My friend is always on WhatsApp shouting "salary is not enough". That guy does up to four jobs, inside this Nigeria. This is just one example out of many I know. Me sef, I dey find other jobs to add to this my doctor work.
Bobodee09: As a parent i don't think I can ever give out any of girls to a yahoo boy. The thought always drive me nut.
I have a lil cousin who is getting married this year, we got to meet her fiance over the weekend and the guy is a G boy, he has no other skills. Some of us aren't comfortable with it but her mother isn't bother cos obviously the guy is rich to some extent.
In asmuch we now live in a completely mannerless and moraless society as a parent can you give out your daughter in a marriage to a yahoo boy.
The best you can do for yourself, Sir, is to stay away from their wedding. Even free data analytics or graphic design classes, he couldn't attend.
When katakata burst out in future, they won't be able to involve you, knowing you never supported them ab initio

Isn't 6 months maternity leave already operational for civil servants?
Avedonn: He isn’t being entirely truthful. Deep down, I know he misses Nigeria. Yes, life here is challenging, but we still find ways to navigate those difficulties and live happily. Truly, there’s no place like home.
It's better to live up to 80 years in a foreign land than having one's life cut short in Nigeria at 40 years due to some stupid reasons, all in the name of "patriotism"
GistMedia0: A dramatic confrontation has gone viral after a Nigerian woman living abroad discovered that the girl her husband brought into their home—claiming she was his niece—is actually his biological daughter.
According to reports, the woman had accepted the girl into their home under the belief that she was just a relative in need of help. But everything changed when the truth came out. In the shocking footage, the wife is seen bitterly confronting her husband, shouting repeatedly, “Did you tell me she was your daughter?” as the visibly shamed man tries to calm her down.
The situation grew even more emotional when the teary woman ordered the young girl to leave the house. The girl, clearly frightened, is seen kneeling and begging the woman to let her stay, while the desperate husband pleads with his wife to calm down. But the woman stands her ground, replying firmly, “No!”
To make matters worse, the woman threatened to post the footage online—and she eventually did. The viral clip has since ignited massive online reactions, with many weighing in on issues of trust, deception, and hidden family secrets.
While some sympathize with the wife’s pain, others have raised concerns about the girl’s emotional trauma and questioned the husband’s motives for keeping such a huge secret from his spouse.
chinchum: At least 5,000 new doctors may have to be produced yearly to manage the tide.
It is crazy, because i doubt Nigeria has more than 50 medical schools. Each medical school need to churn out average of 100 graduates yearly.
According to MDCN CEO, Dr. Fatima Kyari, Nigeria currently has capacity to produce 7,000+ doctors annually, up from 5,000+ as at last year. Same last year, 4,000 doctors left.
So, increase capacity to produce more and then motivate those that have not left so they won't leave.
For now, the part of "motivation" is just talk and no action.

Abemy: The kid in Peter Obi’s iconic 2023 rally photos, has been in Kirikiri prison for months.
Apparently, Yusuf Alabi was on his way home from work. Out of no-where, some egbon adugbo stopped him, collected his phone and handed him to the police.
Telling the police that he’s among the thieves in the area and a notorious fighter.. police too collected and detained the minor.
According to Ray of Hopes, he’s innocent and just a victim. Because he fully recognized all the area boys who handed him over to police.
In summary, the area boys are furious that his parents didn’t “settle” them, from all the cash gifts Yusuf Alabi got after meeting PO and Cubana Chief Priest in 2023.
Yusuf made first court appearance last month, March 27. The next one is on April 28. He’s being charged with fighting and stealing.
fullclub: Under which visa will u travel to the abroad
Do u make sense at all? Or u think whites man land os just where u go because u have money?
To have a work visa is by two options
1) search the job in ur home country if they sponsor then apply, if successful then come.
2) via school
Aside this two no other means except through visiting visa which can't be used to secure employment. Last last u seek for asylum.
With that kind of amount, someone can get much cheaper countries to enter on a student visa, work and study and in a few years be okay. Still get your PR and so on. Save the rest of the money.
This UK rush is not worth it. It's the desperation of our people that the scammers capitalized on.
Besides, COS is free. Our people don't like reading or doing their own research.People get jobs by themselves every now and then, without the help of any agents
Glimpsetv: Man Returns to Nigeria After 23 Years, Family Declares Him Mad to Steal His Property
A South Africa-based Nigerian man returned to Nigeria after 23 years to claim the property he had been sending money for. However, his family took him to an Islamic cleric (Alfa), where he was held against his will and labeled a madman.
The man, who introduced himself as Bayo Salami, explained that he is based in Cape Town, South Africa, and owns a business called Kuvuki Empire.
He is also a top show promoter in South Africa and has organized major events for popular Nigerian artists such as Davido, Wizkid, M.I, and Banky W. To verify his claims, he stated that people could find him on social media platforms like Instagram, Snapchat, and YouTube under his company name.
Further explaining his ordeal, Bayo revealed that upon arriving in Nigeria, he asked his family about his properties. They claimed the properties were still under development, but he chose not to argue and simply requested to return to South Africa.
However, his family insisted on taking him to an Alfa for prayers, saying it would bring him God’s blessings. Trusting them, he agreed. But upon arriving, the cleric asked him to enter a room, supposedly for prayers. To his shock, the cleric suddenly pushed him inside and locked the door. Inside, he found other individuals who had been held there for over a year in terrible living conditions. Bayo was kept there against his will for 17 days.
When asked how he survived, he explained that his family occasionally brought him food, sometimes twice a day.
As for why he was taken there, his family claimed it was because he smoked cigarettes. Expressing his disbelief, he said, “I have been to Dubai, where they don’t drink alcohol but smoke cigarettes. Nowhere in the Quran or Bible is smoking cigarettes forbidden. I am not a drunk.”
Watch the video to hear him recount his shocking experience at the hands of his own family in Nigeria.

DomPerignon: And the exchange rate was $2 to #1. So the President was earning $100,000 per annum.
Adjusting for inflation, $100,000 in 1979 is equivalent to approximately $437,560 in 2025. This calculation reflects a cumulative price increase of about 337.56% over the 46-year period, based on an average annual inflation rate of 3.26%.
That's roughly what the US President earns annually.
Making a comparative analysis for today, with an exchange rate of #1,600 and 1979 #50,000 being worth $440,000 today, Shagari was earning approximately #690,000,000 annually as basic salary. Which comes down to approximately #60,000,000 monthly .
This is outside other allowances which would have seen an additional 150-200% additional sum to what the President took home. So Shagari would have been earning in today's economy at least the equivalent of 2025's #100,000,000 monthly or #33,000,000 weekly. With a 40hr week, this will be around #800,000 per hour.
Perfect analysis
Nigerian politicians have been greedy from time immemorial
phineas: No he is not ,you cannot know more than the Minister of labour at that time who was also a Dr.... Nigeria does not have enough hospitals private and public to retain its doctors.
There are more unemployed Drs than those that are employed. And it's worst for the specialists... Imagine finishing your specialization 6 years later only to find yourself unemployed and broke with no prospects literarily and a family to feed.. What should you do next please.....
The real discussion is we don't have enough hospitals to hire our Drs,till you all address that, bandying silly figures around mean nothing
The political will to employ more doctors is not there, especially for federal teaching hospitals and FMCs. I don't think it's just a problem of capacity.
Many hospitals now have far fewer resident doctors and medical officers than they had years ago. What is stopping the management from employing new ones?
Many CMDs have turned to politicians, instead of administrators.
They've seen they can use five people to do the work of twenty people and so they don't care
anonimi: Dr. Chris Ngige, the Okija shrine former Anambra governor has a different perspective.
His statement helped many doctors make up their mind to leave.
I know many newly graduated doctors that are already preparing for USMLE. Those chaps aren't planning to do NYSC oh. Their eyes are already outside Nigeria.
richiemcgold: 🤥🤥🤥 Going by the figures posted up there, the number of all practicing medical doctors in Nigeria are less than 45,000 in total. And we have a population of over 200 million people.
.. this is approximately a ratio of 1 doctor per 5,000 Nigerians. LoLz! 🫣
The figures are terrible. It should even be worse by now, since this is 2022 data
Anijay1212: Really? Mr governor please go and settle your political differences with your benefactor. No matter what you say sir my response will always be that you did not look before you leaped. You only leaped based on advice from "certain quarters". Your case is like that of a man who got riches from the "wicked one" after reaching an agreement only for him turn around and cry wolf after the "wicked one" has fulfilled his own side of the bargain. I have no pity for an adult that attempts to swallow a ball of strong eba that is bigger than his throat and when it got stuck in his throat now blames the person that made the eba. I am not a fan of Wike BUT agreement is agreement simple.
Chai! They were doing "Agreement" with state funds.
Why Anambra people love Chris Ngige till tomorrow is because he broke such devilish agreement and worked for the people of the state. He became one of the best Anambra State governors so far.
Unfortunately, Fubara couldn't pull through. If he were half as strong as Wike, this fight would have ended long before now.
