Sorry I later found out, it was only the mouth piece that was damaged. Most Xiaomi phones don't come with ear piece, u have to buy the ear piece separately.

A friend had a similar experience on this same Redmi 9c. The phone just went off and it didn't come on again just few weeks after purchase. She took it back to the store as it was still under warranty. They took it from her and told her to come get it back later. She got it back weeks later, initial issue resolved but the mouth piece and ear piece had been tampered with, another wahala. She has to return it again, still yet to get it back.
