Most past questions I've seen look like primary school exams. They're fake!!!
To Whom It May Concern
I just want you all new to this thread to consider going through the whole page from (1) to where you joined in especially those seeking for past questions. It took me a few days though to go through from page (1) to (120) where I started and I also had to go through the Navy and Army threads respectively! You'll gain a whole lot of information as a fresh applicant!

Unfortunately, over half of this Airforce thread was mainly about quoting and asking to send past questions which I have been able to go through and found out they where quite irrelevant for a graduate applicant into DSSC.

Well, that could be because I was never the past question type from my school years which affected my grades since I was more concerned about understanding my course deeply than just cramming and giving back word to word to my lecturers who are just too lazy to change questions and make it more technical like the GMAT concept!

That being said, Mimzy007 has constantly emphasize on this GMAT instead of this Past Question thing and that's because she has really had the experience. I personally think, at this stage, relying on past questions is a really bad idea, its no longer a lecturer repeating a past questions thing. Its better to be highly efficient in GMAT than in this soft past questions that have been flying around.

With GMAT, you are HIGHIER!
Without GMAT, you are LOWER!

Current Affairs is just about keeping upto date with important information related to Nigeria and the Armed Forces e.g colonialization, Airforce Chiefs, Military head of States, democracy etc and even questions as easy as who signed the Enlistment notice could be asked. There are other part of this interview that I think most people are not taking seriously and that is the Oral interview or the Composition where you will have to write about yourself and why you want to join the Airforce.

People whose qualifications where not directly listed in the requirement can really turn this into an opportunity to give a concise and related description, convincing enough to change the minds of the screener/reader. Same could be applied if asked during Oral interview to let them know you are the right man for the job.

If you had gone through this thread from page(1), you'll know you don't need past questions to undastand how they set questions and what to expect. Goodmorning Everyone!

Note: Am a learner, and am open to learn more!

please oo..someone talk to me.. I need to be clear on something. My passports were only signed by my LGA chairman and not stamped. Is this gonna be a problem on that day?
I think it will be a problem dear if not stamped by your LG Chairman, would have replied ealier but was waiting for anyone with a better idea or experience!

For a Civilian, its the stamp that really tells if the signature is officially from the specified office.

The Military Officer that signed mine didn't use stamp either even on the attestation of LG and Letter of good character but his name, rank and signed passport photograph on uniform should do the stamping part for me. So he told me not to worry about stamping.

No knowledge is wasted, if an open forum is annoying you, please do yourself the favour of going private!!! Good Morning Everyone.

Just finished 3.2km in 24mins
Dz edmondo app is thrash
its beta one goes to the stadium and train wit a professional athlete
As a developer.. Most phone apps are based on GIGO principles whereby a fixed value is Gabbaged Into the app base on another athletes record time to automatically Gabbage Out distance covered following that time frame.

So, if u can get that exact speed of an athlete u don't know and travel same speed constantly, den it will Gabbage Out an accurate distance for u. So its not actually a thrash afterall.

Unless its installed on a machine that actually does the movement such as a car or Gym house speed runner, u can never get that accuracy from an app!

Yes, we know u are an athlete and can compete with the Kenyans, but please spare us. You have been exercising for god knows when and u want to intimidate others with it. With all this bragging, ur heart will be shattered into pieces when u don't pass the medicals. So shove ur 6.4km up ur a$$.

To other ppl like me who have not been in d game of running 6.4km in 34mins, my advice to u is this, just do the best u can. Try to make ur heart start getting used to some strenuous activities. But don't try to compare urself to anyone and don't feel intimidated by anyone. I run a distance of about 1km daily, morning and evening. U can tell me it's too small, but na for ur pocket. On dt day, the motivation will be there to do more.

Remember; slow and steady wins the race.
Oga Macmilla no worry, let those who can run 3.2 in less than 10mins keep running, on that D-day, you are going see a lot of people running Usain Bolt but when you get half-way, you will meet them seriously gasping for breathe of life lol!!!

Oga Thexzy, are you a maktown Niggahuh Quote a reply for me brother, the name sound familiar from UA!

Please let me ask you this question, these runner up that u just posted up here, was it just a mere jogging @ constant speed that they used to hit that target of 3km in 8min? If you watch them closely, u will discover that their major priority was speed. So when you say is not possible to cover 2k in 8min, I laugh coz its dam very possible. Mimzy even gave an Illustration of a man from Ekiti that cover 3.2k in less than 11min.....will you still say that one is IMPOSSIBLE? Mr. Man all things are possible with God okay + ur serious determination and focus.
I didn't say IMPOSSIBLE lol!! Let's be realistic, Nigeria went for Olympics but couldn't qualify for that race even with all the years of preparation.

Watch the race very well, its on youtube, take a very close look at the way their legs were full stretched, they were not jogging bro, they were speeding! Just don't try comparing yourself with those men on that track, that's years of professional harsh training.

All am saying, watch your timing again and distance that you are estimating instead of intimidating us here with that athletic world record of yours oO! But all the same, when the day comes, we will all see things as it is!!

Dear Doctor, before you show your works in the field of medicine in the Air Force you must prove that you are a soldier, it is the one thing everyone in the military must be before your profession comes to play. This thing has nothing to do with how well you will perform as a doctor like you said but the soldier in you must be fit and that is why until you pass the medical screening you won't be allowed to run. Mind you we will be running about 10kms several days of a week during training, it is what makes you different from you conterparts on the other side.
Chisos!!! 10kmshuh.... Its ok, the only difficult thing here is the Selection board stuff! If only everyone is certain of being picked, that moral will come natural.

Not after the whole streinous preparation exercises, you didn't get shortlisted for reasons you don't know. GOd dey!

What you are saying in essence is that we are not gonna jog for 3.2km, but we are gonna RUN 3.2km.
That is wicked.
My brother, if only good job for dey this country, who go wan suffer this hardship just to join military when you never sure say them go even pick you.

Let's all hope for the best! Was talking to a friend of mine, he joined 2012 and he was telling me the 3.2 doesn't really matter, some people took drugs to run it and stuffs like that... Well, Baba God noni cos me don't do drugs! Would run my best and put the rest in God's hands!

2012 Olympics Results

Men's 3000m (approx. 3km) Steeplechase

First Position: Ezekiel KEMBOI / Kenya / 8mins : 18secs . 56nanosecs
Second Position: Mahiedine MEKHISSI-BENABBAD / France /8mins : 19secs . 08nanosecs
Third Position: Abel Kiprop MUTAI / Kenya / 8mins : 19secs . 73 nanosecs

Men's 5000m (approx. 5km)

First Position: Mo FARAH / Great Britain / 13mins : 41secs . 66nanosecs
Second Position: Dejen GEBREMESKEL / Ethiopia / 13mins : 41secs . 98nanosecs
Third Position: Thomas Pkemei LONGOSIWA / / 13mins : 42secs . 36nanosecs
Source: http://www.olympic.org/olympic-results/london-2012/athletics?fullsite=yes

Now, did I just hear someone say he covered 2km in 8mins without a prior professional training and a standard well maintained athletic runway? Where the hell where you when Nigeria was looking for Alluminium in Olympics?

My brother, ur phone app or estimated distance is seriously messing with your head oO!

TIPS: Beginners who are not working on reducing weight, jogging 3 to 4 days only in a week (7days) is recommended! The interval is to allow you regain form and stamina. 3.2km (2miles) is not an USAIN BOLT thing please!

Start slow, increase your pace and find a stable speed you can maintain for as long as possible. NEVER start with a race just to beat 18mins, I caught a Knee sprain when I tried that the second day of my 3.2 jogging!

From my calculations and research, at a normal constant jogging speed, it takes 30mins to cover a 3.2km (2 miles)! So, if the Airforce expects you beat an 18mins time frame, u might wanna add a little more speed to the jogging!

No. The only acknowledgement mail you will get is the registration notice. I don't think saving the documents will be possible except for the one in pdf format
TIP: you can save those files directly to PDF using NITRO PDF reader application if installed on your desktop. You maybe able to use other application tho':

1. Click to print

2. Choose print to Nitro pdf

3. Name and save it

4. It automatically converts to a pdf document.

That way you can always printout whenever you want!

Same issue here with me bro. This two refree issue self
Am sure there are more than one local government area in your state, therefore, you have more than enough local government chairman/secretary to get it signed. One person can sign for attestation of local government and also sign one referee while the other person can just sign the second referee.

Please, does anyone here know if Letter of Attestation from Formal Institution will be accepted from your Secondary School or it must be Higher institutionhuh Am a little confused because they are both formal institution! Thanks.

I find it surprising that people are still talking about being screened, not to discourage anyone, but the O/C for my Centre enugu left since Friday, and I heard from the O/C of another Centre that they're done with screening, they are already rescreening and collating, hence my last post.
Enugu centre had issues, Ipetu Ilesha Centre why didn't you stick to the dates that was given for that centrehuh?

Lagos Centre still holds till tomorrow for Absentees from various states, so they ain't done with screening at Lagos Centre till after Tuesday 10th! After which they can collate, don't fink theirs anything as rescreening. Thanks!

chairman sir...letter of attestation is not needed at this stage..pls
My Oga, I do not mean this on going exercise now, what is going on rightnow is just to make sure people who are shortlisted for Kaduna are persons with the specified qualifications which was strictly stated in the application guidelines.

whatever happens next after this stage depends on so many other factors, i drop that message not to discourage anyone but rather encourage those who are still sourcing where to sign their form to look further instead of just relying on the options provided. I got an inside tip and decide to share, was that a bad thing to do??

If it was, i already apologized severally, but why this particular dude has refused to understand and even went as far as insulting me as if he knew me in person is what i really don't get! Now i know it was bad of me to share.

I also knew people whose forms where signed by their local chairman and still made it. Having your form signed doesn't guarantee your medical fitness report and a whole lot of other factors but if it ever comes to that point where everybody seem to fit in, you know what next........ So much depends on God but we need to work to earn it. Do your best and let God decide who gets there.

I will nigga! Atleast, i got a job to stick with, hope you don't go suicidal tho' when you get screened out if you haven't already! You sound pretty much like someone with a Bipolar Tendency, just so mentally unfit and that's what the military don't need. Sorry to say this, your case is more than that of a coward.

Hahahaha... Like seriously? I'm so civilian? shocked shocked please what's your rank in the military so I can come to you to sign my attestation form?

It's funny when guys claim they know it all! I wasn't referring to myself when I talked about you making people to panic. Besides you do not know who signed my attestation form, so stop discouraging others. Just like your fellow co traveller is telling people not to apply because they don't stand a chance from CAS list, Oba list, Senators list bla bla

You are not going to be part of the selection board so stop speaking like you'll be there.

You don't know my background so don't tell me about military training.

Thank you
Ok ooo...... Na you talk am ooO! I seriously feel the way you carry the thing for head, and since na you dem employ make you screen me out of the selection board, please do it perfectly.

if my name no show up, i stick with my job! Whether your form was signed by the Chief of Air staff himself or Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, e no trouble me because you self no know weda na my papa for village sign my own.

I see how panicked and discouraged my post made you but no harsh feelings intended, just a view shared with graduates preparing for a military career! The wise ones have picked the sense and are upgrading themselves for what comes next while you are still here quoting me and wailing like some kid!

A piece of advice "The little opportunity given to a monkey to wear clothes does not guarantee it to join the dinning table"

Goodluck to you and Congrats on your appointment as a member of the selection board!

What is true about what you just said? Stop making people panic here. What specific priority are you talking about? That when someone is not successful he or she will be included on the basis of who signed their forms? I really want to get it!

They know everyone will not get a military officer to sign so using such a benchmark amounts to giving some candidates undue advantage!

They can't ask a local government chairman to sign the in essence they want only military personnel to sign.

I've not called you any name please. Stop accsuing me. I'm trying to calm other candidates down before you and your co travellers start making people panic.

Thanks
Hahahahaha.... Very funny guy! Why should anybody panic knowing fully well they won't be picking everybody, yet they applied and willing to take the chance. If i will need to remind you, the Military is not the Police, So yes, they take pride very well in their own. Too many people applied for this and probably very few people were able to get a high ranking Officer to attest for them from their locals. Here is my point you've been refusing to get:

"If by any chance, everybody crosses through and a decision has to be made between a candidate recommended by a high ranking Military Officer and that by even a senator, believe me, that candidate from the Officer will be taken".

But you are so civilian that its so difficult for you to maintain a strong mind instead of panicking from a tip-off! Talking of Benchmark and undue advantage, the benchmark and undue advantage has been set right from when the site was open for application, so the question is:

Why would they allow more than enough application knowing very well they will be picking just a few??

My Guess Answer: So they can get the best out of the best!!

If you are ready for the military, you will never get panicked by a mere info! So stay strong brother, because your mind is going to be heavily tested out there on the training ground, Got it now??

Am sorry mate! I know nothing, meanwhile, whatever you say is the right thing. What i wrote there, i wrote with simple words you don't need a dictionary to tell you the meaning. I never said anything about guarantee nor rejection but rather a SPECIFIC PRIORITY! You can call me names as you like, i understand very well how bitter and painful a truth can be, but its better than a lie. Whichever way, i don't blame you for taking this personal, therefore, i pray you get what you seek.

At times I don't get it when someone comes online to make very annoying unreasonable statements. I read what some people post here and I wonder whether these people are really graduates?

For you to say that NAF wouldn't take an attestation from a Local Government Chairman or Secretary is a stinking lie! Do you think it's easy to get in touch with serving officers from your Local Government? Do you even know them?

Imagine you were in their shoes and you were to sign the attestation forms and then other candidates learnt you are signing and they all come to you to sign over 500+ candidates, what will be your reaction?

NAF knew why they gave candidates other options on who to sign else they won't even bother doing that. They also specified the rank to sign as well.

You are not in the military so stop issuing out your silly hypothesis as FACTS! angry angry angry
Wooow! This dude must be one hell of a half-baked graduate! Its ok, you have your FACTS and i have my SILLY HYPOTHESIS. And since you are a better graduate who know it all, i apologize for sharing my very annoying unreasonable statements. Thank you and goodluck!

NICENEDU29 ,. I really donnot know why people just preconceive things and try compelling people to buy into their own ignorance or should I write deceit? I can swear on what I hold dear, I know 5 of my friends and colleagues that have applied for the DSSC both for the airforce and Army , they were all shortlisted and enrolled solely on merit... Them no sabi anybody from Adam , I can swear on this .... Many a times we just use our own hands to strangle our destiny, just like mimzy wrote, who succeeds without taking a chance? People are getting this on merits year in year out, so please if u feel like not enrolling no more, fine, but stop coming up with lame and ignorant excuses to dissuade others.... It is wicked
As far as i can tell, and i will also like to base this on assumption, so do not be discouraged by it!

Screening at this stage maybe based on the Personality/Official Signature on the Letter of Attestation of Local Government Area and the Letter of Attestation of Good Character. So, people who had their attestation letters signed by High Ranking Military Officers comes first. This is due to the security issues faced by the country where you have a trained military personnel going AWOL. A lot of such officers have been discovered among terror groups in Nigeria. So having a high Ranking Officer in the Armed Forces from same Local Government attest to your good character and also sign your Letters would put you in a better position of getting selected than those signed by Civilians especially Local Government Chairman and their likes.

With the level of insurgency arising all over the country, the armed forces cannot be blamed for this. So, if you have been applying and you haven't been successful, its because such precaution has been taken against your documentation and not the way you have concluded it to be. Thanks!

I applied, Lagos center, i missed my day on Wednesday because i had to make sure my details are properly inline, am a product of Airforce Secondary School, Ikeja and i will be checking in May 10th (Tuesday) to queue up with Absentees from various states for my screening. God help us all.
