Hello gurus I appreciate everyone who as contributed to my previous questions, and I want to ask if it right to apply for visa now cos what have been hearing lately that there has been refuser due to corona virus.,I don't know how true this is please help me out. Thanks

Holiday isn’t advisable right now, what’s the point of the visit when countries are shutting down. Just wait until the whole situation is calm.

please house I would appreciate your response on this. Thanks

It’s depends, if just a friend you stated, no need, you can say u don’t know anyone there now. If distance family you can still say you don’t know anyhow there. Uncle aunt cousin nephew etc don’t matter anymore coz UK don’t classify them as family anymore, only your mum dad brothers sisters and grands/great are your family. Check out who you stated you knew then, if distance family just say no but say yes if close family e.g I listed.

Please anyone help with this

You don’t need to cancel the application because of just phone number, just write a cover letter to notify them and write down correct number at VAC to get notification when your passport is ready, least you still got correct email on the form. Phone no email etc is just for contact incase of further info or docs required, no big deal.

Please don’t cancel your application, go for your biometric and include a cover letter for change of phone no simple. Aye o le at least VAC would ask for your phone number again if you opt in for sms service

I think it's same everywhere. But I can always give another reason, like tourism and visitation of my family over there that invited me. Right?

And when I get there, I can write to the Estonian embassy and have my interview and hopefully get the visa. Right?

Why did you ask if you knew it’s the same everywhere?

If you like call or email them when you get to UK, Estonia embassy won’t answer you once they are aware you are a visitor in UK coz it’s not allowed.

Go to Estonia web nairaland page for Estonia visa you would find out how to apply. Holland doesn’t have embassy in Nigeria anymore but France do help them process their visas.

Whichever country that doesn’t have embassy at a country you reside, there’s always alternative provided to submit through another embassy or VAC. If you are interested going to UK, then ask questions here and apply.

Good day Gurus.

I have been recently given admission to study at Estonia university for masters degree (on Scholarship). Due to the fact that there is no Estonian embassy in Nigeria, I am seeking to obtain the Estonian Visa from the Estonian embassy in the UK (although I'm considering other places such as Egypt, Israel and Turkey)

So at it stands, I have my uncle in the UK that have lived there for about 20 years with his wife amd kids (all UK citizens) and works as a medical doctor. I want to see if I can get an invitation from him so that I can apply for a short tourist visa to come to UK just for the reason of obtaining the Estonian student visa from the embassy there (although not stating rhis in ky application for obvious reasons).

What i want to know is,
1. Is this possible?
2. How much will it cost?
3. How long does it take to obtain the visa if he invites me?
4. How do I go about it?
5. Any other consideration and advice?

I will be glad if you guys can assist me.
Thanks so kindly.

- Mudi

P.S: I've never travelled abroad

No valid application for what you seek, you can’t travel to the UK for the purpose of apply to another country on a visiting visa, it’s against UK immigration rules and laws

Please Guru in the house
My mother-in law visited us in UK on 6 months visa, during the application we stated she will be staying 1 month but she stayed 4months and a week please will this affect her next application.

It will only if you could give the ECO a genuine reason why she stayed 4months instead of 1month she stated in her application. Alternatively the ECO could ignore it if she’s very old coz they believe elderly people wanna stay and relax more with their family

Yes since you said no in the application so no point being worried to include when you go for submission. The national ID isn’t important

Not necessary if he or she is not the sponsor

Hello guys, great job you are doing, you had impacted positively in many people's life. Kudos.
Please I need your advice am to apply for a UK visit visa and my brother is the sponsorer, I work in a company where they pay me #230000/mnth, but this month salary has nothing been paid, the company said it will be paid next week. Hope this won't affect my appplication and what are the other documents that I need to attached. My brother is sending me the biodata page of his British pp, invitation letter, bank statement. Anxiously awaiting your response. Thank you.

People mix up this, there’s difference between invite and sponsor. Invite could be offering accommodation and feeding only and sponsor means he’s paying for everything including flight.

A young adult having someone to sponsor him or her is a disadvantage to your application merit except a parent or very old person , means you are not financially ok to support yourself for a trip/hol. Don’t get me wrong people get sponsored but ECOs are very strict now, Anyways good luck

It’s ok uve submitted, just hope for the best. Good luck

Thanks so much I really appreciate ur time and the care you have shown.Although,my daughter is 29 years! Also I visited Ireland last year, and on my visit my proposed itenary to the embassy was 8 days, but I spent 23 days in the country.I am about to renew my visa, please can you tell me my chances of getting the visa again, will they refuse me for overstaying my itenary? Pls kindly help me out

Come on you should have stated you daughter isn’t underage, Pls be more open about the application. E.g was it a group application like you indicated on your application that you travelling together ? Was it your daughter first visa application. Reason I asked those questions is coz your daughter is 18+ and can make her decision to overstay without affecting u, but if you two application linked together when you applied, ECO can question you to provide proof she returned with you. Just giving possible outcome not that I’m sure of what’s gonna happen when you reapply. You could be lucky, good luck though.

Also you need to give reason why your 8days visit turned 23days, don’t complicate your application when you reapply coz they will dig more if the ECO starts doubting anything.

good day house, having a valid US visa, is it a plus for a UK visa?

Yeah having a used US visa would boost your chance of getting UK visa but you still have to meet other requirements e.g financial job and family tie to Nigeria, don’t just apply like it’s automatic and you don’t need to provide necessary docs.

I and my daughter applied for a UK visa last year on sep 3rd,2019..we were granted the visa,I left my daughter over there and I came back..and her visa has expired, she is staying there permanently..now I want to apply back to UK or IRELAND for a tourist visa..I want to know if either or both embassy will know if my daughter overstayed, and if this may lead to a refusal or ban..Gurus in the house pls help me..and I heard Ireland and UK share the same information. I will be grateful if my question is answered. Thank u all

We all know some are looking for greener pasture and better opportunities for their children, if you wanna do sacrifice why not do it while did 50% and struggling with 50%? Since you decided on your illegal decision, you should have be with your daughter to overstay there and not come home. What’s the point of your coming home? Your husband and other kids still in Nigeria huh? Or u still want your freedom and not get stuck in UK? you may not see your daughter again for years.

Well you should have returned to those that advised you to leave your daughter in UK for further advice.

If they would know you left your daughter in UK isn’t an option for u, Straight forward answer to your question is ECO would wanna see proof you returned to Nigeria with your daughter. Well when you reapply, you could be luck and the ECO attention won’t on if your daughter returned with you or not. Good luck with that gamble. Note if anyone later helps your daughter to put in application in UK for a stay, your gamble game is off coz embassy would automatically know whenever you reapply.

Secondly about Ireland, well yes they do share info but Ireland won’t know you left your daughter in UK though but they would be aware you were issued visas.

Didn’t wanna reply u though cuz I don’t like people making half decision, get burn fully and don’t half burn OR u don’t burn at all coz the other half is a waste.

Hi all,
I am about to apply for a UK visit visa with my wife to attend my sister's birthday.

She will take care of our accommodation and upkeep

I work for a hospital and they agreed to sponsor our flights.

However I am worried about several large deposits in my account. The account also shows regular salary payments from the Hospital.

Please house, will the deposit cause a denial of the visa?
If so, How do I get the visa approved?

Why will your work place agree to pay for your flight ?
Would going to attend your sisters birthday benefit the hospital ?
Think about these two questions if it’s reasonable to anyone ok

You and your wife travelling right? what’s your travel history, also any kids or parent as family tie ?
If there’s a large sum in your account better rerun the account.

Good day all, I collected my passport today and sadly I was refused. I tried to explain the source of some deposits as some of the deposits in which the narration also explains what the deposit was for. But I am guessing because I didn't provide supporting documents. But the gurus will help throw more light and advise me on what to do next.

The ECO doesn’t appreciate UK family tie when it comes to visiting visa, they would believe your dad would help you overstay and get paper in UK. Therefore they gonna continue to give unreasonable excuse to refuse you. Even though you have explained the funds, Well try to provide proof of the irregular funds deposited into your account and reapply and let’s see if they come up with another excuse

Hello House,

i am planning to apply for a visit visa to the UK In April with the help of my step father who is a british citizen. he will be inviting me and he would also be my sponsor.

meanwhile i have a job which pays 200,000.00 monthly, they recently just increased my salary from 60,000.00 to 200,000.00 because i was on probation while i was collecting 60,000.00.

note that my uncle had already invited me twice, which my visa was refused because i didnt have a close ties in nigeria back in 2017.

my question is, is it bad if my step father invite me instead of my uncle who had invited me before.
and also since my step father will be dropping his statement of account , can i submit my 3 months salary account?
my disposable income is 100,000.00 just for proof that i'm actually working or does it have to be six months?

please help. i'm confused.

Your step father inviting you, does that mean your mother is in UK?

One important question, did you state in your application you got hubby in UK ?

It means whoever is gonna help you can only fill the form and get documents for u but you have to submit yourself.

What I referred to as risk is someone or agent tends to wanna help you and forge documents for you which could lead to 10yrs ban if caught.

You stated he’s your bf I believe you trust him though

Please whatever they gonna fill in that form pls don’t state you have bf or fiancé in UK ooo

I put in everything but my bank statements didn’t look too good

Think you got good travel history with UK and US, reapplying and getting the visa shouldn’t be a problem. Ukno wat u did wrong last time so don’t repeat it, take every document important.

Important Safeguarding points
Don’t spend 3times your disposable income
No lump sum payments in your account and if there is, make sure you explain the source with proof
I believe you are a traveller and know other things to do.

Good morning guys, i am in a bit of a dilemma and need your help. I buy and sell clothes and receive inflow amounting to about 350k give or take monthly and hardly ever leave in a any serious acc balance (current bal is 25k).

I also have an investment that pays about N1.3m monthly into a savings account (half of which belongs to my mum and dad as they also deposited sums to help them invest. When i receive payment i disburse to them individually). It is from this savings account i run my everyday expenses and it is also from this savings account that i transfer to another account that i use as my actual savings account (balance 1.3m).
Note that: I have not paid tax on my business before, i do not have any receipts to show. I had a UK refusal about 2 years ago (i took it for granted that I’d be issued a visa as i schooled in the UK, have a good travel history, and had a US Visa - still do- but was careless with my application).

My questions are: Do i need to print all 3 statements?
Is there anything i need to change from how my affairs are currently run?
Gurus in the house please help

What did you take for granted, you didn’t put necessary docs ?

Hello everyone,

Nairaland has helped me in the past while trying to get a UK student visa for myself, so I'm here for an advise concerning my brother who wants to come to the UK with a visiting visa to attend my wedding.

Here is the background of the whole situation.

My brother first applied for UK visiting visa in 2008 to visit our mother (who is a British Citizen) and he was refused even though he was studying at the time in Nigeria.

He applied again for UK visiting visa in 2012, and he was again refused stating reasons for the refusal was because he does not have any ties back in Nigeria but then he was doing his Youth Service.

In 2017, our mother thought it was best for him to come for his Masters in the UK. Unfortunately, he was again refused on grounds that he was not a genuine student.
We challenged the UKVI's decision via a Judicial Review through a dodgy Nigerian lawyer and the appeal was refused.

So back to my main reason for coming to this great forum.
My wedding will be in April 2020 and I will like my brother to be at my wedding in the UK. I will also be providing my wedding invite to him for his application.

He had started working in November 2019 and by the time he will be applying he would have only spent 5 Months in his present employment.
Either my mum or myself will be sending him an invitation letter and accommodation will not be a problem for him likewise financial sustainability.

So I just want an advise from the good people in this forum what are my brother's chances of getting a visiting visa if he put in an application around 2nd of April 2020.

Can someone please advice me on this.

@justwise

There are three things working against your brother

Firstly, he’s got family tie in UK
Secondly, he has no family ties in Nigeria
His financial social and economic tie to Nigeria isn’t strong. He just started work, allow a year work for him with savings. It would be of advantage if he’s got family tie in Nigeria, these people are very strict to issue visa these days. I know you want to use your wedding as opportunity for him, the fact your mum and you giving support towards his application would weaken his strong financial social economic ties in Nigeria. First thing that the ECO would think of is if he decided to stay in UK, you two are there to support him. Well nothing is impossible, follow the docs requirements and he should reapply

He needs to work on the 3things listed above, he can’t do anything about the first one though but can work on the other two.

I did the same thing for my first visa application and i was granted visa with CAC & personal account. Although i have another salary job as a state civil servant. I think if you are able to explain in details the transactions you wont have issues.
The truth is a good account will have a pattern that will truly show the consistencies of cash inflow. It doesnt really have to be high amount

Oga personal account can be savings or current account, why did you submit your personal account? You should have used your business account only.

The question was can he or she use business account, dont complicate the whole thing by comparing it to yours. Whereas you submitted your personal account as you claimed

Bro that's not true ...I use my salary acct for my business too..with CAC and I was able to explain in details that I use my salary to receive payment from my other busines ..and my visa was granted
..

Oga calm down your case is different, the person didn’t say his salary is going into his business account, he said he wants to use business account.

There’s different between you are an employee/employer and your salary goes into your business account and you are self employed only with a business account.

ECO doesn’t appreciate you wanna use business money to finance Holiday trip reason they always wanna know how much savings someone is got.

Justwise and co please does my health insurance as a student in Uk covers me in any Schengen state also? Because I tend to visit Switzerland and Germany during the spring holiday and going through the application procedures I was meant to know That Nigerians are expected to do insurance but I already have one with Uk. Is that sufficient? Or I should still pay for the Schengen own?

Are you referring to your NHS entitlement as health insurance? Even though you are entitle to NHS treatment in UK as a student, you can’t use it in any EU country. If there’s an option to get personal or private HI for your schengen visa processing, just get it.

Good afternoon house, I hope I find answers to my questions
Pls a friend want to invite me to UK,he said he will process my visa from there all I need to do is send my passport photo copy with my birth certificate
How visible is this? Thanks.

Well it’s possible either he or she wants to help you to fill and submit the form online or give it to an agent, either way you have to be the one to still submit your completed application and docs yourself

TBH you need more than BC/passport copy to apply, guess he or she trying to arrange docs for u though.

In conclusion, you are at great risk.

Tell your friend to send her supporting docs and invite to you, gather your own docs here, fill the form online and book appointment to submit.

Gurus here can help you to go through everything
