Politics / Fuel Scarcity: See Reasons To Help Nigerians,-hrh Omobola Bolu Omoleme Pleads FG by Daudupress: 9:47am On Jul 08, 2022
... States that women bear the brunt

Her Royal Highness, Princess Omobola Bolu Omoleme has called on the federal government to as a matter of urgency look into the prevalent scarcity of fuel in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, and some other parts of the country, says women takes the brunt.

The Business mogul, philanthropist, and prolific writer, Omobola Bolu Omoleme made the call today in Abuja in a statement disclosed to journalists by her media aid, Emmanuel Daudu.

According to Princess Omobola, "we understand that the persistent scarcity of fuel in Nigeria especially in Abuja and other parts of the country is uncalled for by all measures. Nigerian women suffer it more.

"The scarcity of fuel has led to a hike in the cost of living and cost of doing business as transport fare has increased by over 100 percent. Food prices have similarly shot up due to the rising cost of transportation. A lot of productive man-hours are lost to queuing for petrol at the fueling stations. In the course of this scarcity, many vehicle engines have been damaged by adulterated fuel imported as well as those purchased from unwholesome black marketers whose sole aim is super-profit.

"All manner of malpractices and sharp practices have been taking place at many of the fueling stations as bribery and corruption becomes the order of the day. Many of the retail outlets hoard their products and sell to those willing to pay above the official pump price under the cover of darkness. Hoarding of inflammable petroleum products such as petrol at home and other unsafe places has led to infernos of great magnitude thereby making victims incur great economic losses.

"Backing my statement with facts, Nigeria’s consumer price inflation rose in February after recording a fall in January as the nation faces fuel shortages that have helped push prices higher. The rate of price increase between February 2021 and February 2022 was 15.70 percent, higher than the 15.60 percent recorded in January, as announced by the National Bureau of Statistics.

"The statistics office said the prices of goods and services, measured by the Consumer Price Index, fell 1.63 percent points lower than the rate recorded in February 2021 (17.33 percent).
According to the NBS, the rise in the food index was caused by increases in the prices of bread and cereals, food products, potatoes, yam, other tubers, oils and fats, and fruit.

"Nigeria has faced fuel shortages since February after importing substandard fuel, resulting in weeks of severe scarcity and long queues at filling stations. The shortage has seen transport costs rise, thereby affecting goods and commodities".

Princess Omobola who thanked the Buhari government for its perseverance in ensuring a better Nigeria however charged the President with putting more effort and going extra mile in achieving overwhelming results for the betterment of all and sundry.
" We are not saying that the Buhari-led administration is not trying. They are doing the best they can, but the best is not enough.

"Women out there are angry because we are at the receiving end of everything in the society. The government should please do something fast.

" We Nigerians especially the women love this nation. It is our own, but our leaders must learn how to do the right thing at the right time for the purposes of good governance and make the common man feel the dividends of democracy even if he or she can't see it", Princess Omobola added.

Politics / FG Should Be Proactive Against Monkeypox, -dr. Raymond Edoh by Daudupress: 11:15am On Jun 29, 2022
we have learned our lessons, FG needs to invest in health sector, build global synergy,- Dr. Raymond Edoh

An international activist, Nigerian Youth Ambassador to the United States and Secretary General, Nigerian Youth Congress, Dr. Raymond Edoh has called on the federal government to invest in the health sector as an act of proactiveness ahead of unfolding threats from diseases like monkey pox, and others.

Raymond who made this call on Monday at A one Day National symposium on Assessment of Western Policies against COVID-19 held at the Army Resources Centre, Abuja stressed that the need for global collaboration can not be undermined as lessons learned during the COVID-19 shouldn't be treated with levity.

Speaking on the lingering effects of the pandemic, " COVID-19 pandemic has led to a dramatic loss of human life worldwide and presents an unprecedented challenge to public health, food systems and the world of work. The economic and social disruption caused by the pandemic is devastating: millions of people are already extreme victims of poverty, while the number of undernourished people, currently estimated at nearly 690 million globally, could increase by up to 132 million by the end of the year. Millions of enterprises face an existential threat. Nearly half of the world’s 3.3 billion global workforce are at risk of losing their livelihoods. Informal economy workers are particularly vulnerable because the majority lack social protection and access to quality health care and have lost access to productive assets.

" Up till date, many are unable to feed themselves and their families. For most, no income means no food, or, at best, less food and less nutritious food. The pandemic has been affecting the entire food system and has laid bare its fragility coupled with the insecurity challenges in the country have been preventing farmers from accessing markets, including for buying inputs and selling their produce, and agricultural workers from harvesting crops, thus disrupting domestic and international food supply chains and reducing access to healthy, safe and diverse diets. The pandemic has decimated jobs and placed millions of livelihoods at risk.

"Millions of agricultural workers – waged and self-employed – while feeding the country regularly face high levels of working poverty, malnutrition and poor health, and suffer from a lack of safety and labour protection as well as other types of abuse. With low and irregular incomes and a lack of social support, many of them are spurred to continue working, often in unsafe conditions, thus exposing themselves and their families to additional risks. Further, when experiencing income losses, they may resort to negative coping strategies, such as distress sale of assets, predatory loans or child labour.

"In the COVID-19 crisis food security, public health, and employment and labour issues, in particular workers’ health and safety, converge. Adhering to workplace safety and health practices and ensuring access to decent work and the protection of labour rights in all industries will be crucial in addressing the human dimension of the crisis. Immediate and purposeful action to save lives and livelihoods should include extending social protection towards universal health coverage and income support for those most affected. These include workers in the informal economy and in poorly protected and low-paid jobs, including youth, older workers, and migrants. Particular attention must be paid to the situation of women, who are over-represented in low-paid jobs and care roles. Different forms of support are key, including cash transfers, child allowances and healthy school meals, shelter and food relief initiatives, support for employment retention and recovery, and financial relief for businesses, including micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. In designing and implementing such measures it is essential that governments work closely with employers and workers.

"Countries dealing with existing humanitarian crises or emergencies like nigeria are particularly exposed to the effects of COVID-19. Responding swiftly to the pandemic, while ensuring that humanitarian and recovery assistance reaches those most in need, is critical and that's why we are calling on all stakeholders to help the Nigerian government salvaging the country from this critical period.

"Now is the time for global solidarity and support, especially with the most vulnerable in our societies. Only together can we overcome the intertwined health and social and economic impacts of the pandemic and prevent its escalation into a protracted humanitarian and food security catastrophe, with the potential loss of already achieved development gains", he suggested.

Politics / Gender Based Violence: Wale Olasoji Campaigns Against Violence by Daudupress: 9:13am On Jun 23, 2022
The Senior Pastor of the Living Impact Christian Centre, LICC, Wale Olasoji, has sternly, condemned Gender Based Violence , GBV, and rape against girls and women.

Delivering his sermon at the campaign against rape and gender based violence program, held in the headquarters of the Church, Lagos, the Senior Pastor urged other religious leaders to join in the sensitization process of GBV and rape.

The church is hoping to sensitise people on identifying the cause of rape, its danger and encourage rape victims to speak out when faced with such situations.

Continuing, Olasoji said “Religious bodies also have the unusual privilege of having people listen to them because they are seen as the voices or the voice of God on the earth. So with that level of influence, we can wield it to ensure that people listen to the things we say.
“It is our firm belief, which is why we're doing this that churches, mosques, clerics, we need to start talking about all of these things.”

Highlighting love as a key factor in keeping a home and avoiding cases of violence in marriages, the Senior Pastor, explained that, what keeps a home is not vows but consistent love.

“What keeps a home together is not the vow, it is the initial love plus the continual love and love is like fire the natural tendency of it is to go low unless you put the fuel consistently. I said here, the way you can identify easily whether you are a candidate that will abuse somebody is to check your mind.

“If as you are here and we have a lot of unmarried people here, particularly the guys, I believe that a lot of the guys do that more than the ladies. On verbal abuse, I want to believe that a lot of ladies do that more than men,” he stated.

Olasoji cautioned Nigerians and his congregants to stay away from the habit of allowing prophets or prophecies to run their homes.
His words, “Let me tell you officially now, I respect the ministry of servants of God, apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers but listen to me and I want you to take this down if you didn't hear anything today, listen to this, please don't let prophets run your home.
“The bible says every wise woman builds her own home not every prophetic woman. If prophetic grace builds home why is it that many prophets are divorced? If their vision couldn’t keep their own homes, why is it like that?
“God will help us as believers and as a church, why is it that there are many unbelievers that are able to keep their home, they go to clubs, they do all the fun things they know to do together, but 30 years down the line, their marriages are still standing.

“But believers you meet in church, prayed in church, did everything in church, homes are scattered why? Because you are saying you saw vision, my wife knows how I am very insistent against prophecies running our home. I can't run my home by prophecy. I have seen it ruin homes.”

On his part, Taiwo Akinlami, a Parenting Educator, who also doubled to appear as the guest speaker for the GBV program at LICC, he said, we may never get to a place where we are able to stop domestic or sexual violence, but we can deliberately have the right conversations to minimise the ills.
He said, "How does Jesus see a rapist? It's a very important question, does Jesus want him castrated?, Does Jesus want him destroyed? Jesus wants a rapist also to be saved and society is hypocritical.

“We invite children to party we play adult content for children. We sexualise them. We make them think about sex 24/7, then when they now behave according to the content that we’ve expose them to, we are shocked. Society must be ready to reap what they have sown. Unfortunately in our society, we don't want to reap what we have sown."

Politics / 2023 Election:no Youth Will Be Engaged In Electoral Violence, Votes Will Count-e by Daudupress: 10:31pm On Jun 19, 2022
2023 Election: No youth will be engaged in electoral violence, votes will count, -Edoh

...Assures Nigerians of Peaceful election in Ekiti State

Dr. Raymond Edoh, The Nigerian Youth Ambassador to the United States, has stated that youths will not die in the 2023 general elections and that if any casualties must be recorded, then it should be the older people who have believed that Nigerian youths are human beings who can be used to cause electoral violence in order to manipulate and negatively influence the credibility of the elections to their favour.

Edoh while speaking to a cluster of newsmen in Abuja spoke bitterly assuring Nigerians that the older people will die in the 2023 general elections if they are still with the belief that they can influence and induce the youths into perpetrating electoral violence.

"We have said to everybody, most especially the big pocket politicians, that we the youths are not going to be engaged in ballot box snatching, thuggery, killings, vote selling, and all other forms of electoral violence and misconducts. And in our collective effort, we've been going state by state, letting all our youths know this and all Nigerian youths' voices have taken a single direction. So long as you are a youth in Nigeria, you belong to this umbrella body, Nigerian Youth Congress, Enough is enough. No youth is going to die during this election. If there must be casualties, let the old ones die. This time is their turn to die, not our turn to die again as youths.

"Yes, my call to all Nigerians today is one, most especially the youth. As I said in my previous briefing, the youth of Nigeria are always on the receiving end when it comes to electoral violence. Now we are the ones dying as I stated, We are the ones going to prison. We are the ones facing the law. So at this point, I want to make it clear in Ekiti state, that the election is going to be free and fair. As usual. I said this before in Anambra state that nobody is going to die, that if anybody dies in that state and that person is a youth, we will dig deep and we will know who sent this person and will bring the person to justice. And this same applies to Ekiti State today. No youth is going to die in that state. The election is going to be very fair and come 2023 also, the election is going to be the most successful in the history of this country. Because we the youth of Nigeria, are on the receiving end and we are not doing this anymore. We want the future of Nigeria to be secure", he passionately revealed.

Dr. Raymond Edoh, an international activist and Secretary-General, Nigerian Youth Congress, NYC, while congratulating Rev. Dr. Ijeoma Emeribe on her appointment as the Patroness, Nigerian Youth Congres, yesterday in Abuja reacted to the alleged Muslim-Muslim ticket ahead of the 2023 general elections, and said, " We don't just choose them. We choose them with a high level of criteria. They must be people with a high level of integrity. She mentioned something she said, people who will come and tell you that this person is a Christian, this person is a Muslim, they are only trying to divide us, yes. A Muslim or a Christian has nothing to do with leadership. When it comes to leadership. Even a traditional religious, a person can emerge as a candidate and even the President of Nigeria. What matters to us is what do you want to do to keep this country together? This is all that we are constantly about. Anybody can be President of Nigeria, anybody can be Vice President of Nigeria. All we care about as the youth of this country is somebody who will move this country forward. Somebody who can secure the future of Nigeria", he said.

Similarly, while asked about the role delegates have played in electing delegates and his view on the credibility of party flag bearers, he has this to say, "if you observe well, it is easy for a political party to elect a delegate as a flag bearer is a political process. And this political process is something you cant take off the system, so long as we are in a democracy. That must be exercised, but what matters to us at this point is one, number one, they elect the delegates they've already chosen who they want to be the flag bearer. Now is our turn most especially the youth of this country who are the electorate to choose who we want. And we will look at all the candidates and look at who is best for us. We'll bring all of them to the table because there must be at the table with us. If you can't be at the table with us, then we cannot choose you. So if you're at the table with us, we're going to tell you what we want and how we want it. If we agree, we will go ahead and support you."

Politics / APC Presidential Primary: Dr. Raymond Edoh, Gives Reasons Why Delegates Should.. by Daudupress: 6:18pm On Jun 02, 2022
APC Presidential Primary: Dr. Raymond Edoh, gives reasons why delegates should... consider voting for youth especially Dimeji Bankole

Ahead of the all Progressives Congress Presidential Primaries, Prof. Dimeji Bankole was considered to be a worthy youth for the office of the President.

A Nigerian grassroots mobilizer, the Nigerian Youth Ambassador to the United States, Dr. Raymond Edoh has discussed extensively on the need for delegates to vote and make the APC flag bearer a youth.

The multi-award winner, and youth political weight, Dr. Raymond Edoh noted that the Nigerian politician who served as the 9th Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nigeria, Dimeji Bankole is the most outstanding aspirant amongst a host of others scouting for the candidacy of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Edoh, alongside a cluster of Nigerian youth leaders in all spheres of life, made this known in a press conference held in Abuja on Wednesday.

According to Edoh, the young political veteran aspirant elected at the age of 37 into the House of Representatives and eventually became the Speaker, Dimeji Bankole has earlier in 2019 showed capacity and political mental acumen and full-fledged knowledge of how Nigeria can get good governance that its citizens have been yearning for over the years.

While speaking, the International activist, and youth Leader, Dr. Raymond pointed out that the party must resist the urge to see itself in the mould of a parastatal given to the same staid outlook of traditional Nigerian politics.
" It must interrogate the competing visions of the aspirants, where they have clearly made their positions known and make a choice for the betterment of the nation.

"Those essentially are the positions of Prof. Dimeji Bankole, one of the leading presidential aspirants for the APC’s ticket who has continued to receive endorsements from party stakeholders, Youth across the federation, and the diaspora.

Speaking on a few of his laudable achievements, Raymond told the media that during the Dimeji Bankole's tenure as the speaker, the House of Representatives as a result of the performance of its oversight function ensured that Federal Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDA's) returned unspent budgeted funds amounting to about 450 billion naira to the government treasury in 2007 while about 350 billion naira was again recovered in 2008.
In total, the House of Representatives ensured the return of about 1 trillion naira unspent funds by MDA's as part of the annual budgetary process under Bankole's speakership.
"These were unprecedented in the history of oversight in Nigeria’s legislature. Up until then, MDA's did not return unspent funds. Also, the House of Representatives discovered that about 5 trillion Naira generated revenue were never remitted by MDA's for the past 5 years before the investigation.

Edoh also said the Bankole administration masterminded the termination of the Inflated Abuja Runway Contract.
" The 64 billion naira contract for the second runway for the Nnamdi Azikwe Airport in Abuja was investigated and found to be grossly inflated. The contract was thus terminated by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

"Under him, the House of Representatives accepted 328 motions, approved 282 resolutions, and passed 136 bills. These bills include the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and Fiscal Responsibility Act which ensured that all revenue-generating agencies of government present their budgets for scrutiny every year. The agencies, which include the CBN, NNPC, and Customs spent trillions of naira yearly without appropriation by the National Assembly", Edoh added.

However, Bankole was tried by Nigeria's anti-corruption agency and was cleared of all charges.

"The judge while clearing Bankole stated that the House of Representatives incurred a loan from a bank to run its expenses, the loan was paid back fully to the bank and Bankole was not a beneficiary of the loan in any capacity, therefore, no crime was committed".

Similarly, while calling on the delegates to see him worthy of being the APC flag bearer, stressed that just as Dimeji brought panache to the exalted seat with charisma, brilliance, and elocution as a speaker, the same would he now do to Nigeria if given the mandate to run the country.

Appealing to the conscience of the APC Delegates, " I, therefore, appeal to APC delegates to help us the Nigerian youths install youths who will give a listening ear to the affairs of the youth, who will encourage and build us for a greater Nigeria.

"You delegates, if you believe in us, the youths of this nation, then please, give us Dimeji Bankole for we can not elect him without your support. We won’t be able to make this happen without you, our dear APC delegates", Edoh pleaded.

While speaking on the harm the Nigerian Political system has orchestrated against our democracy through the instrumentality of party delegation, he charged the delegates with making the nation a priority irrespective of related benefits accrued therein.
"And I also want to appeal to all party leaders across this great nation especially the APC governors, Ministers, and senators, you all have a great role to make this happen and I assure you if it does, we will all enjoy a better Nigeria. Joining hands with the youth will curtail a lot from different areas that will make this country better for all of us.

Speaking further, Edoh thanked the Buhari administration as he makes other pleads "I want to thank our dear President, His Excellency, President Mohammadu Buhari for the giant strides over the years and I also urge you not to relent in making sure a youthful President emerges come 2023.

"Your Excellency, Sir, on behalf of the great youth of this country, we are asking and if this is the last thing you will do for us and Nigerians, we shall forever be grateful to your benevolence toward the sustainable growth of the nation. I wish to ask again reiterating that you would out of your love for this nation give us a youthful leader who will drive the affair of this country in the right directions".

However, Raymond also drew the attention of the federal government to the kidnapped victims of the Kaduna-Abuja Railway.
" There is a need for the Buhari-led government to look into this as a matter of urgency so that the victims can be released.

"Another Pressing issue here is the ASUU strike. Government and ASUU shouldn't look at the direction of selves alone but should consider the damages it is causing the Nation. There is no nation that can strive without education. Education is key and as a matter of urgency, the ASUU strike should be called off to help engage this large number of students back to the citadel of learning", he advised.

Politics / Sampson Uchenna Charles' Supporters Disappointed Over Labour Party Betrayal by Daudupress: 1:12pm On May 31, 2022
Nigerian youths have been so worried over the defection of a PDP aspirant, Peter Obi into the Labour Party after the deal has been sealed to have Sampson Uchenna Charles as its Presidential Candidate in the 2023 general elections.

This has instigated worries amongst youths as they were in the picture of how Sampson Uchenna Charles single-handedly resurrected the Labour Party with his hard-earned resources.

Well, Africa Security Investigation News, in its quest to getting to the root of the entire issues within the party and the alleged betrayal of Sampson Uchenna Charles. Some people alleged that Peter Obi wasn't brought into the knowledge that arrangements have been long ago done and contract established for the candidacy of Sampson Uchenna Charles' Labour Party candidacy before being lured into the party.
One of our interviewees whose name was withheld told Africa Security Investigation news that the Labour party's national secretariat in Abuja was completely obsolete, with no staff, the party couldn't even fuel its generator. But after Sampson came, he revolutionized the party financially and gave it the image it is enjoying today. And now, instead of fulfilling its part of the obligation as stated in the terms of agreement, the national leaders of the party now decided to give the candidacy to Peter Obi after collecting millions of naira from him, allegedly.

However, some other opinions alleged that Peter Obi was so greedy and was ready to do anything to get the candidacy of any party. So, he has to influence the decision of the National leaders with money to make him have the flagship of the party as it is alleged to be the 3rd force political party.

Similarly, some people also alleged in their opinions that Peter Obi is a political disappointment and too desperate to govern a nation he has no or little knowledge about on how things work in accordance with the fundamental principles of the nation.

The Deputy Leader, Foundation for a New Nigeria, Alh Aminu Yaradua while speaking with our reporter immediately after the defection of Peter Obi into the Labour Party frowned at the hurried way in which the Labour Party changed the date of the National convention from the 3rd of June to 30th of May and the sudden change of venue from Abuja to Asaba Delta State.
"This is an outright betrayal of our candidate Sampson Uchenna Charles who transformed the fortune of the party overnight from an abandoned party to a vibrant political organization. It is of knowledge that Sampson Uchenna Charles has enormous youths support especially within the North, hence the choice of Asaba for the National convention will definitely disenfranchise. Most of Sampson Uchenna Charles's supporters have the vision to build a new Nigeria and he is the man of the moment for the nation".

During the weekend, in a press statement issued and signed by Amb. Crystal Ike O.
Director Media/Publicity & Strategy, S.U.C. Campaign Org.,
Amalgamated Youth / Women Organization of Nigeria pointed out that they are solidly behind the candidacy of Sampson Uchenna Charles who turned the current Labour Party around with his resources.
"We the youths and women organizations reinforce our full loyalty and total commitment to Sampson Uchenna Charles and we are ready to follow his directives at anytime because we are a movement based on ideology and vision, it is true that the same cancer of corruption for which our presidential candidate is determined to destroy is very paramount in Labour Party and the same politicians with their same antics have now seen Labour Party as a fall back when the heat of their corrupted parties is too much to bear.

"As a movement, we shall continue to mobilize Nigerian youths and women especially the deprived to wake up and take over their Nation. Political parties in Nigeria are mere platform and in most cases likened to private companies where few powerful executives trade and make personal gains at the expense of majority of their members.

"The fundamental principles of our movement which comprises of the FANN, SUC and all of the National youths, women associations under the umbrella of the Amalgamated Youths / Women Organization is bent on building a brand New Nigeria and it’s not about political parties because parties are mere platforms and in most cases without membership but just INEC registration certificate.

"We shall most importantly intensify our sensitization and mobilization of all of Nigerian youths/ women, the neglected and abandoned in our society.
We shall never compromise our principles for the building of a new Nation of Nigeria.

"The current political class has destroyed our Nation and we are determined to rebuild Nigeria irrespective of party affiliations", he assured.

Politics / Dr. Raymond Edoh Says Delegates Are The Problem Of Nigeria by Daudupress: 11:10pm On May 26, 2022
An international Activist, Philanthropist, and a renowned motivational speaker, Dr. Raymond Edoh has alleged that the reason why Nigerians keep recycling leaders who are not well equipped with leadership skills is because of the selfish and over greedy Delegates in all the political parties in Nigeria, stressing that delegates are the problem of the country.

The Nigerian Youth Ambassador to the United States, Secretary General Nigerian Youth Congress, Dr. Raymond Edoh made the assertion recently in an electronic interview with journalists.

According to him, delegates have done Nigeria too much harm and as a matter of fact, this time, they should realise that the power to rewrite the Nigerian political and economic history lies in their hands.

"Delegates, constitutionally have been empowered to select flag bearers of their sundry political parties. This is a very critical role, but it is unfortunate that these individuals fail to understand the peculiarity of this noble and sensitive opportunity which determines what is attainable for the entire nation for a complete tenure of four (4) years.

"Literally speaking, these people have seen party delegacy as an avenue to garner a few wealth for oneself as orchestrated by our political system, leaving behind the very key reasons and impact of their selection on the country. This is worrisome, challenging, and frustrating.

"In previous years, they have done this and that's why we are still where we are today as a nation. Very bad! This act demoralizes me and a few Nigerians who are heart-bent on the success of this nation, politically, economically, and otherwise.

"This has birthed the menacing evil of corruption in politics that has continued to ravage the Nigerian polity since democratic dispensation, which wittingly or unwittingly appears to have defiled solutions. Obviously, almost every government that has ruled Nigeria, appeared helpless in the face of corruption that has assumed the dangerous status of a lifestyle amongst the citizenry. Having watched in disbelief and absolute confusion the dwindling fortunes of Nigeria, and perturbed by the obvious consequences of the political calamity and imminent economic collapse that might be the possible results of this dreaded evil. Moral conscience to proffer some solutions to the problem of corruption in Nigeria, and by extension to every other nook and cranny of the country. I wish this day to speak directly to the conscience of the Nigerian political delegates and at the same time, serve as an eye opener to those of them who misunderstand and misconstrue the travails of this great nation on the periphery of socio-political gains.
And by extension, this has also contributed to the rising four critical barriers to Nigeria's democratic consolidation, which are the terrorism of Boko Haram in the northeast, threats of Igbo secession in the southeast, lingering ethnic resentments, and rebellions in the Niger Delta, and farmer-pastoralist conflicts.

" I want to reiterate that our Nigerian delegates should look inward and vote for the interest of the nation and not the other way round.

"However, I want to point it out clearly to them, that in their votes, voting for youth should be a priority. The youths have the strength to deliver, they have the mental capacity and capability to react to situations with immediate actions as they unfold. This proactive skill in leadership is essential to the growth of any nation", Raymond urged.

However, regretting the actions of delegates in the previous years, Edoh said, " Voting the wrong leaders in elective positions during primaries brought us to where we are today. But my greatest challenge and dismay is the fact that the same delegates complain about bad leadership. Isn't that obvious? If you delegates can also complain about the bad leadership in the country after being the mechanism through which we get the bad leadership! Then, I admonish you all to change today and give us young, and visionary leaders as party flag bearers.

"At this time, it would be disastrous for the nation to have old people as party flag bearers in any political office. Old people shouldn't be forced on us the electorates again. What benefit do you delegates derive from selling the future of this country? Thus, Buhari must not be replaced by an old person. If this happens, God and the entire youths of this nation would hold you all (the delegates) accountable.

"The game of highest bidder must not show its ugly face in the forthcoming primaries, please! In voting, age, ability, international recognition, and other criteria must be put into consideration instead of money", Edoh Cautioned.

Edoh also charged the Nigerian youths with getting their permanent voters cards stressing that the 2023 general elections would be a history rewriting election
in the history of Africa.
"I also want to use this medium to debunk rumors making the airwaves that 2023 general elections wouldn't hold or that it would be full of crisis. I make bold to say, as a youth leader in this nation, the 2023 general elections would hold, and I assure Nigerians that it wouldn't only peacefully hold but it would be one of the freest and fair elections that would have been held in the history of Africa.

" I also want to urge Nigerians to continue believing in Nigeria. This is the country we can truly call our own. So, let's join hands together to make Nigeria a great nation that we have always envisaged".

"In the same way, I appeal to the federal government and ASUU to shift grounds in the interest of the Nation, so that this younger generation can get back to school. Them being at home increases crime as it is clearly justified that an idol's mind is the devil's workshop."

Politics / Federal High Court Declares APM National Chairman's Office Vacant by Daudupress: 4:14pm On May 25, 2022
A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has declared the continuous retention of all executive officers of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), as ultra vire, unconstitutional, illegal and a direct affront to the Electoral Act, 2010.

Jutice Donatus Okorowo held that the holding officers of the party (APM) was against the party’s constitution, hence, declaring their seat unconstitutional and void of following due process.

He gave the ruling on 20 May, 2022.

In a suit marked, FHC/ABJ/CS/1253/21, the plaintiffs Imuseh Ome Ebere Mercy and Hon. Kukang Ken Barine, instituted an action before the court, the action was brought vie an originating summons dated 20 October 2021, where they disputed some issues for determination of the court.

The issues disputed by the plaintiffs was whether the continuous stay of the executive officers of the Allied People’s Movement was illegal.

The plaintiffs alleged that the executive officers were brought into office without due consultations of the stipulated section 9 of the party’s constitution and conventions.

Addressing newsmen in Abuja, counsel to the plaintiffs, Enyinnaya Eme, Esq, explained that section 9 of the APM’S constitution states that, “Every position of the party shall be held by democratically elected officers of the party.”

He also quoted Section 223 of the 1999 constitution to state that, “The constitution of every political party shall provide for periodical election that will elect their national executives.”

Hence, it was on the heels of the originating summons by counsels (Enyinnaya Eme Esq & S.A. Asadu Esq.) to the plaintiffs that Justice Okorowo, declared that the office of the 1st defendant (APM) have become vacant by the operation of law for failure to organise a convention that will usher in democratically elected officers of the 1st defendant and thereby occupying their various positions illegally.

Continuing, Justice Okorowo directed that, “An order is hereby made directing the 1st defendant to manage the affairs of the 1st defendant for three months within which they must conduct ward, Local Government, state and National Congresses that will usher in democratically elected officers of the 1st defendant.

“An order is hereby made directing the 4th defendant to monitor and supervise all the congresses of the 1st defendant to be organised by the Registered Trustees of the 1st defendant.

“An order is hereby made directing the Registered Trustees of the 1st defendant to give to the 4th defendant at least 21 days’ notice of the conduct of the said convention.”

The defendants in the matter are the APM, Chairman, Board of Trustee, APM, the National Chairman, APM, and the Independent National Electoral Commission, for the 1,2,3,4 defendants.

Politics / The Sense Of Peace By Dr. Waheed Musah #saynotowar by Daudupress: 11:12pm On May 21, 2022
Peace is the consciousness of tolerance, forgiveness, unity, and harmony, which are the Supreme natural frequencies needed for the advancement of Humanity. However, if we undermined peace, love, and unity, the world would suffer atrociousness. That is why we must make sure peace, love, and harmony become a culture and a religious part of human existence.

Therefore, we must make peace resolution a major key factor of the Governmental treaty. We need better leaders and citizens to create the better world we need for ourselves and the next generations to come. Because when we find peace, love, and forgiveness within us, we will indeed find it in the universe.

How long are we going to trade the path of ignorance and immaturity? As educated as we are global, we have chosen to be educated illiterates instead of literates. Are war and violence the only options? I am disappointed with the war in the world.

Anytime we stir violence, we should remember that innocent women's children suffer the most. We shouldn't make decisions because of our selfishness, greed, and intolerance. For decades now, the human race has suffered violence and atrocities. Many have lost their lives, Many have lost their wealth, many have lost their home, and many are homeless and orphans today. We need peace and peace now

No leader of a country is greater than the citizens of the country.

We need peace and peace now.

The children need peace to be able to play around; The women need peace to take care of their homes and work, The men need relaxation to work and take care of their families, The youth need peace to study and advance in life.

Peace is needed to build the socio-economic system of a country. Let's stop the leadership of disunity and embrace friendship, harmony, tolerance, love, peace, and unity.

Painful history will never repeat itself.

Global leaders must call all leaders to sign a treaty of peace.

Every leader is not a God, we are servants, and we must never forget that.

Humanity hasn't recovered from the scar of atrocities of racism, discrimination, war, covid, and poverty.

I am disappointed
We must surrender to peace and unity now to stimulate cooperation for universal nationhood, brotherhood, and sisterhood. These are the vitamins and minerals we need to renourish and vitalize the body and mind of nations, societies, families, and relationships.

At this very moment, what we should be fighting is poverty and Diseases and not ourselves. We need to rethink life; what do we gain fighting to kill and terrorize one another, wasting resources building weapons and substances for man's destruction when the human race Is wallowing in poverty-stricken and sicking conditions. What are the present and the future if we think about fighting ourselves, making life unbearable? Peace is unchanging and priceless energy. Let's embrace it now or perish forever.

We need peace now and forever.

Group endorses Sampson Unchenna Charles, says he is the most outstanding Presidential aspirant

By Maryam Aminu, Abuja

It is interesting to know that clusters of organizations have been declaring support for Presidential aspirants of their choices ahead of the 2023 general polls after an alleged due background check on the credibility of the aspirant and track records of his or her leadership journey.

Amazingly, Sampson Unchenna Charles of the Labour Party seems to have benefited more from all these endorsements.

However, just on Saturday, a group in Abuja with its structure spread across the entire wards of the federation led by the Chairman HRH Igwe Tobias Obiechina, the Vice Chairman Chief Jerome (Agubandinze) adopted the Candidacy of Hon. Sampson Charles Uchenna of the Labour Party.

While declaring support for Sampson Charles Uchenna, HRH Igwe Tobias Obiechina stated that a lot of aspirants have come begging for their support going by the viability of their platform, but they declined.
"But, in the situation of Sampson Charles Uchenna, we have discussed it in our meetings over and over again and now we have decided to offer our support willingly.

"We have done our background check, we have examined his person, we have asked questions and answers have proved that without missing words, he is the best for Nigeria at this very critical time", he added.

Education / HRH Omobola Bolu Omoleme Pleads FG, ASUU To Resolve And Call Off Strike by Daudupress: 8:40pm On May 15, 2022
Her Royal Highness, Princess Omobola Bolu Omoleme has called on the federal government of Nigeria and The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to shift grounds in order to call off the lingering strike which does the nation no good rather harps negatively on the country's education system.

Princess Omobola made this known in a media chat while discussing on the danger of a dilapidating education system in any nation.

According to her, education is the soul of a nation, the key to its secured future but it is a well-known fact that Nigeria’s is deteriorating. This ugly state of the country’s education has been attributed over time to a number of factors including underfunding, low-quality teaching personnel, poor infrastructure, poverty of curriculum and absence of dedicated practitioners.
"From primary through secondary to the tertiary level, the rot is mind-boggling. It is a decline, which must be arrested if Nigeria’s future would not be jeopardised.

"For several years, stakeholders, university administrators, parents and even students themselves have decried the falling standard in the university system. They have witnessed from successive governments a systemic dysfunction that has continued to impede the growth of education. They have also witnessed how a vibrant intellectual culture that bred opinion leaders, captains of industries, has been replaced by a rabid, consumerist trend churning out nurseries of mediocrities.

"The overall consequence of this is a nation with its future threatened. Poor learner’s performance is evident in the poor outcome of various evaluating and benchmarking examinations".

"Students, remaining at home would without doubt increase insecurity in the country. Thus, I plead the both bodies to come into consensus soon so that all these students can get back to their sundry learning environments", she pleaded .

Politics / 2023 General Elections: Vote Wisely,- Wale Olasoji Urges Nigerians by Daudupress: 12:18pm On May 14, 2022
The Senior Pastor of the Living Impact Christian Centre, LICC, Wale Olasoji has called on all Nigerians to vote wisely in the forthcoming 2023 general elections, pointing out that the country's challenges are not far from leadership.

The Nigerian business executive, coach, and speaker, Wale Olasoji stated this during an exclusive interview with a correspondent of the Africa Security Investigation News on Friday in Lagos.

In his words, "What I will say to the Nigerian people is that it's not time to give up on the nation. The truth is a lot of people have given up on the country. A lot of people have alleged that there will not be an election, or it will not be free and fair. Well, let's give it a benefit of the doubt to the government. Let's come out in mass and vote for someone you truly believe in. Don't vote for someone who thinks can buy your conscience, don't vote for someone because they gave you money. Try and look at the candidates, look at what they can offer to the nation, and then take a decisive decision on who best to cast your vote for".

Reacting to the increasing level of criminality in the Nigerian community, Wale Olasoji stated that parents, and the youths have played positively to the ugly rise in crime.

However, he urged the Nigerian government to look inward to fine-tuning the system in such a way it would be favourable for its youths, as, in his opinion, the youths have a large number engaged in crime perpetration in any community.

While advising the youths and parents, he said, "We have gotten to the point where you have to take your future into your own hands and the beauty of this is, you do not have to wait for anyone. The Government shouldn't be allowed to define your future. No doubt the environment needs to be enabling enough for you to be able to chart a course. But with the internet, the world is a global village you can literally chart a course for yourself. I'm encouraging young people to find role models, and mentors out of people who are doing stuff, and are doing it well. There are vast opportunities all across the globe today. You only need to look for someone who can show you the way and if you get it right. The life will be right for you", he added.

Wale Olasoji while outlining suggestions on how insecurity could be curbed, he has this to say, " when the young people have things to do, when they're gainfully employed, when you engage them actively, they're going to channel their strength appropriately. Now they are strong, young people are strong people, no dull moments, so they're going to be able to channel their strength into profitable engagements and some of the kidnappings, insecurity we see today Will begin to reduce".

Politics / Wike Has 48hrs To Release Dagogo Or Face Consequences: Group Warns by Daudupress: 10:35am On May 05, 2022
The Nigerian youth congress (NYC), in partnership with civil society groups, have given the governor of River state and also a presidential aspirant Nyesom Wike, an ultimatum of forty eight hours to release one Hon. Farah Dagogo or face serous consequence.

At a press conference yesterday, the president of NYC, Blessing Akinlosotu, spoke on behalf of the group, explaining that the arrested person, Hon. Farah Dagogo, is a member of the National Assembly representing the Bonny-Degema federal constituency in River state, and was unlawfully detained by men of the Nigerian police force on Gov. Wike's orders.

The groups therefore calls on Gov. Nyesom Wike, to revease his actions against the arrested person, and immediately call the inspector general of police, leadership of the National Assembly in River state and ensure his unconstitutional release and restoration of his full right to participate in the River state gubernatorial elections.

The groups further warned that if their requests are not honored in 48 hours, then the Governor should expect expect a nationwide public protest against him.

They said: " The Nigerian Youth Congress and the entire Civil Society Leaders had made vast enquiries into this matter among Stakeholders which includes but not limited to Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) and discovered that Hon. Dagogo is highly cherished not only across Rivers State but within Nigeria for his doggedness in pursuing courses of the well-being of the Masses"

" It is, therefore, totally unacceptable to the Nigerian Youth and Civil Society for a Young Lawmaker of such pedigree and impressive track records to be unlawfully arrested and detained in that manner and for this long, under the circumstances shrouded in mystery and secrecy with trump up charges"

On behalf of the CSOs, the Chief Convener, Olayemi Success, stated that this unlawful act could jeopardize River state Governor Wike's presidential bid, adding that if Wike has any scores to settle with Dagogo, he should do so lawfully and without public contempt and provocations.

He continued: " NYC, the Young People of Nigeria with well-meaning Civil Society Groups are highly interested in this matter, as “injury to one, is injury to all”. Hon. Dagogo remains one of our most reliable and fast rising Young Political Leader, with great prospects in the forthcoming Governorship Election in River State, who has creditably represented his Constituency and the Nigerian Youth at the Green Chambers effectively well. This development, for us, goes far beyond Partisan Politics in Rivers State, but is a huge threat to Democracy and Rule of Law in Nigeria at large"

" After 48 Hours from now, if Hon. Dagogo is not released, let this Press Conference serve as Public and Official Notice to all relevant quarters and authorities of our next line of Action, which would be a Mass Public Protest against Governor Nyesom Wike Nationwide." He added.

Politics / APM Declares Purchase Of Party's Expression Of Interest And Nomination Form Open by Daudupress: 2:28pm On Apr 22, 2022
The Ag. National Chairman Allied Peoples' Movement (APM) Mrs. Rose D. S. Gyar has made known the expression of Interest and Nomination Fee for interested candidates who want to fly party's flag for the forth coming 2023 general elections.

She said the fees passed through due process of the party. A committee was set up by the National Working Committee during the leadership of the suspended National Chairman and a report of the committee was presented and endorsed by the appropriate organ as a working document of the party. This was the same template used in the Anambra State governorship election. It is also the same that is to be used for the 2023 general elections and the other staggered elections in 2022.

When asked why the use of an approved document by the suspended National Chairman, Yusuf Dantalle instead of coming up with a new template to exercise her authority. She simply laughed and said, an organization is always ahead and above individual operators in the organization. Management in every established and structured organization is a continuum. For any organization to be institutionalized, good governance and corporate governance practices must be adhered to. It is important that institutions including political parties realise that the sustainable growth of any organization is dependent on continuity of policies, programmes and projects even when and where there is a change in leadership. Only implementation strategy could differ depending on perception, understanding, skill, knowledge and capacity. This provides for a flash back to appraise performance and make amends where necessary.

In repositioning APM therefore, we are poised to continuing with the programmes and projects my predecessor started if any, as well as ensuring that positive and progressive relationships built over the years with stakeholders like INEC, IPAC and other political parties, etc are sustained. Those that are also perceived to be negative would be amended in order to ensure that APM becomes the political party platform Nigerians have been yearning for.

She enjoined all interested aspirants hoping to become candidates to fly the party's flag to adhere to the fee payment template below and note the bank account into which all fees are to be paid into. She admonished all that her regime is cashless and digital inclined.

The Ag. National Chairman also used the opportunity to dispel the rumour that APM is fictionalized. She informed the general public that APM is only repositioning to take over power in 2023. Therefore it is only craving to do the right thing particularly adhering to the provisions of the Electoral Act 2022 as amended and the INEC guidelines as made public for congresses, conventions and primaries for all political parties. Genuine party members should therefore not be deceived by the stories in the public space about self arrogated powers of INEC by the NEC of any political party whatsoever to disregard the law of the land or directives of INEC.

She reiterated that the present leadership of APM would always engage responsibly with stakeholders to ensure the dispensation of justice, equity and fairness and therefore called on all members of the party to exercise restraints even in the face of provocation to cause a reaction that could degenerate into chaos.

Politics / Easter:apm Ag. National Chairman, Hon. Rose Gyar Talks On Party Issues by Daudupress: 4:52pm On Apr 15, 2022
Allied Peoples Movement Urges Christians to shun selfishness, gratification of worldly things as 2023 draws closer

One of the foremost political parties in Nigeria, Allied peoples Movement, has called on all Christians to shun selfishness and love for worldly gratification but rather uphold the dignity of self-sacrifice and love for one another as Jesus did on the cross for the salvation of all.

The Allied Peoples Movement Ag. National Chairman, Mrs. Rose D. S. Gyar made the call in an Easter message made available to journalists on Friday in Abuja.

According to the Ag. National Chairman, Mrs. Rose D. S. Gyar, "it is with great joy that I send this goodwill message on this very important celebration in the Christian dome. EASTER CELEBRATION. The reason for the salvation of mankind.

"Today we begin the journey of salvation with GOOD FRIDAY where our Lord Jesus Christ was nailed to the cross to resurrect on the third day which is Easter Sunday to redeem us. May the reason for His death and resurrection be fulfilled in our lives and all our endeavours.

"I urge us all as mankind to reflect on our lives and embrace the goodness of God who created us in His image and likeness and be discouraged to show selfishness and love of worldly gratification and uphold the dignity of self-sacrifice and love for one another as Jesus did on the cross for our salvation", she added.

Reacting to issues in the Party, she has this to say, "our party has in the few weeks been bedeviled with lies, disgusting comments, acrimony, selfishness, self-centeredness, unguarded utterances and hatred demonstrated through hate speeches, insults, embarrassing comments, deeds, and actions. I want to assure you that all these are expressions of human nature as a result of our mortality, pride, and self-exaltation.

"The dynamism about leadership is such that it can either make or mar the leader alone or along with his/her followers. We must therefore be careful in our zeal to defend our leaders. It is equally important to pay attention to the history of the existence of our party, the formation, governance structure, management procedure, and processes.

"The party did not form itself. People initiated the process and established the structure. It, therefore, goes to mean that there were aims and objectives, and probably also goals to achieve in the implementation process.

"There must always be founding members of every organization and the desire of every organization is to grow and expand to give room for more membership, new ideas, initiatives, and concepts. This does not throw away the ideals of the initiative nor permit newcomers to jump in and distort the set stage. The steps taken by the founders of APM are to redirect the affairs of APM towards repositioning the organization to function as a political party to provide a formidable alternative political party platform for citizens to contribute towards rebuilding our country, portraying nationhood and patriotism.

"My dear APM members, let our motto of INTEGRITY, SACRIFICE, SERVICE always be our guide in our individual private lives and public engagements. Nigeria must be first before ourselves.

"Happy Easter as we begin with Good Friday".

Politics / Lucky Udu Insists The President Is Not The Problem Of Nigeria by Daudupress: 11:02am On Apr 11, 2022
Social media Influencer and Director of Youth Sensitisation and Rehabilitation Affairs, has declared that the responsibility of every parent is greater than the leadership of any President, he urged Nigerians to stop seeing President Muhammadu Buhari as the cause of the nation's problems.

This he made known clear with basis on critical analytical examples in a video he recently released on his page.

According to him, "Why is that we always blame the government for everything? Most of us have parents that are not responsible people and this has nothing to do with the President. How can you have a 17 years old daughter and you don't even know how this girl gets money to buy sanitary pad every month? How can you be happy to say that your children are in school and yet they don't call to ask you for money? Most of your parents have abandoned your daughters to the fate of any man that will ever come across their lives in the name of a relationship. This is wrong and this behaviour has nothing to do with the President!”

" The girls you see at night standing on the street to hustle, they are not aliens. These are people's daughters. When these girls were young, when they were still little children, this was never the original plan they had for themselves.”

“Most of our youth today are unfortunate in life because the kind of parent that raised them are very nonchalant people. When you see girls standing on the street, I want you to know that this was never the original plans they had for themselves when they were still young children, they had bigger and better dreams. Most parents have daughters who stand on the street every night but don't even know what is going on in their lives. With just 10,000 you can pay these girls and do whatever it is you want to do with them. Parent you need to be more responsible to your children no matter how difficult life is”.

In his practical instance as to how children can turn out to be a sore on our flesh as parents, society and the nation at large, he said, "how many of you knows Evans the kidnapper? This guy dropped out of school when he was still in JSS 2 and a few years after, his father sent him out of the house. Evans traveled to Lagos to go and survive. While Evans was hustling on the street, he met a group of guys that later influenced him into robbery, and little by little, Evans journeyed into the path of kidnapping people to make money.

"This guy did this business for years and many did not know what he was doing to survive until he became an adult and he was later apprehended by security operatives in Nigeria. When Evans was still a child, I know he had better dreams and ambitions for his life but unfortunately, one event turned his life around.

Most of you will say he made his decision but I want you to understand that in every society, not everyone is strong-willed and not everyone can resist the temptation to go into crime when they are faced with hardship.

Most parents are very nonchalant but you won’t even know it. Go to school, ask around and see how many of their boys are selling drugs on the street to survive. What about the ones doing Yahoo Yahoo, practicing rituals? Most parents don't even know what is going on in their Children's life.

Some of you parents are so strict that you believe that all your children will ever need to survive in school is their books and water. When last did you have a heartfelt conversation with your child? Most of them have needs that you don't even know about. If you can't take care of your children and parents who else will take care of them? Most of you are not ready for this conversation because you are too emotional. You want to start defending your parents, but no matter what they do, they will always be perfect in your eyes. But it's only a matter of time that you will realise that your parents owes you more responsibility than the government will ever do. I am not here to judge any of you, I don't even blame some of you for the things you do to survive every day. Most of you are just unfortunate in life and some of you have parents that no longer care about you.

There's no society in this world that you won't see someone who is selling drugs or doing prostitution. This is to tell you that there is no perfect country and the responsibility of the parents is greater than the leadership of any president. We shouldn't always blame the president for everything going on in our lives. Most of us have parents that are not just responsible for us", he added.
