For it to happen like this everytime, it's either match fixing or something is in that stadium. You can't be scoring after 80th minute against almost all the big teams.

Definitely no Nigerian parent doing well financially and knowing how ill-structured Nigeria is and ill-minded Nigerians are will want his or her child to go to the Polytechnic in Nigeria unless something happened along the line, I understand you very well bro, I really do.


Thanks for the warnings at least it will guide people, especially those desiring to study commercial, business, accounting and other related courses, Polytechnic is not the right place to study such courses in Nigeria like you have already pointed out based on your real life experience.


But I will wrap up my own words like this; instead of writing JAMB every year just to enter the university, please try Polytechnic and have a plan to stop at OND level and then go for a direct entry into the university, trust me, most direct entry students from Polytechnics usually end up with first class or second class upper at the university.

Meanwhile don't look down on Polytechnics completely because I know a lot of Polytechnic graduates who are big shots in oil and gas firms; from NLNG, Mobil, Shell, Saipem, Schlumberger, Oil Test, NNPC, etc.


I know some who are now top managers in multinational companies like NBC, Guinness, SabMiller, etc, and some even got jobs abroad no jokes. Like I know a lot of super successful Polytechnic graduates, and I am sure if they had continued to wait to pass JAMB, though some didn't go to Polytechnic because they couldn't pass JAMB, some intentionally went to Polytechnic out of family poverty, nobody to train them, so they just targeted Polytechnic to obtain OND to enable them get started in life.



So let's be careful when we make assumptions like this because it can discourage people and even undermine their lives.



There are Polytechnics in UK that offer HND, they have Polytechnics in USA, Europe and Canada that offer both degree and diploma certificates depending on what you want in life and where you are coming from.


Everybody must not finish from the university, it's so unfortunate that Nigerians are generally evil and bad people, we enjoy causing pains and inflicting sufferings on others without remorse, that is why some organizations and their ignorant management mistreat and foolishly discriminate HND graduates.


In my small company which I founded, my best two staffs finished from the Polytechnics no jokes. So let's be guided even though you must have written this out good will to forewarn prospective Nigerian students

I really appreciate your contributions. At least we are all learning everyday. Don't know much about the oil sector except the banking sector where i saw how HND graduates were treated. I get certain allowances that they don't get

You made solid points but then, Polytechnics are best for engineering students.


Engineering students who finished from Polytechnics do better than those that finished from universities, that is why oil and gas industries prefer Polytechnic engineering graduates to university graduates.



So I will suggest that anybody that wants to study business, commercial and accounting related courses should do well and avoid Polytechnics.


Polytechnics are designed mostly for engineering and technology related courses and they do well in those fields more than universities

I attended Lagos State Polytechnic and bagged HND. Omo, I regret being a Polytechnic graduate.
Presently, I am undergoing a Doctorate degree with AEFUNAI.
The struggle of going through PGD (18mths), M.Sc (18mths) was not easy so if you want to advance your career, I'd advise you take your academic route via the University.

Look at this wretch saying I teach in a Polytechnic. First off, I don't teach there but have my own businesses. From experience, I prefer employing products of polytechnics. They are usually more resilient and good executioners of projects.

I have encouraged many to take Project Mgt certifications and then get certifications from Europe, particularly Germany cos they are relatively affordable.

When I had a projects with oil firms, I met many products of polytechnics. Is it those in Seplat, Mobil, or various OSCs in PH and Eket we wan talk?

One of the guys from Yabatech is an engineer in AG Mercedes Benz in Germany. With this your wretched mentality, if you work for your entire lifetime, you can never afford a new Mercedes-Benz. Foolishness is in your blood.

Very correct bro! People who have seen what HND graduates go through will understand well.

The issue doesn't affect me directly but i will try my best to educate those who want to attend Polytechnics
