Nigeria’s ameliorating unemployment rate, poor socio-economic performance, human rights abuses, widespread poverty, insecurity, corruption, and lack of trust in the political system have led to disenchantment amongst the electorates, especially the youth who make up the highest percentage of registered voters.

There is a need for people to participate in choosing political leaders who will serve the public’s interest, promote good governance and birth visible democratic dividends in Nigeria to Nigerians.

It is against this backdrop that the Nigerian Youths under the Nigerian Youth Decide ( NYD), Diamond Youth Transformation Initiative (DYTI), in conjunction with Jama'atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Christian Association of Nigeria Youth wing, Muslim Student Association, YOWINCAN/ Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria Youth wing/Nigerians in the Diaspora, the lead initiators and organizers of the Youth Presidential Debate scheduled for December 10th, 2022 is staging on Thursday, 24th November, 2022 a rally ahead of the Debate.

The Media Director of the 2023 Youth Presidential Debate, Emmanuel Huleji Daudu, in a press release signed during the weekend and made available to journalists in Abuja, stated that the rally aims to create awareness ahead of the youth debate.
"We are tired of not seeing the dividends of democracy. We the Nigerian youths have come together to stage this rally. All the Presidential candidates would be in attendance on that date of the debate to tell us what they have to offer if elected.

"Telling us what they have to offer is not enough. They will also tell us how they want to achieve all that they claim they have to offer, and bet the youths to hold them accountable in case they fail to do what they have promised.

"The decision of the Nigerian Youths on who to align with in the 2023 Presidential contest is based on the debate. We wouldn't make an uninformed decision again. Politics is a game of interest and as such, we can't support anyone who doesn't have our interest at heart", Daudu added.

President DYTI, NYD /NMBGA, giving a background of the lead organization, said,

According to the statement, Dr. Leonard said, African Action Congress, AAC, expelled Omoyele Sowore from the party on August 9, 2019, for sabotaging the party’s 2019 Presidential Election as he Simultaneously held the position of a presidential candidate as well as National Chairman of the party same time thereby exposing the party as an autocratic political party.

Leonard, states further, "the African Action Congress, AAC, is unlike any other political party in Nigeria as it is founded from beginning to promote excellence in democracy both at internal party level as well as outside-party governance positions and other levels. Being a child of circumstance, it abhorred concentration of power on one hand and upholds dilution of power across
functional party lines and offices.

"It vowed to do away with domiciliation of power on power-hungry individuals which has characterized Nigeria's party management order over the years. Clearly, its leadership design sets a wedge against every arrangement that permits an individual to hold more than one position at a time as it seeks to enforce the strictest credo of participatory democracy whilst ensuring liberty and equality for all members.

"A deviation from this stated democratic dictum, therefore, attracts sanction as it has been counseled by history that when power is concentrated in one hand it incentivizes dictatorial and tyrannical proclivity wherein the holder ultimately becomes a despot that disavows democratic virtues of all descriptions.

"Omoyele Stephen Sowere shamefully brought us back to this dishonorable nadir and arrogantly continued thereto even when the opportunity availed him to retrace his step.

"On October 6, 2018, in CMD, Magodo, Lagos, Sowere clearly showed that he was not a democrat as he willfully deceived party members and faithful(s) that converged as he aborted the party's first attempt to enthrone leadership of the party and bolted away from the venue once he was affirmed as the party's presidential candidate which resulted in his becoming the party's presidential candidate and the party's National chairman same time.

"As has continually been stated over time by democrats, there is no sin greater than the subversion of the peoples’ will whether it is at the party's level or any other settings.

"The African Action Congress, AAC, therefore,
had no need for a non-democrat even though he claims to be a human rights activist. He was first suspended on May 13, 2019, and finally
expelled from the party on August 9, 2019.

"The public is hereby notified that Omoyele Stephen Sowere is not the African Action Congress' Presidential Candidate for the 2023 General Election.

"African Action Congress will Always Put The People First"! Leonard added.

Politics / AAC Disowns Sowore, Assures Public Of Justice by Daudupress: 4:06pm On Sep 07, 2022
African Action Congress, AAC, has advised its esteemed members and the general public to disassociate selves from Omoyele Sowore who is not an AAC Presidential Candidate but claiming so to hoodwink the public and collect money from unsuspecting victims, "Party faithful(s) should remain calm and law-abiding".

The National Chairman of the party, Dr. Leonard Nzenwa made this known in a statement he signed and made available to journalists in Abuja.

Leonard further stated that since June 02, 2022, the expelled Omoyele Sowere commenced working with some forces within and outside the great party with the aim to disarray the party, wouldn't see the light of the day even as the party remains civil, responsible and law-abiding.

"Many mistook this elevated approach of ours as being weak and wondered why we did not adopt the crude and thuggish mannerism of the perpetual lawbreaker and Out-of-Favour character that cyberstalk everybody in the country for cheap popularity and monetary gains.

"Fact, is his expulsion from the party with his ills is for this same reason and will do the party no good to embrace such despicable behavior from an individual that nobody would want to relate with.

"In our resolve, therefore, to remain civil and law-abiding in the face of the onslaught from enemies of our great party, we set out first during this period to establish the genuineness of the Court Judgement which he claimed gave him victory which was a BIG LIE.

"The second thing we did was to counter him and his troop legitimately in Court which is still ongoing, and they are literally scampering for safety now!

"Following from above we now directed effort at ensuring that his name was removed as our great party’s presidential candidate, this we also achieved.

"Our next push is to ensure that his name is delisted as our great party’s National Chairman and transmit all our candidates that emerged from our nationwide primaries. We are not relenting on this end.

"All Leaders and State Chairmen are, therefore, directed to be on high alert as they can be called upon at any time.

"Finally, we wish to thank all party faithful(s) for their prayers and support", Leonard added.

Politics / AAC Disappointed At Sowore As He Denies Knowledge Of Court Case by Daudupress: 9:42am On Sep 07, 2022
Reacting to Sowore's interview with the Channels under the "Politics Today", anchored by Seun during the week, it is disgraceful to see Sowore lying on national television.
His denial about the case being in the Federal High court shows that he doesn't have the mental capacity to even contest for the office of a councilor.

"It was obvious that after he was in court for the same case he still could publicly deny knowledge of it.

The National Publicity Secretary, African Action Congress, AAC, Sylvester Cletus made this known in a statement issued recently in Abuja.

Speaking further, he said, " our Matter With Sowere Adjourned till Tuesday, September 20, 2022(No Verdict of Any Sort was Given by the Court nor Certificate Ceremony Done Anywhere As Erroneously Being Circulated)

"Today in the Federal High Court, Abuja, Our matter with Omoyele Sowere was adjourned for Tuesday, September 20, 2022.

"The adjournment was on account of regularization of an amendment brought in by Sowere team which was out of time but admitted by the hallowed court to give room for a fair hearing to all parties.

"As usual they were ill-prepared to go on with the matter.

"Sowere and his camp sensing that they were in a tight corner adopted a surreptitious time-grabbing antics to further slow down the verdict and
postpone the judgment day.

"To consolidate the matter and make progress hearing and ruling for the matter is now scheduled for Tuesday, September 20, 2022.

"Note that in the Court today, no verdict, ruling, or hearing was done on the basis of this adjournment nor was there any Certificate Ceremony done anywhere either in the Court premises or INEC.

"The general public is hereby advised to discountenance this fresh antics by Omoyele Sowore who is not AAC Presidential Candidate to hoodwink the public and collect money from unsuspecting victims.

"Pictures being circulated online are old ones taken on August 20, 2019, when the party was successfully registered.

"Party faithful(s) should remain calm and law-abiding as justice will be served no matter the antics of our party’s producers", he added.

Politics / See Reasons Ahmed Debo Remains IPMAN National President by Daudupress: 8:47am On Aug 25, 2022
Independent Petroleum Marketers Association Nigeria, IPMAN, has called on the general public to debunk rumour and some online publications stating that Elder Chinedu Okoronkwo is the new IPMAN President affirming to the general public that Alhaji Ahmed Debo remains the legally and legitimately recognised President of the Association.

The President, Alhaji Ahmed Debo
made this in a press release made available to journalist on Wednesday.

According to the statement,"the attention of Alhaji Ahmed Debo was drawn to the online publication of Elder
Chinedu Okoronkwo, challenging the legitimacy of Alhaji Ahmed Debo as been the President of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association Nigeria (IPMAN).

"Alhaji Ahmed Debo wishes to confirm to all Nigerians that he remains the IPMAN
National President, that Elder Chinedu Okoronkwo is challenged to produce the
certificate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria judgment in Appeal No SC/15/2018
and show Nigerians whether the Supreme Court affirmed him in the said judgment as the IPMAN President.

Giving further details, " the facts is that the Supreme Court in suit No SC/15/2018 recognized the Presidency of Chief Obasi Lawson and held that his tenure elapse on 14/12/2018, as well recognized the IPMAN constitution of 1997 that Elder Chinedu Okoronkwo was not Chief Obasi Lawson deputy but Alhaji (Engr.) Sanusi Abdul Fari whom by the provisions of article (iv) of the 1997 constitution provided for automatic succession for the office of the National President and ascended into the leadership of IPMAN. Based on the same constitution Alhaji Ahmed Debo
succeeded Alhaji (Engr.) Sanusi Abdul Fari as now the current National IPMAN
President that Elder Chinedu Okoronkwo lost out while the Federal High Court
Calabar Judicial Division interpreted the Supreme Court judgment in suit No
FHC/CA/CS/3/2019 in favour of Alhaji (Engr.) Sanusi Abdul Fari now the valid IPMAN National President based on the subsisting judgment.
Elder Chinedu Okoronkwo is challenged to place on the media both print and
social media for Nigerians, to prove whether any Court has reversed on the decision of the Supreme Court and the Federal High Court of Nigeria Calabar
Judicial Division that the said judgement was enforced by the High Court. Already form 48 were issued by the Federal High Court upon application of the judgment creditors. If Elder Chinedu Okoronkwo is not afraid let him make himself available in preparation to be served form 49.
The Attorney General of the Federation in his letter to RIMOPPA dated 20th May
2021, conveyed his delight on the final resolution on the lingering leadership crisis bedveiling the Association, in line with the judgment of Supreme Court to the President of IPMAN Alhaji (Engr.) Sanusi Fari he further advised that parties
should avoid any protracted dispute, that are escalating tensions and violence in
the host communities and thus threatening lives and properties by any member
or agent of IPMAN. That the Attorney General graciously made a copy of this advice to Elder Chinedu Okoronkwo and his cohorts. One would wonder why Elder Chinedu Okoronkwo will continue to hold out himself illegally and
unlawfully for the past 9 years as the IPMAN President.

"Alhaji Ahmed Debo wishes to alert the members of the public that there is nothing in the 1997 IPMAN constitution that recognized the appointment of a
consultant. IPMAN as an Association operates with a valid constitution and the acts of Elder Chinedu Okoronkwo claiming to have appointed one Benhan
Integrated Resources or any other as consultant should be regarded as a
Yahoo Yahoo.

"All heads of security agencies are advised to investigate and arrest Elder Chinedu
Okoronkwo and any official of Benhan Integrated Resources that will attempt to extort money from members of IPMAN with the aid of security agencies, should be prosecuted under the established law of the Nation.

"There should be an end to propaganda and purveying of falsehood in place of the bare truth. It is the same culture of falsehood and impunity that has tended to
create dysfunction in IPMAN. This has to stop!!!", he added.

Health / Emma Njoku Foundation Launches Friends Of The Brain Club, Says Mental Health Is by Daudupress: 3:54pm On Aug 19, 2022
A foremost Foundation known as Emma Njoku Foundation has launched an Initiative, "Friends of the Brain", Initiative aimed at creating awareness and embarking on sensitization programs and projects that people may know the dangers in drug abuse.
The project which would be carried out in tertiary, secondary schools and communities as club would in no small measure help re-orient the younger generation on reasons why they shouldn't be involved in drugs, and also assist those already in it to stop.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, endorsed Emma Njoku Foundation as NDLEA WADA Advocate in River State.

The agency's boss, Brig. Gen. MB Marwa, OFR (rtd) made this known in Port-Harcourt while delivering an address at a One Day seminar on Mental Health Intervention tagged: "Friends of the Brain Club", organized by Emma Njoku Foundation at the Amphitheater, Rivers State University, Port-Harcourt.

Speaking on behalf of him, the Deputy State Commander, Mark-Balm Iduama, DCN charged parents, adults, and indeed the entire public on the need to be taught how to handle drug use or abuse especially as it concerns identifying some behavioral issues like, lack of interest in hobbies or family activities, sudden or extreme changes in friends, hostile or uncooperative attitude and secrecy, stealing and sometimes use of cover-ups like mosquito coils even in the afternoons.

The honourable Minister of Health, Dr. E. Osagie Ehanire, MD, FWACS, while declaring the event open lauded the efforts of the Foundation in routing the spectacular direction that harps on the nation's well-being as drugs tend to destroy the younger generation.

The minister ably represented by the Chief Medical Director of University of Port-Harcourt Teaching Hospital, Prof Henry Ugboma in his words said, "the future and productivity of any nation depend on her younger population, especially where the youths constitute the majority or a significant proportion of the population. Anything that threatens the well-being of the youth, therefore, must be addressed as a matter of urgency.

"Youths, in general, face challenges especially adolescents and younger adults. These challenges if not appropriately dealt with can lead to mental health problems or cause them unhealthy behaviour as coping mechanisms. Untreated mental health challenges and substance abuse problems are some of the greatest threats to youths achieving their lives' aspirations and potentials".

Earlier, the Program Manager, Emma Njoku Foundation, Maxwell Ezelagu Esq, giving details about the foundation stated that recently a survey revealed that about a tenth of adults, an estimated 450 million people worldwide are affected by mental disorders at any one time.
Sadly, he said, they now account for about 12.3% of the global burden of disease, and it is anticipated that this figure will have risen by 15% two years ago.

"Back to Nigeria, a critical look at most screaming headlines since the past 2 months will point to one critical thing, which is mental health. Only recently, precisely on the 18th of July, 2022, the entire media space was taken over by the sad demise of award-winning Nollywood star, Ada Ameh whose death was attributed to mental health-related issues. Similarly, one of Nigeria's finest veteran musicians and gospel singers Chief Ebenezer Obey lost his son to the cold hands of death, and in commemorating the Late Chief Olayinka Obey-Fabiyi, he is kick-starting a new ministry tagged "Freedom from alcoholism and drug addiction ministry", as part of efforts to join forces with the war against alcoholism and drug addiction, especially amongst young Nigerians and those in the Diaspora.

"Just this month, 7th August 2022, a 500-level student of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike, Abia State, identified as Modestus Hyacinth Egbulefu jumped from a 3 storey building and died on the spot after consuming a substance believed to be crystal meth ( meth). The purpose of harping on these unfortunate deaths is not to create fear in us, but to raise our consciousness on the harmful effect of drugs and the need to specially care for our brains and by extension our mental well-being.

"The launching of the friends of the Brain Club as a vehicle and panacea towards actualizing our redemption mission is in keeping with our vision and in fulfillment of the generational change by Frantz Fanon when he stated that "every generation must out of its relative obscurity discover it's mission, either to fulfill it or betray it".

Similarly, the Founder of the Foundation, Emma Njoku Esq, LLB, LLM, Bl, in his welcome address pointed out that the "Friends of the Brain Club", is an initiative of ENF geared towards quality advocacy/ awareness campaigns which is targeted to help raise consciousness of the adverse effect of drug abuse and the need for healthy living.
" It is hoped to transform to better livelihood and reduction in the abuse of illicit drugs in our society.

"As we launch this club in tertiary, secondary schools and communities, we hope that this advocacy will impact positively on our future generations and provide a base for the understanding of proactive ways for a better society", he said.

He however disclosed that the foundation has a working partnership with the office of the Chief Registrar of Rivers State University Student Union Government.

Dignitaries in attendance are, Sir Emmanuel Nwauju, Representative of Permanent Secretary and Hon commissioner of Youths and Sports, Sylverline Ibama, For Hon. Commissioner of Education, Dr. Imoh Ukong, National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Enyidah Nonyerim,Head of Department, Neuro Psychiatric Hospital, Rumuigbo, Rivers State, Dr. Richards Ebeh, Clinical Psychologist, Imo State University, Owerri, Mark Balm Eugene (DCN), Representative of Brig. Politics / NANS Calls On FG To Adopt A Homegrown Language As Official Language by Daudupress: 4:17pm On Aug 13, 2022
NANS calls on FG to adopt a homegrown language as official language to foster unity

The National Association of Nigerian Students has called on the federal government to see the need to adopt a language more like Nigeria's homegrown and officially accepted language for the communication of its citizens.

The call was made on Friday during a one-day Language for Unity Symposium organized by the office of the NANS National Financial Secretary, held at the Army Resource Centre, Abuja in commemoration of the International Youth Day, with the theme: "Intergenerational Solidarity: Creating a World for all Ages".

Speaking at the event, the National Financial Secretary, National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, Comr. Olaseinde Adeyinka ( Sir Newton), said, the language barrier in the country has done Nigerians more harm than good stating that the only way the country can get out of the quagmire is for the Federal Government to adopt one of the country's indigenous languages as Nigeria's official language for communication purposes.
"I feel that would help in uniting all the regions in the country", Adeyinka added.

Adam Garba, the special guest honour while giving a remark pointed out that having a Nigerian official language would be a National symbol of Unity.
"This is a reawakening kind of program where we discuss our sincere identities and how they can be an integral part of evolution, our evolution as a country, and also digital development of our well-being as Nigerian citizens. So we talked a lot about different languages in Nigeria and how they can be institutionalized, how we will respect them as a means of uniting ourselves, meaning, accepting the sincere realities that we are a diverse nation over the proud identity and the National Assembly would be getting a communique from this event and would look forward to seeing them take appropriate actions for a more unifying Nigeria".

Earlier, The President, of Nigerian Youth Congress, NYC, Blessing Akinlosotu, reacting to the theme of the event has this to say, " even if someone is speaking Yoruba for instance, and another person is speaking another, and so on, I want us to see ourselves as one. I also want us to believe that language is just a means of communication. Maybe that is what you are exposed to. If you stay in the north for years, that's what you would definitely be exposed to.
The tribe we are from is not the most important thing. Whether you are from the North, South, West, or East, let us work together so that we can both all together enjoy and develop this country, Nigeria".

Dignitaries at the event include Akeredolu Babajide, DG PPMIU,
Prince Segun Obayando, Foundation- SOF,
Prince Usman Hamzat, Ifako Ijaye, Chairman,
Adamu Garba CEO IPIGroupNG,

Politics / Drop Your Arms And Let's Build Our Country Together-edoh Tells Insurgency Perpet by Daudupress: 4:42pm On Aug 12, 2022
Drop your arms and let's build our country together-Edoh tells insurgency perpetrators

In commemoration of the 2022 Nigerian Youth Day, today 12th August 2022, the United States Habitat Youth Humanitarian Ambassador, Nigerian Youth Ambassador to the United States, Secretary-General Nigerian Youth Congress, and Convener Go and Get Your PVC and Youth Must Vote campaign, H.E, Amb. Raymond has called on Boko Haram members, kidnappers, armed robbers, gunmen, and their sponsors to lay down their arms and ammunition and desist from the act of killings for the sake of the nation's interest.
The loss of lives and properties is causing us too much harm as a nation.

While addressing the media in Abuja, he said the theme of this year's Youth Day is, "Intergenerational Solidarity: Creating a world for all Ages", this can't be achieved if there is no peace. And for us to experience this solidarity, we must love ourselves individually and as a nation. Without love, we can't have a world for all ages. You can see how these things intertwine.

"Nigeria can be one of the peaceful countries to stay if we the Nigerian youth take our stand to make it peaceful and well secured.

" We can make this happen. And that's why we are pleading with the perpetrators to please stop the act so that we can synergize and birth a new Nigeria where we can sleep with our eyes closed. A Nigeria where we can travel to any part of it at any time again without fears of any kind of attack".

Earlier, speaking on the objectives of the Day, he said, the objective of International Youth Day 2022 is to amplify the message that action is needed across all generations to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and leave no one behind. It will also raise awareness on certain barriers to intergenerational solidarity, notably ageism, which impacts young and old persons while having detrimental effects on society as a whole.

Stressing further, he stated that Youth can be a positive force for development when provided with the knowledge and opportunities they need to thrive. Today, there are 1.2 billion young people aged 15 to 24 years, accounting for 16 percent of the global population. By 2030—the target date for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that make up the 2030 Agenda—the number of youth is projected to have grown by 7 percent, to nearly 1.3 billion.

"International days such as this are occasions to educate the public on issues of concern, to mobilize political will and resources to address global problems, and to celebrate and reinforce achievements of humanity.

" So, we urge the government to come to the aid of the youth in all spheres to make the nation a great one", he advised.

Politics / Killing Of Soldiers And Police Must Stop, They Are Humans-raymond Edoh Spits Fir by Daudupress: 4:01pm On Aug 11, 2022
The killing of soldiers over the years is been coming too alarming and seen as a normal occurrence these days since 2009.

Retrospectively, during the administration of President Olusegun Obasanjo, a place where a soldier is by mistake killed, the entire community wouldn't live to tell the story, this had over the years maintained the dignity of soldiers in the Nigerian communities. Obviously, these days, the reverse is the case.

However, on Monday, an International Activist, the Nigerian Youth Ambassador to the United States, who is also the UN Humanitarian Ambassador on Habitat Youth Programme, Secretary General, Nigerian Youth Congress, and Convener, Go and Get Your PVCs and Youth Must Vote Campaign, in a press conference held in Abuja-Nigeria pleaded with Nigerians irrespective of being a Kidnapper, Terrorist, Boko Haram fighter, civilian to please stop killing our soldiers.

According to him, soldiers are from amongst us. They are peoples' Sons, Daughters, Uncles, Aunties, fathers, cousins, and nephews and they occupy sundry levels and degrees of relationships in our communities.

He stressed that people's children are not incorporated into the military to die anyhow. They are there to secure our national sovereignty against external attacks, and thus, they have the right to live their lives to old age.

While speaking, he explained certain scenarios saying, "thousands of our young people in the name of being a Soldier have been killed since 2009 when the Boko Haram insurgency broke, while other criminal activities being called by different names have also taken a toll on the Nigerian troops.

"Terrorists loyal to ISWAP and Ansaru have infested many communities in Niger and other states in North Central and North West, years after destroying many others in North East.

"I can't forget this ugly event on Monday, November 19, 2018, where members of terrorist sect Boko Haram, stormed a military base in Metele village, Guzamala local government area of Borno State and killed over 100 soldiers on the premises.

"The fight did not last for more than 45 minutes, but it was bloody because the Boko Haram fighters had more armament advantage than the soldiers.

According to media trusted sources, "when the soldiers realised the fight would be against them, they decided to retreat from the camp, but it was rather too late. The camp was surrounded by barbed wire, and the enemy fire was coming from the direction of the entrance. They were surrounded.

“One of the drivers of the gun trucks decided to push through the barbed wire so that other vehicles could follow and escape, but the truck got stuck, that was how many of our soldiers in other vehicles and those on foot were massacred.

"Just last month in Maiduguri, Nigeria, at least 30 Nigerian soldiers, and 7 police officers were killed in an ambush after gunmen attacked a mine in the Shiroro area of Niger state.

"Just last 2 weeks, not less than 2 soldiers were killed close to Zuma Rock, and 1 police officer just this morning shut died at his duty post in Jukwoyi, here in Abuja.

"We are tired of these killings. If it continues like this. In the nearest future, I doubt if we would have people recruited into the forces. None would be allowed from any family to join the armed forces.

"Terrorists on the rampage across the country have attacked about 16 military bases in the last 18 months, fuelling concerns that the military was overstretched and needed to restrategize to deal with the criminals, protect its personnel and tackle the security challenges.

"According to Findings by Sunday PUNCH revealed that while some of the attacks led to the killing of soldiers, some were repelled and insurgents killed. It was also gathered that 750 soldiers lost their lives between the third quarter of 2020 and July 2022. Sunday PUNCH reported in April 2022 that no fewer than 714 soldiers were killed as of April. Findings however showed that about 35 soldiers were killed between May and July, 2022. Too bad and too unfair for our soldiers.

"2022 only, there were six major attacks on military bases, witnessed in Borno, Katsina, Kaduna, Taraba and Niger states. These were independent of other attacks on the military, including ambushes, attacks on their convoys.

"On some of the attacks on military bases, terrorists attacked a military base in Sarkin Pawa Town in the Munya Local Government Area of Niger State on July 18, 2022.

"On May 10, terrorists suspected to be members of the Islamic State West African Province launched an attack on the perimeter of the 6th Brigade military base in Jalingo, Taraba State. They were said to have thrown an explosive device into the base around 8:44pm. No casualty was recorded.

"Also, on April 4, suspected Ansaru terrorists attacked a military base at Polewire on the Kaduna-Birnin Road in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, during which about 11 soldiers were feared killed, while 19 soldiers were reportedly injured by the terrorists. "I am assuring Nigerians and the people of Osun State that the election would be peaceful as youths have given me their words to maintain peace and order during and after the electoral exercise".

Speaking further, he urged the security personnel posted for the purpose of the election to remain committed to their assignment and ensure that all precautionary measures are observed.

Similarly, he appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Osun State, to make flexible the collection of PVCs for youths in the state before the end of today 15th July 2022 ahead of the tomorrow's election.
" If it warrants to engage Corps members to help simplify the collection, I urge INEC, Osun state to do so. This is an election that youths can't afford not exercising their politician franchise as citizens of the nation", he added.

Pleading to the conscience of the youths, Edoh charged the youths not to sell their votes, pointing out that if they do, they are only mortgaging the State for a disastrous future worst governance.
"I am calling on mine youths today in Osun State to stop being used in seducing other youths into vote buying and selling. This is the worst of attitude in this century. Say no to vote selling, please.

" If politicians give you money, collect it, after all, it is not their money it is all our money, and then go ahead and vote your conscience.

"In a situation whereby they tell you, go and vote first and let us see before you drop it on the ballot box. Please, tell them, to hell with their money and go out there and vote your conscience. Vote for the person you think can bring good governance, the person that can save the state and make it one of the best states in the country".

Furthermore, he called on the federal government to make the economy viable by creating jobs for the youths pointing out that the importance of job creation can't be over-emphasized in any given nation talk more of a nation as Nigeria where the largest population is from the age group of the youths.

Stressing on the general election, Raymond said, " until we vote wisely Nigeria wouldn't go no were. Many international organizations willing to invest in the country are standing still watching closely on how the 2023 general elections gonna unfold. Who we vote for determines and informs their decision as to whether to invest or not.

" It is in this light I urge us all to vote who will help this country grow. Not people that have nothing to offer if they come in.
We should drop tribalism, nepotism, religion, and favoritism aside and focus on Nigeria our fathers' land.

"Until we understand this, we would have a big challenge in growing in mutual understanding and unity as a nation", he added.
