

Just want to seek advice in what to do from here??

First thank God and go for thanksgiving in church that you aint caught by the ECO regarding all the fake docs they submitted on your behalf, if caught you would have been banned for 10yrs.

All information submitted for u has been recorded, you can’t just make fresh application to state otherwise now.

Also the ECO not satisfied with your sponsor relationship with you, the point is if you reapply what docs do you wanna submit, same fake docs with agent? I guess your sponsor or you don’t have genuine original docs to support your application, reason they forged all for u. Coz if you did there won’t be point to forge anything.

Don’t try to forge anything especially bank statement coz you may not be lucky next time.

I applied for visiting visa for a week, I did Biometrics on January 15.
I submitted 2 bank statements Gtbank (Person account) with closing balance of 2.9M and Fcmb (Business account) with closing balance of 900k
But UK denial me

They said I submit a first bank statement of account which I don't even have one

NOTE: An Agent apply for me and he said he submit correct documents

1....I'm just confused, is it possible for UK Embassy to make such mistake.
2.... Hope I doesn't affect my application in the future
3.... What did I need to do now

Did you collect copy of your application from the agent, also did the agent help you submit bank statement or you printed it out yourself and gave it to the agent. Sometimes ECOs do make mistake.

You are a student and you want to spend 1M naira on a trip (just as a tourist), is it a course trip or would it contribute something to your course. Your sponsor wants to spend 1M on you Why and who’s he or she to u? ECO wants to know the importance of such visit and why so much money on a trip as a student.

Work on that and reapply, good luck. Also the ECO wants to know your sponsor is depositing money into your account as financial connection between you two.

My wife got hers within 3days, tls didn’t contact her for pick up, she had to go there to check and noticed her passport was returned with visa to vac the next day she submitted it. If you don’t hear from them after 3days, go there to check.

How do I convince the ECO why she stay so long? The reason really is she is not doing much in Nigeria. Also my children are in full time education, so she is really not doing any/much childminding for her grandchildren. So its just for
a change environment.

Also note that my first question was how do we make a successful application and secondly 6 months or 2years application because we applied for 2years after her first successful application hence I asked do we revert to 6month application.

Please give your views.

You stated it’s just for a change of environment, be aware of HO doesn’t want visitors to make UK their second home.

Most convincing reason could be sickness or decided to wait for a important ceremony e.g wedding graduation child birth if there was any, not advising you to lie though but giving examples of considerate genuine reasons.

Well she stayed 5months of 6months visit visa, ECO could think if given 2yrs she could stay a yr and half, will advise she apply for 6months though, doesn’t really matter if 6months or 2yrs.

State in the application, well you understand her visa wasn’t renewed coz she stayed 5months instead of 3weeks intended stay, give genuine reason and back it up with you thought she could stay upto her visa validation. Also State your reasons on compassionate ground and tell them that now that you aware such long stay won’t happen again.

Also tell them her grandchildren missing her so much and it’s gonna be very hard difficult to take all the grandchildren to Nigeria to visit her due to....state your reason e.g finance, it’s convenient and cheaper for her to come than taking the children to her.

Please I need advise on how to apply for my mum-in law.

First application successful. and was given 6months visa. She left a week to the visa expiration date.

Second application refused because she stated she was going to stay 3 weeks in her first application but stay about 5 months

Third application refused for the previous reason again and we said she had £1k available for her travel but did not provide evidence of this.

My questions are
how do we make a successful application for her.

Can we make a 2 year visit visa application or 6 months again?

Just imagine you stayed 5months of 6months visit visa, what does that tell you? People always mislead you that you can stay as long as your visa valid, that’s wrong.

Home Office is now aware that old people stay in UK longer to become child minder and use public service like NHS for treatment.

The only time you get away with long stay is if you told them you staying for long and the reason is genuine and you granted. Not I’m gonna stay for 2weeks and stay 5months. This long stay visit was ok with them years back but now they don’t appreciate it anymore.

Your concern shouldn’t be if you should apply for her 6months or 2yrs visit visa, your concern should be how to convince the ECO why she stayed 5months of 6months visa.

He must not go for biometric cuz it’s an automatic refusal for false info, cancel the form and fill another one. It’s not worth to risk it

How did you come up with the figure quoted as your annual salary or your personal savings?

The ECO wants to see you're earning an income separate from your business funds. Showing them receipts of recent sales is good only tk buttress that you have a business but it also goes on to show that the funds you have are for your business. Nothing to show the funds are available for your personal use.

Your personal savings may also not be showing a fixed but stead inflow of an amount that can be described as your monthly salary.

Your budget for the trip must not be more than two months of your disposable income (money left after you've covered your monthly expenses from your paid fixed salary).

Sharing details of your application might help us all guide you better.

Your receipts of sales you submitted is counted as payslip, not only when you are employed that you refer to it as payslip.

Theres a high possibility that this same certificate may have been verified by organization I work for when I joined, and if it was fake, I would have been asked to leave.

You should have addressed this issue when it happened, now what you can do is when you reapply, use the opportunity to address it.

State in the additional information page with cover letter to explain when you previously applied, the ECO claims your NYSC cert is fake. State that you can confirm the cert isn’t fake, collect letter from NYSC if possible for the cert confirmation to back it up. Also state you would appreciate if your NYSC cert is properly verified this time to avoid false claim of unoriginality.

Oga only you know the truth o, follow this instruction if truly your NYSC cert is original. Ministers used fake NYSC cert na so Forget the story of you are using it to work in Naija, many Naija companies don’t bother to confirm Docs or bribe. I doubt if ECO would make such mistake of stating your cert is fake but nobody is above mistake.

No he can’t bank statement is a mandatory requirement, without it your financial circumstances in Nigeria can’t be assessed

@giselle your opinion is right and I was expecting justwise to state otherwise and he did, justwise so much believe in submitting application with docs and won’t consider how the ECOs feel.

Have passed through what @eyimbamercedes is experiencing right now. I am a dual citizen too UK and Nigeria but living in UK and not ready for spouse visa for my wife and decided to do visit visa until I’m ready. My wife visit visa got refused 3times, so true as eyimbamercedes stated the ECO will always change their reasons every time you reapply.

By God’s grace the ECO made a silly mistake on my wife’s third application on refusal reason, I took that opportunity to go for a judicial review to challenge them, first step of the judicial review process by using Pre-Action Protocol letter (PAP) as advised by the court. Well they didn’t let it get to court and overturned their decision and granted my wife a visit visa, if my wife had continue to apply millions times, they will continue to deny her with intentional different reasons.

Well I think the ECO expected a spouse visa as a spouse of a citizen, again the ECO might think you living in Nigeria what’s she going UK to visit and a British child not involved to have a strong case. Trust you can submit all docs and if the ECO felt your reason for visit doesn’t make sense, they will refuse. @eyimbamercedes you can continue to reapply, your wife could be lucky to meet a considerate ECO. Good luck and let @justwise advise u on right docs coz he thinks you are submitting not enough docs, reason he asked you what docs you have been submitting.

It doesn’t matter what year you were refused, it stays there forever. People always misunderstand this, they don’t delete records but they won’t use it against you anymore. Only if court ordered the records to be deleted. E.g if someone is banned for 10yrs, it doesn’t mean after 10years they will delete it, no no no it’s gonna be there forever but they won’t refer to it while dealing with your application.

The Portuguese embassy will verify if your certificate are genuine. I completed my masters in the UK so under normal circumstances the Portuguese embassy has to contact the British embassy in Nigeria about my graduation. The enquire has been sent to the British embassy here but no response. I went to their office in lagos or and they didn't let me in, I called but nobody answered. Graduation or certification can’t be confirmed by embassy, major reason they didn’t reply, Also you can’t enter embassy without appointment. Portuguese embassy should contact your university in UK for verification. Only university can verify and confirm your graduation and certificate. Better still request a letter from your university and send to Portuguese embassy, that way they will know how to contact your university if they need additional information

She can include the copy of your valid UK visa and apply, also include your wedding docs e.g marriage cert photos etc write in additional page of the form why you chose UK for your honeymoon, good luck.

Mine was easy because my son is British, baby daddy is British, My son’s paternal family all live in the uk, I have to take him to go visit his father, grandparents and also for medical so I have a solid reason to always travel to the United Kingdom. If you have family members in the uk, you can say you would love to visit them twice a year but if you don’t have anyone in the uk, I really don’t know how that works.

I don't agree with your opinion. It's your responsibility to prove to the ECO that you can afford the trip comfortably, you have every reason to come back, you plan on visiting where and when you will and you will not use public funds while in the UK.

Whilst reviewing, if the ECO sees something that doesn't support the above, he can stop assessing right there. No need to assess the rest of your documents as it would be a waste of his time. Some though, just to ensure they are convinced that they have to refuse you the visa.

Keep quiet bro so if someone got exam question one wrong, examiner should stop marking the script. I stated intentional act in my prev post coz eg someone provided birth/marriage cert family photos ECO could say letter to confirm he or she is your child is missing, can’t such be called intentional act. Why would the ECO ignore important docs and refused on just a letter. Many are aware that ECO wanna find reason to refuse if they could, oga nothing is misleading.

Yes people said after 6 months they got 5 yrs or 10 yrs visa... it’s possible... but in my opinion most of these cases were able to substantially prove that there was a need for frequent travel to the UK..
Grace(real name withheld) that applied for 10 yrs after her 2 years visa... paid the total amount for 10 yrs, still ECO didn’t stamp the 10 yrs but reduced it to 5 years and no refund of her money was made.. so we can only guess how these things work.. no ECO is on this thread...

This is what is killing us in Nigeria we work towards high risk coz that thing happened once or twice.

Of course they handle applications from so-called "high-risk" countries like Nigeria much differently and with more bias than those from other countries not classed as such. That's a given, no need to argue the point further. A lot of the applications turned down here and in other so-called high risk countries would be successful if the applicants either had different nationalities or domiciles. They use AI to filter out those from their so-called high-risk countries and handle them separately.

With respect to the specific case of the error made confusing Nigeria and Ghana, it is arguable that that specific intent to deny may have contributed to the carelessness, but there's no evidence for that. In any event, that person should contact UKVI and point out that their application appears not to have been properly handled, given the glaring error.

When the ECO are exposed, they turned it to mistake or error. I will repeat when ECO sees one mistake or missing docs in applicant from high risk country, the ECO would refuse straight without further assessment of other docs and act like they didn’t see the docs. Why do you we have to start using cover letter, years back we didn’t normally use cover letter. Let’s think about it why are we using it now? My advice to all applicants should make sure they submit all the right docs and leave nothing out not to allow ECO to have any reasons for silly refusal.

Good example, a student in Nigeria studying will be refused to visit UK but if he moves to Europe to study then his chances of getting UK visit visa from any Europe country would increase. Not just talking ok have experienced many of this scenarios. The ECO do really get hard on applicants from Africa due to record of overstaying and misused of visit visa.

Well known that chances of Africans overstaying and misusing of their visit visa is high, reason they get hard on us while making a decision. So oga Justwise what’s misleading?

Or you think if they issue visa to all applicants that submitted right docs from all countries, won’t UK get full up. Let’s face the reality and hope for the best nothing misleading.

Calm down a step after the other, there’s a reason they listed 6months 2years 5years 10years. Even though you apply for for 5yrs after your 6months, they can still give you another 6months or 2years trust me they won’t give you 5years. Don’t be a SKIPPO apply for another 6months or 2years

If you made mistake on your application and you submitted, best thing is to cancel it and fill another application form to avoid getting refusal for incorrect info. Also you can try your luck with cover letter to explain it.

Hahaha this is a big mistake by the ECO, a single complaint email or PAP will solve this issue. Once they make mistake like this, no choice to grant you the visa coz they won’t want this to go public. Have experienced it before, don’t mind ECOs, their intention is to refuse without proper assessment of applicant visa form.

No minimum account opening balance required, you have to use your judgement to present a reasonable amount.

Use your financial circumstance like income to present opening account balance, with 10k the ECO would think straight up this applicant is very poor and just run this account for visa purpose.

Try to put as much info in the additional info section in the form. Purpose of covering letter is to explain to them what they need to know that’s not in the form.

There’s no reason for covering letter if you don’t have additional info to explain to them, most do use covering letter to explain their account statement if there’s lump sum, if someone is supporting heir application financially etc

Your situation would determine if you need a covering letter.

Yeah you can’t present account with millions without proof of the fund origin, they wanna know how the fund is acquired.

Whatever account statement you wanna present do not let you opening account balance to be 10k.

So I recently started paying myself 200k salary. I want to run this account for six months, I expect to have a closing balance of 900k after six months[b](opening balance is about 10k), which means my DI will average 150k.

I intend to spend 500k on the trip

My question is this, at visa application, can I pay myself leave allowance of about 200k.

200k + 300k ( 2months DI) = 500K

Please don’t try opening account balance of 10k with embassy, you would look unserious to them and think you are struggling.
