The Director-General, Global Centre for Human Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Development, GLOCHEED, Mrs. Rose Gyar has added a feather to her cap as National Woman Leader, National Sugarcane Producers, Processors, and Marketers Association of Nigeria, NASPPMAN. The industrialist is also a leader in the MSME space ie Executive Director, Association of Women in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (AWIMSME), has been a stakeholder in the sugarcane value chain, producing VINAAG Natural Sugar Cane Juice with sundry innovative flavours. However, because of the challenges faced by the MSME operators especially women, the enterprise is yet to blossom to its required commercial capacity. The National Woman Leader, Mrs. Rose D. S. Gyar receiving her Certificate of membership of National Sugarcane Producers, Processors and Marketers Association of Nigeria (NASPPMAN) from the National President, Col. Abdulmumuni Aminu (Rtd), a Former Military Governor on Tuesday in Abuja expressed concern over the poor engagement of women MSME clusters in decision making processes and programmes implementation aimed at developing the MSME space. She added that inadequate patronage by government and other stakeholders to motivate and encourage them is a challenge for women in MSMEs. She therefore called on government at all levels, federal, state/FCT and LGA/ACs to look into the situation critically with a view to fashioning out ways of which government can create a mechanism that would inclusively and sustainably engage with women operating in that sector of the economy for national development. Women, she added start their enterprises from family recipes in their kitchen but most times turn out to be commercial ventures that generate employment, but decried that most women businesses especially at the MSME levels are informal and unstructured which makes their contribution to the socio-economic development of the country invisible. Speaking with journalists at the event, she assured women in the NASPPMAN to be rest assured of her efforts that would in no small measure rewrite the scenario with the able leadership support from the president and her other colleagues. Similarly, she expressed optimism in the leadership of Col. Abdulmumuni Aminu (Rtd), stressing that the association is in safe hands, as she urged members to be focused, persistent and consistent in their businesses pointing out that better days are just ahead.

The beginning of information and communication technologies (ICT) in Nigeria dates back to the monopoly days of original equipment manufacturers, such as IBM, NCR, and DEC who either had a local presence or made products available through local dealerships/partnerships. The microcomputer democratized the hardware industry through the entry of a new breed of suppliers, often buying and reselling through a gray market of ICT products and accessories. One effect of this was the emergence in the 1990s of a large computer trading centre in the Ikeja area of Lagos State called the "Computer Village", which coincided with the start of a local assembly of computers, there and elsewhere in the country. Before the liberalization and privatization of the telecommunications industry in 2003, the Nigeria Telecommunications Company (NITEL) dominated the landscape with analogue and mostly fixed telephony, which were insufficient and inefficient. The auctioning of GSM licenses marked the start of a new era in communications. Today, more than 90% of telephone and Internet usage is on GSM-powered mobile devices. This birthed the establishment of the Digital Bridge Institute by the Nigerian Communications Commission in 2004 as a Company Limited by Guarantee which according to the President of the Institution, Engr. Prof. Mohammed Ajiya, it means the institution has to work and sustain itself. The President, Digital Bridge Institute, Engr. Prof. Mohammed Ajiya has said that DBI has trained over one hundred and twenty thousand (120,000) staff of Universities and over seventy thousand teachers of secondary schools in ICT across the nation within seventeen (17) years of existence. Engr. Prof. Ajiya who disclosed this on Friday while on a live program, (Eagles Morning rise) on Eagles FM 102.3 in Abuja said ICT as a set of activities that facilitates electronic means of processing, transmission, and displaying of information has the pace of changes which brought about by the introduction of various ICT trends have led to re-organization, changes in work pattern, and demand for new skills and job retraining in every profession. "It also has a significant impact on the living condition of people worldwide". However, it is undeniable that the pace of changes brought about by the introduction of various ICT trends has led to significant impacts both negative and positive on the living condition of people, other sectors in the economy was neither here nor there in the past fifteen years. Engr. Ajiya maintained that no appreciable impact was noticed in the field of technological application or automation as the problems of shortage of human resources, lack of spare parts, and ICT related equipment breakdown, and low level of electricity supply were factors Inhibiting positive impact, not until the establishment of the DBI which has served as a working bridge that closes the ICT gap between Nigerians and the ICT sector. “The institute, Bridge Digital Institute which is modeled to have the likes of the American Institutes organogram drives the ICT sector and telecommunication sector and that’s the advent of technology. "Digital Bridge Institute is a training institute in the ICT sector established in 2004 by the Nigerian Communications Commission, with the mandate to increase human capacity in technology. In the wisdom of NCC, they created a campus of its institute in each of the six Geo-political zones of the nation. We have in Lagos which is South West, Asaba South-South, Enugu, South East, Yola, North East, Kano, North West and in Abuja for North Central. “We run several courses, both long and short-term courses. The institute also partners with some selected universities in the country. In Kano and Lagos campuses, the institution runs National Diploma in training students in such a way that they can become internationally certified so that soon as they finish with us, they are world commodities", he added.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela outrightly forbids the statements of the Colombian Foreign Ministry, in which it expresses its alleged concern about the recent operations of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces in Apure state, in the exercise of the defense of national sovereignty, with the unfortunate balance of two deceased Venezuelan troops. The abandonment of the borders by the Colombian State is a proven fact, granting a more than tacit consent to the actions of various criminal groups that operate in the area. The government of Iván Duque, with the support of the US Southern Command and its recently created elite group of 7,000, has installed a corridor of illegal activities such as human trafficking, illegal mineral exploitation and drug trafficking, aimed at financing the instrumentalization of these armed groups against Venezuela. The military operations carried out by the FANB against illegal camps of Colombian armed groups have been carried out in rural areas, and have been aimed at protecting the civilian population from the adverse effects of illegal activities and systematic violence by these groups. irregular. These operations have the support of the Venezuelan people, who repudiate the different forms of violence derived from more than seventy years of the Colombian war, while recognizing the prudence with which the military leadership is carrying out the operations, guaranteeing human rights. and, above all, the life of the population. The events that occurred in the vicinity of the town of La Victoria show that these Colombian armed groups act against the civilian population, attacking facilities of the electricity service, the tax authority and the state oil company, also using terrorist methods such as planting of antipersonnel mines, for the dismantling of which Venezuela will request the specialized support of the United Nations. Upon seeing themselves defeated, these armed groups have used the population as a human shield to flee to Colombia, where they are not persecuted, as they have the tolerance and protection of the authorities of that country. By reiterating its absolute support for its Bolivarian National Armed Forces and the civil authorities of the region, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela will effectively guarantee peace within the national territory and ratify that any attempt to violate the territorial integrity of Venezuela, either Conventional or covert, on the part of any armed organization, be it regular or irregular, will have a forceful reaction.
