That is what the likes of the121biz want people tp come and pay for. TV streaming online in this part of the world is still dependent on the infrastructure in place

SportsRe: Nigerian Television Authority & Super Eagles by darznets(m): 1:54pm On Jun 17, 2008
FatherAita, I feel ur pains, it only goes to show you the kind of poeple we have in such a sensitive sector as broadcasting, the government will go out and lavish some huge public fund on useless iamge projection only for thier own NTA to make nonsense of the whole thing.

You need to understand that we still have the civil servants in NTA, who sees nothing wrong in doing what they have been doing for ages in same manner irrespective of the global trend. NTA as it is a bereft of innovative people and such indivudual comes along, such initiative will never see the light of the day.

As for AIT in US , i dont know much about it, but one thing i have noticed across africa is that, we dont know what is called "customer service"

May God help us
SportsRe: Nigerian Television Authority & Super Eagles by darznets(m): 5:15pm On Jun 16, 2008
@ FatherAita
It is quite unfortunate that you and many million other Nigerians out there did not see the Super Eagles Match, i really feel ur pain, but I'll like you to know that the face of broadcasting has changed in Nigeria.

Gone are the days when NTA will air the matches by fiat, because its government tv station with nothing going back to the NFA and they will even give other private staions commandments on how to and when to show the matches. the rules have changed, if we desire to have a credible football system, you'll agree with me that it requires money and government is not ready to single-handedly foot the bill anymore, so it behoves on NFA to source to other ways of making revenue to uplift football (whether this will be judicoiusly used is a discourse for another day).

So just like every FA in the world, TV stations were asked to submit bid to buy the rights for all national teams matches, the NTA felt they can use the government might to get a waiver, alas AIT offered NFA $2.2million for the rights and the deal was signed.

Today, only AIT had the right to air all national team matches, but the contract allows for other TV stations to sign up with AIT, hence u see stations like Silverbirb TV, MBI and others showing the match from the fed from AIT.
But typical of the big for nothing NTA, they felt too big to approach AIT for feed and perhaps pay a token, That is why many Nigerians in diaspora who depend on NTA will not be able to watch the matches.

Thanks for your appreciation. I will really love to be part of this revolution in the Nigerian market place and i have gone through the site you mentioned. Unfortunately, the participation fee you have there is very very high for someone like me to pay for participation.
I dont know what you can do about this?
PhonesRe: Nigeria Mobile Marketing:the Uncharted Waters by darznets(m): 1:17pm On Apr 03, 2008
@okoegwale
I am of the view that the palyers in the mobile content industry in Nigeria like Mtech and so on should spearhead the revolution, all that is required is to bring in people like you nd i with relevant knowledge along side the advertising agency to develop a vibrant mobile marketing platform. But I guess they are more interested in the money they are making from sms shortcodes.
I actually visited Mtech office sometime ago on the possibility of working out a plan on this but i never got a feedback.
I am highly convinced that the future is mobile marketing and am pressing forward discussing with agencies and mobile operator in this regard.
I really hope things would work out fast enough

This area of business is what I have reaserched into extensively and had built a business plan along that line. I actually did a market intelligence study on the viablility of mobile marketing in Nigeria and i discovered that the cost to both the brands and the service provider is simplt outrageous.
Though the viability and potential market is enormous, the timeliness of the take off of such is what is the issue.
I look forward to divergent view on this,

PhonesRe: Mtn Introduces 3.5g Network In Nigeria. by darznets(m): 10:45am On Dec 11, 2007
@bimbor
Please stop displaying your ignorance here, there are many non-nigerians reading this thread. There is nothing in technology that stops you from moving from 2.5G to 3.5G. There isnt much difference between 3G and 3.5G.Its all a matter of deployment, infrastructure and the competence to support the service at your disposal.

I think what we should be more concerned about is the affordability of the service and not whether its right or wrong
ProgrammingRe: Top Earners in the Nigerian Software Industry by darznets(m): 1:45pm On Dec 03, 2007
I have carefully followed this thread for a while and i can only much of ignarance on the part of many contributors here.
Agreed there are a couple so called software companies that either resells or buy codes and modify. Howver, i must say here that amongst the list there are more companies that develop all their solution right from scratch here in Nogeria.

I wil also want to add that because of the passage of time that list has changed considerably. There are many companies in the top 10 list that are not doing as well as they used to and probably may have dropped in the ranking and many in the lower cadre has moved up big time in solutions offerings, support service as well as turn over.

The company called: Precise Financial Systems list as no 16 then is amongts the top 5 software comapny in Nigeria now. We use some of their package which were developed locally and they currently have more than 8 solutions on their stable. Their support service is excellent which i have not seen in many local software operators, i have experinced so many due to my position as IT manager in my company, but they really stole my heart.

Another company that is really doing a good job now is Progenics, run by a thorough bred technocrats and versatile management team with good products , very good support service and their client base is growing per day

Signal Alliance is another company that has really moved up the ladder with cutting edge solution offering and good support services.

However, the same cannot be said of the so-called "big boys" anymore. I guess thier successes got into their heads and they are loosing it by the day. The like of Systemspecs and CSA falls into this category. Most companies are now dumping Human Manager from Systemspecs for better solutions.
For CSA, how many Banks in Nigeria today are using their Equinox, almost all the banks are either going for FINNACLE or GLOBUS.

For Connect Techonlogies, its the MD. Chris Uwaje that is noticeable in the industry and not his company, I dont know any big organisation in Nigeria running any of their solutions

So , the times are changing fast.

TV/MoviesRe: Comparing DSTV And HiTV by darznets(m): 12:45pm On Nov 19, 2007
I think people like Kosovo or whatever he calls himself should bury thier head in shame. If nigerians are not doing anything they will complain, now someone has taken the bull by the horn and you re calling for his head.
Anyway its a choice, i dont think anybody had forced money aout of your pocket to buy HiTV.

I strongly believe that Rome was not built in a day and HiTV will get their acts together very soon!!

Lets encourage our own!!!

Hi Uche4nna,
I need to know which type of TV stations one would be able to watch on the PC, is the normal terrestial channels or the cable station or probably the internet tv channels?

I really need the information
ComputersRe: Vista Uultimate by darznets(m): 4:33pm On Oct 29, 2007
In solving your problem, I will like to ask if your Vista Ultimate is actually activated and not the trial version. If you have an activated version, it updates itself automatically whenever you are online.
Your response to this will provide me with information on what you need to do next.

Cheers
