bittertruthz: With the present situation in Nigeria, dont expect southerner to hold a strategic military position. There is 50/50 chances of beign IPOB or NDA sympathizer.
The mistake GEJ did was to use hausa/muslims to fight boko haram. He was so scared of the north and politically correct to involve hausa/muslims in fight against islamic terrorists. Dasuki and other northern generals have secret contact with boko haram top men. They were not truthful to GEJ.
During OBJ regime, some group of Hausa navy in my inlaws team refused to join gun boat driven by a bayelsa navy officers. They don't trust a Bayelsan to drive them safely to fight militants in Bayelsa. WHY SHOULD CHRISTIANS ALLOW MUSLIMS TO LEAD THEM TO FIGHT ISLAMIC TERRORISTS?
Military affairs should be far from politics and political correctness. I dont seem to follow your reasoning very well. Is Buratai and Sadique not northern muslims? Is buhari himself not a northern muslim? (See bolded section of quote) Pls elucidate more..... |
Education › 6 Things Every Engineer Should Know (very Important) by DaudaAbu(op): 5:28pm On Jul 17, 2016 |
Whether you are a civil engineer or an electrical engineer, there are certain things that every engineer needs to know to be good at their jobs. All that time spent in engineering school prepares you for a lot of tasks, but some skills just come more naturally to some than others. Here are the top 6 things that every engineer needs to know to be good at their job.
Time management
Being an engineer means handling many tasks and projects at once. If you aren’t able to effectively manage your time, then everything will soon come crumbling down. Try making lists or schedules to help organize your day. You will be amazing at how much free time you can squeeze out of a work day when it is properly managed. ' Basic engineering skills
Most engineering educations give engineers a pretty basic knowledge of many tasks needed to succeed in engineering. Even if you don’t use complex equations and math on a daily basis, it is important to keep up a working knowledge of many subjects. You never know when you will want to switch engineering careers and wind up in something you know nothing about.
How to act like an engineer
Many think that acting like an engineer means being cocky and telling everyone how smart you are. While some engineers are that way, the best way to act like an engineer is to work well under stress and solve problems well. In order to be a successful engineer, you need a good set of decision-making skills and the ability to function in high-stress situations.
Understand other engineering disciplines
Whatever specialty you work in, it is important that you maintain knowledge of what other engineers do. This is helpful when it comes to collaboration projects or interdisciplinary research. You will come across much smarter when you can keep up with someone outside of your field.
How to give a presentation
Many engineers are introverted, but successful engineers at least know how to make themselves look extroverted and give good presentations. Elon Musk has admittedly struggled with public speaking due to his introverted nature. However, like any other skill, the more you practice public speaking, the better you will get.
Risk and reward
When making important engineering decisions, engineers need to be able to weigh the risks and rewards of certain projects. When designing a structure or even a microprocessor, making certain decisions can have collateral and unintended results. It is important to recognize these issues and decide if the decision is worth the risk. http://interestingengineering.com/6-things-every-engineer-know/ |

Alot of big names have been short listed for further questioning,
Shouldnt we be patient a tiny little bit? Am sure if Danbazau is involved no conivance can remove his name frm statement of accounts of individuals whose accounts funds were tranfered to, also, those invited for questioning would not shield him becos he is now a minister. Mqny of them even out rank him before retirement.
It either they are not involved (buratai and Danbazau) or they are extremely so cunning and smart they did not leave any trail. (Which i doubt) |

Nigeria spends $11bn yearly on food importation’
Sesan Olufowobi
The Lagos State Government says Nigeria spends $11bn (N3.1tn) annually to import wheat, rice, sugar and fish.
The government stated this on Wednesday at a capacity building workshop for heads of agriculture department in the 57 local government and local council development areas of the state in Ikeja.
At the event, organised by the Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Dr Olayiwole Onasanya, said Nigeria’s importation rate was worrisome.
Quoting from a Central Bank of Nigeria report, Onasanya said, “Over $11bn was spent to import four consumable commodities–rice, wheat, fish and sugar– annually. Nigeria’s food import is growing at an unsustainable rate of 11 per cent per annum.”
He said relying on importation of expensive food from global markets fuelled domestic inflation, adding that excessive imports had put pressure on the naira and hurt the economy.
Onasanya said, “The Lagos State Government has, however, taken the bull by the horns to boost food production at the grass roots. We are organising capacity building for LG workers to increase farm size and productivity.”
The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs, Jafar Sanuth, observed that involvement of departments of agriculture at the LG level in food production had been minimal.
The Director, Community Agriculture, Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs, Dapo Olakulehin, said the aim of the workshop was to bring about diversification of the agricultural sector. http://punchng.com/nigeria-spends-11bn-yearly-food-importation/ |

Sources from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have revealed to SaharaReporters that their agents sealed offices of The First Group company in the Central Business District of Abuja. The First Group, a real estate development company, has featured in SaharaReporters investigations into the unexplainable properties belonging to Army Chief of Staff Tukur Buratai.
The First Group is located on the seventh floor of the Bank of Industry building of the Central Business District, Abuja.
Mr. Buratai, the current Chief of Army Staff, purchased two luxury properties in a posh area of Dubai for N120 million naira. The army has said that these properties were purchased from Mr. Buratai’s personal savings despite receiving an army salary for his career. It will be recalled that Mr. Buratai purchased these properties in one installment using a Skye bank account.
Sources from the EFCC have told SaharaReporters that The First Group scammed Nigerians out of more than $200 billion.
Investigations by the EFCC also revealed that the company known as TFG Real Estate Limited, which operates in Nigeria, is fronting as The First Group company which according to sources is based in Dubai and not registered in Nigeria.
The First Group, which operates as a Ponzi scheme, entices Nigerians to invest in Dubai properties and forces them to make payments. When they can no longer service those payments the company seizes their money. |

Project400: You're right, however, EFCC as a body ought to operate beyond the Federal level.
Many local government chairmen hitherto this administration have been invited by the EFCC.
While it is not a crime to probe any administration, those who call it "witch-hunt" do have some points, as the Jonathan administration is not the first in the fourth republic. In any case, the recovery of stolen funds should continue. I am specific about this administration. The arrest that are been made, people are calling for APC campaign fund probe. They fail to realize that it not campaign fund that is been probed but how come so much money was spent (on paper) on ecurity yet we fail to tackle a rag tag BH. Remember when Alex badeh was handing over and said the nigeriam millitary is not funded? And how there are cries of desertion and improper equipment by the military rank and file? |
