Cassava might yield more but you plant cassava every year unlike palm tree that you plant once and harvest over many years. Moreover everybody cannot go into cassava likewise everybody cannot go into palm tree cultivation

Edo still has a lot of uncultivated lanđ . Kogi state soil too if good for palm tree growth.

Okomu oil that package palm oil in nigeria is located in edo state with vast palm tree production

We have enough land . The population is increasing quite alright but if we can dedicate 5%of our over 900k sqkm to farming we should be ok.

Moreover, vegetable oil is just bleached palm oil. Likewise all the butter we eat it just hydrogenated oil

Its because we prefer anything foreign. We see foriegn stuff as a show of class to our neighbors dat can only buy local
