Please can somebody tell this ignoramus called urfriend to stop insulting our intelligence! We are all in Nigeria with the so called Nigerian TV standard when DSTV was showing the UEFA even the local stations showed the matches via etv. This guy should stop exhibiting and propagating their incompetence. Nigerian tv standard my foot! |
Am sure you have google on your browser, use it!! |
Well said, Soloqy |
I wonder why HITV would rather spend money on a full page advertorial in the papers for what is so useless rather than spend such to acquire content. They keep going to the papers everyday threatening everybody, is that the way to build a business? Today's advert is about their denial of any sub-licensing agreement with CTL, I wonder how many times DSTV goes to the papers for such mundane stuff. For many years that DSTV hold the right to the EPL, not once did we hear that they clamping down on veiwing centres, i think HITV should learn that something is wrong with their business model, if the subscribers are not renewing their subscription and its not becos they have an alternative in viewing centres not beocs they feel short-changed, we are wiser now and know what we want. If they loose ( which i know will definitely happen) the rights to the EPL the way they are going, thats the end of that company called HITV. I am a DSTV subscriber, but i pay close attention to whats happening with other providers, a firm like Daarsat even without rights to any competitive soccer league are busy building content, acquiring various channels to boost their offering Toyin Subair should wake up from his slumber and realise that you cant coherce 9ja pepole is settling for less, the HITV as it presently is grooooooooosly substandard for our level |
@ Agent MS While i will agree that we are all entitled to our opinion on any issue, i want to say that i disagree with you and some points raised concerning the inner working of Oceanic Bank. For the benefit of doubt , i will like to state here firmly that i am neither a staff of Oceanic Bank nor a staff of any bank in Nigeria, i have never worked for any bank as a staff but i am a consultant in the area if IT to almost all the banks in Nigeria. I will like to take an exception to the issue you raised about indiscipline amongst the staff of Oceanic with particular reference to thier lackadasical attitude to work and being irresponsible. I happened to work with quite a handful of them during the implementation of a particular solution and i was amazed at the level of thier work rate, they showed very high level of commitment and dedication contrary to what u said, but like i said earlier we are all entiltled to our opinion and perception. It was at oceanic bank that i learnt that as a consultant you must resume with them at 7:30am and at every stage of the project, they were very meticulous and objective. While i will not absolve the executive management of the bank from the gross mismagement of the shareholders & depositors funds which is prevalent in all the banks except for a few of them that still exhibit some level of ethical practice like FCMB, GTBank, Sterling , i take exceptions to the fact that the entire workforce of Oceanic bank are inept and inefficient. On the other issue of the marketer not knowing anything, that point cut across all the banks, i have had the opportunity of working on many projects with the banks and i most tell you that Oceanic bank still fair better in that aspect, I wonder if the writer have ever had any interaction with staff of UBA, Unity bank (which i called glorified MFB), Finbank. I really believe in introduction of OND holders inthe banking industry which was started by the then Standard Trust Bank (now UBA) contributed immensely to the menace in the industry as regards customer service and banking ethics. All the banks are equally guilty of this. If CBN extends its scrutiny to adherence to the policy of good corporate governance , then you will really see how messy the banking industry has become. I doubt if all the so-called "Bank of the Year" , "Best African Bank" "Most Improved bank of the Year" awards recipient will survive. God save our dear nation!!! |
I have been an ardent follower of various posts on the HITV thread and have been faciniated by the comments of the NLanders. I was shocked to see HITV's advert in today's Guardian informing the viewing centres of thier impending crackdown. I think Toyin Subair should just stop this foolishness and listen to his subcribers, I am a DSTV subscriber and will NEVER subscribe to HITV for anything even though am i die hard EPL fan. The step they are about to take is nothing but a suicidal mission, they re signalling the end of HITV in Nigeria. The management thinks people cannot do without the EPL, it will shock them how Nigerians will revolt against that move. |

The re-run polls ordered in Ekiti governorship race between Action Congress candidate, Kayode Fayemi and Olusegun Oni, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, is gradually turning into a do-or-die affair, with increasing threats to militarise an otherwise democratic exercise. As if the weekend threats by top chiefs of the Peoples Democratic Party to draft soldiers into the state was not enough, recent wire-tappings of the Osun state governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, have revealed even more bewildering plans. Information available to P.M.NEWS showed that the governor of Osun state plans to flood Ekiti, on 25 April, with guns and ammunition and also fake army uniforms. He disclosed his plan to the chairmen of the 16 local governments in Ekiti state. Sources told P.M.NEWS this morning that Prince Oyinlola, at a secret meeting which held at the press gallery inside Jibowu Hall of the Government House, at 8p.m., on Friday, 3 April, 2009, promised to supply army uniforms, arms and ammunition which the PDP chiefs would give to their thugs. The thugs in army uniform would then prevent AC supporters from coming out to vote while only PDP voters would come out. Prince Oyinlola told the 16 local government chairmen that they should not mess up and they must make sure PDP rules Ekiti state whether the people like it or not. He said although he was aware that AC may have its own plans, PDP’s plans must surpass theirs. It was also gathered that at other meetings, within the same Government House, Oyo state governor, Adebayo Alao-Akala and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, mapped out separate plans on how to ensure PDP wins at all costs. Below is the partial text of Prince Oyinlola’s briefing as recorded: “We called up this meeting purposely to speak with you and this meeting is centered upon(sic) me to tell you people that, I, the governor of Osun state, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, is(sic) ready to supply all the 16 local government chairmen and particularly the affected 10 local government chairmen where re-run election will be conducted, army uniforms, arms and ammunition. “You people will give these to your supporters who will camouflage as army in the respective polling centres so that they will intimidate the voters by allowing them not to come out to vote. The only people that will come out should be PDP so that the victory of Segun Oni would be able to be ascertained(sic). “I hope you people are with me? Please we need no Bleep up, and you should mobilize your people, you should release money to them, let them be able to come out and participate as strictly in our plan so that this plan will now be sorted out and there is no way they can…, I know they have their own plans too but our plan must surpass their own plan. I hope I am communicating with you? Please we don’t want any Bleep up, we must rule, we must claim Ekiti back; PDP must rule this state whether they like it or not, they must rule.” http://thepmnews.com/2009/04/06/ekiti-guber-poll-oyinlola-promises-guns-army-uniform-to-pdp-chiefs |
Hmmm, I really get amused when people talk here about Fashola providing alternative whenever illegal stalls are demolished. Some wakes up in the morning without any plan of what he/she is coming to do in Lagos, catches the next bus and lo and behold , he/she is in lagos "to make money" , wakes up one morning and found an empty space even on either main road or rail line and begin to sell wares not minding wether its an appropriate place or not. Before you say Jack, the place soon become market even at the detriment of the passersby. Then a government who knows it obligation decides to sanitise the environment moves in to clear the rubbish and people begin to shout he doesnt provide alternative, The question i do ask people is "Is it the government that puts them there in the first place"? You see people with there wares in the middle of the highway in Oshodi and they will even curse you if you mistakenly touch their wares as if the middle of the highway i duely allocated to them as market and some folks here are talking about alternative. The real culprit here is actually the "useless" local government official that collect illegal permit fee from these ignorant traders, making them to believe they legally allocated a market space. |
@ Isob You have adequately split it out here the way it is, HITV is just INEFFICIENT!!! When i made my comment here yesterday, Urfriend responded saying it was my personal opinion, i guess when all the personal opinions of all HITV subscribers are gathered together, i doubt if mine will be different form theirs, then they will realise that its a fact and not opinion. |
Do you sell it here in Nigeria? if yes? how much does it cost? |
Urfriend or whatever you call ourself, i think you guys at HITV needs to bury your head in shame. I was one of the few Nigerians that was over excited and expectant when the news of dislodging the monopoly of DSTV came up, i even went ahead to defend you guys in my office against the fears of my colleagu that HITV will set standards. I waited patiently to subcribe to you hype of "proudly Nigerian" thing. It was only God that saved me that i didnt fell in for you EPL right and others. I strongly believe HITV did not do its home work well. Urfriend, you always want us to believe that its only you people in HITV that knows what PayTV is all about. Many of us had lived in western world where PayTV is the other of the day, so please stop selling us that "crap". PayTV is not rocket science my friend, - why do u have to wait till you roll out before thinking of "superfast" activation software? - why do u have to wait till now to start thinking of effective & efficient customer service? - you want to spend the next two years searching for new channels to add to your bouquet while the subcribers continue to pay? I am a witness to the launch of GTV in Ghana, which started about the same time as HITV. They have almost all they needed to provide efficient service ready, no wonder many Ghanians are dropping their DSTV for GTV. You did not do your home work properly, HITV erronously believe that majority of Nigerians subscribe to Paytv solely because of football. HITV is a big shame!!! |

I think its high time the moderator of this forum put a permanent ban on all this thieves selling useless information on the so called "free browsing". Please Mr. moderator, take action. Some months ago, it was forex trading, now free browsing, am sure some idiots will wake tomorrow to say they give you "free laptop". The basic idea behind this forum is to share valuable information and not a marketplace for thieves!!!! |
True talk!!! I cant count the number of such mails i have receieved in recent times. Just Ignore and delete or better still report as spam. |
Thank God the chicken has finally come home to roost. I remember when these 419 came on and bragging about the sim, I told whoever cares to listen that the stuff is a big scam. The idiot called Miscoffied replied me, saying all sorts of jaggons, now we all know better. I often wonder why we Nigerians believes in free things everytime. Yes, there are couple of things we may give for free ,butt definately not this one. I warn everyone here then to be weary of that guy. I guess you have yourself to blame bros!!!! |
I have followed closely the posts on this thread, and i can say without mincing words that it is our responsibility to obey the laws of any country we find ourselves. Just like someone pointed out, the fact that Nigeria does not enforce it laws doesnt mean other counties too will be docile. It is a common knowledge to every sane person the penalty for illegal immigration, yet we go there thinking we can find a way out. I think it boils down to the way we live here in Nigeria. Here , we disobey the law with impunity and becos of our law enforcement agencies are not effective, we tend to believe we can do the same in other countries. You cant help but keep wondering why any sane person will want to smuggle hard drugs to the Arab nations, singapore, Malaysia inspite of the strict laws!!! To me its nothing but insanity. If Nigeria condones illegal immigrant, other countries will not. So let stop crying over what is not. If you violate the law of any land , you should be ready to face the consequences. There are hundreds if not thousands of Nigerians in various jails in Asian countries becos of drug related matters, they are fully aware of the onsequences before they went there, perhaps they think they can bribe their way out just like we do here. The fact that one person succeed in such act doesnt mean everyone else will. |
I will never wish Mr. President dead. But the question we should ask ourselves is this; The man acknowledged himself that he's got the ailment long ago. Why didnt he build and equip a hospital to take care of such ailment in his 8 year rule of his state? so that not only himself but other thousands of Nigerian in the same predicament can get treatment. Is it because he can afford to travel out? What about the ordinary folks out there that cant afford the common "general hospital"? |
@ Angel Chi, Kindly send all necessary information and details to darznets@yahoo.com I am very interested. Thanks. |
The post were removed/deleted simply because the so called singapore sim stuff is a complete FRAUD!!! |
