CaseSensitive: Story reads like a folklore. Especially in India where cobras are sacred and a threat. Bitting the snake literally saved his life rather than the other way round. Assuming the snake bit him in the mouth, tongue or cheek during the course of biting the snake then lil boy would probably have died. The cobra didn't see that coming. Everyday for the thief, one day for the owner. |

Why I Attended the Abure-Led LP Meeting — Datti Baba-Ahmed
Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, the Labour Party’s 2023 vice presidential candidate, has declared that Peter Obi was fully aware of his decision to attend the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting convened by Julius Abure.
Datti made the revelation during an interview on Channels TV’s The Morning Brief on Tuesday.
He said his role was that of a peacemaker working to unite the divided party.
“I assure you, every step I take is with the knowledge of the concerned parties,” Datti said. “Labour Party is not a party to abandon. We must talk and unite.”
He emphasized that the internal divisions in the party must not be ignored, and he is taking proactive steps to promote reconciliation.
“I’m a positive catalyst,” he noted, “bringing people together to rescue Nigeria.”
This comes amid a serious leadership crisis that has split the Labour Party into factions.
Many key figures, including Peter Obi and Abia State Governor Alex Otti, now recognize Senator Nenadi Usman as the party’s Interim National Chairman.
Usman was elected last Friday, alongside Senator Darlington Nwokocha as Interim National Secretary and others.
However, the party’s National Youth Leader, Kennedy Ahanotu, rejected the new interim committee.
He insisted that Julius Abure remains the legitimate leader of the party.
A major legal twist came in April, when the Supreme Court overturned a Court of Appeal judgment that had recognized Abure as the Labour Party chairman.
The apex court ruled that the matter was an internal party issue and therefore not within the court’s jurisdiction.
The Supreme Court backed the appeal filed by Nenadi Usman and one other, describing it as meritorious.
See also Iran and US in second round of talks Despite Obi and Otti identifying with the Usman-led faction, Datti defended his engagement with Abure’s NEC, stating he was on a mission to encourage dialogue.
Responding to Obidient Movement Coordinator Yunusa Tanko, who claimed Obi’s camp wasn’t aware of the meeting, Datti dismissed the claim.
He said he deals directly with Obi, not his aides.
“I don’t talk to Mr. Tanko,” he said. “I relate with His Excellency Peter Obi, and he is aware. Maybe he hasn’t had time to brief the Tankos around him.”
Datti also said the Labour Party, like many other political parties, has suffered due to “the captors of the Nigerian state.” He urged party leaders to rise and heal the divisions from within. Key Takeaways Datti Baba-Ahmed says Obi approved his attendance at Abure-led meeting.
He calls for unity and peaceful resolution of Labour Party crisis.
Supreme Court ruled leadership issues are internal matters.
Obi and Alex Otti support Nenadi Usman as interim party leader.
Youth Leader Kennedy Ahanotu insists Abure remains in charge.

Crime › Re: My Elder Sister Just Received A Death Threat Via WhatsApp by DataDoc: 2:10pm On Jul 23, 2025 |
gracie007: So this is a message we just got. I believe this is could easily be a scam but better safe than sorry. They called my sister's name the way it was registered on Truecaller. Here's the message below. Has anyone seen a message like this before?
*They reached us with this number on Whatsapp *+234 701 892 3612**
> The reason why am talking to you now is because of the way you be to me. Na person wey dey close to you, na him wan kill you. All wetin him talk, I record everything on my phone here including the video play and the voice note, him no know say I dey record am as him dey talk, and I know the reason why I recorded everything. > The money wey him pay us no mean anything to me or shey na because of 500k wey person pay me na him, I go take go take someone life and family life? NO. > I know the reason why I told my boy’s to calm down dat I will call you because I know you very well, and that’s the reason why I’m asking you that who did you have issues with? I don’t want you to hide anything from me
**Call me on this number** 09076454185 (this is a different number they now gave asking her to specifically call them back on this particular number alone)
She called the number and the guy asked, "have you seen my message and she asked what it was about . The guy change am and dropped the phone. Her husband now recorded a vn thanking them for helping with the information, then asked for 2 things 1) the video (not audio of the clip) of the person planning the dastardly act while still thanking them for being patriotic. 2) He then mentioned that in case this was one big joke or format, then they didn't know them well enough because if they knew the support around his wife, that type of joke would never come up as a threat to his wife and family meant he needed to rise up to the occasion. He said if this is a format, then it has to stop immediately. (He then took the screenshot of the message before sending his vn through my sister's phone.
As they received the message, they quickly deleted the first threat message and sent a VN back that was supposed to be for people who threatened them back. Because he did not engage them in that expected angry level, they had nothing else to continue with but still send their counter threat. A recorded message that had words repeated back to back. The next thing they did was to now write a message saying they were blocking her. Which they did. After that, she blocked the number and by the next morning they had also deleted the threat VN they dropped.
]Abeg make we track this number know who dey behind all this. Sounds like a new format. Those guys are taking a huge risk with the threats and all. |

Gambling is meant to be illegal but unfortunately the government is benefitting from the huge taxes the betting companies do pay.
I have sworn that when i get married, none of my child will near a betting shop for whatsoever reason.

At least, for you to be typing coherently means you're not mad When you warn people against betting they think they're wiser than everyone else before them. Politics › Re: A Professor Of What? Soludo's Embarrassing Statement On Sabmiller's Investment by DataDoc: 12:50pm On Jul 19, 2025 |
nairalanda1: The shameful thing about this discussion is that Anambra state apparently has to rely on tax revenue from companies and oil money and not from its own people.
At the end, such money is not enough, and thus loans become inevitable.
Also, why ain't they developing a manufacturing industry that exports based on what is happening in Nnewi and environs. ? It could make them billions per annum.
And before any joke thinks I am here to attack their hero...remember all states, including Lagos, have the same problem. That's why they are broke and take loans, and why people are not invested in what their government is doing, when over 70% of the national population does not pay tax, instead we all rely on oil money that can only sustain on a good day 5 million people.
When every nigerian pays half their income in tax like they do in Denmark and even 40% like they do in Germany, you will see governments that work very well by fire by force...otherwise they will get the French revolution treatment....libertie, egalite, fratenite, ou la mort. I've been paying at least 13.5% tax monthly and I can't see anything that has been done with it. I still fix my car because of terrible roads. I can't even get a tax clearance certificate. The money that has entered the Governors hands should be accounted for before anybody talks to me about more tax. |
