Nigerian Referees should at least take the career seriously so they can be doing strong thing to other teams the way that ref did us today. Haba.

1 or 2 or none at all, male or female and they no dey progress like the ones from tiny countries. Kilode sef?

Disorganizing the opposition setup is the key for spaces and then precision passes will help exploit the spaces. We are sending our long balls without adequate spaces for our forwards. That is why you have our forwards running against defenses a lot.
I agree on this. With or without tiki, our team have players and sense to be capable of breaking down teams that sit back. Any excuse of "they park the bus" should not be valid by now. Yet....

Cross+Nod+CK
Cross+Clearance+sharp recovery before opponents reach centre line
Crosses and positioning. That would have wearied them so bad before Osimhen came in. Most of the time they countered us, there was no recoveries until they misplaced a pass themselves or they got to our 25yrd zone. Smh

Magodo all the way

What's Surulere doing on the list?

@seun, pls can we get polls back. This would have been easier with a poll on the OP.

So the fluidity of these team is affected when Iwobi doesn't play? Yet he is the most criticized by fans. Whether game was physical or not, if he played, he will offer more for the front 3 than anyone else. I dunno about Nacho sha. What happened? undecided

When are we ever gonna watch a MOTM performance from SAMUEL CHUKWUEZE playing for the SE?
I really think he should be dropped from the SE for the main time. Let him go and improve at AC Milan. Defensively, attacking, that nigga adds nothing to the SE matches.
He's terrible and gives bang average performances. His best activity on the pitch is jumping on the goalscorers like as if he did anything to the end product. It is time he sits down on the bench. We need a new winger.

The ref is here to give yellow cards and a disallowed goal and a possible pk that var should have rechecked if it was available. That boniface tackle was a pk. Smh.

The middle is not working. Iwobi and Osimhen 2nd half.

As for me, i have Accepted Ndidi is not what we know him to be. I expected nothing exceptional henceforth. Man and Partey in same category. Expect nothing but small small scares

And scoring from corner kicks. We had more than 5 corner kicks, all wasted. Not even a scrap resulted from our corner kicks. Too poor.
We need to work on that. I've been crying about setpieces utility for years yet nobody wants to take it up or give him they're noticing. These things are not mere probabilities again.

We have no tactical personnel to stop Maya Hijikata. Yina cant. Alani can't either. Best bet is making sure we use their weak RB side to attack them. Imuran and Flourish combo. Both attack. Both defend. Any better Olise replacement? undecided

Can they just get Gyokeres already?

The Auba dissent has already set bad precedence for Osimhen and sadly his outbursts was the final coffin nail for that school of thought to hold. Tales of his dressing room issues too aren't helping. Some managers like such a players and sabi influence a change of trajectory, eg Mourinho.

I doubt Arteta is on that level yet. A Victor must wear our jersey. Anyone but Gyokeres abeg.

If we are lucky to beat Japan, we go come go face tiki taka Spain.
No hope really. We're not that fluid.
We are not that cohesive or should i say, decisive and coordinated in attack to upset that Japan backline.

Next up, if they focus on Alani wing alone, 2goals go comot from there. As poor as Ven were, she kept making terrible decisions that almost gave them a goal with just crosses alone. Or is it the captaincy. Cos our last captain was queen of misplaced passes in 1st 2 games.

A 343 or 4231 approach might help suck in the Japan style and reduce damage. Frustration might be the best game plan. I say this with hope because deep down, we are no match for the Japanese normally. They fit do double wetin Germany do us.

We need running against Japan.

Jokes apart. When a coach comes in and starts to disrupt the status quo by leaving out a standing captain and talking with a highly passive demeanor. All of that reeks of a coach who isn't sure of what he wants to do
Infact, one would have thought these kind of coaches were in the past tense of Nigerian football since 2002. But 20years later and we still have such kind of managers. They are watching things but never understanding things. Set awon Bendel Insurance manager. The talking that ought to be their last defense line sef, they sound more arrogant and clueless than smart. Ontop all that JPes affiliation and nothing learnt? Not even in player management? Naaaahhhhh.

The average Nigerian local coach comes with that mindset of upsetting the status quo without a well thought out and cooked plan in place to make such be less of a distraction. The exception are the good ones.

Sometimes good managers are made by excellent/quality assistants. AE I believe understands his strengths and weaknesses which I believe his assistants will help him cover.

To Eguavoen's credit I think he has the respect and trust of his players so he just has to improve more on his in-match reading of the game especially when plan B doesn't work out.
Bench cam kept showing how Daniel refused to rest on the tactical aspect of the game. Im glad AE was cooperative and a listener.

Can they go digital with the tactical books too? Tabs should be what they use by now, not files and papers abeg. Lol.

NFF better get all these necessary grounds covered in next appointment. Don't get someone that the players feel they can match up to in ego. The only kind are the Alonsos, Julians, and Artetas where they're trusted to do whatever they want with the squad to a large extent, no matter how talented a player may be.

now i can see why danjuma benched ajakaye, the few touches she had when she came on were really poor with terrible ball judgement

They no really get passion. The ones that have, it gets killed except they rebel. But power play can also make it impossible to rep here. See Murjanatu of bball team for example. Full support from family.

True
Scoring first helped
So Benin had to come out and play
When they were playing compact in the first half, we were finding it difficult to pass
And because we didn't have ball playing midfielders, we were struggling to control the game

Better teams might have scored us first and that would have been a problem
We can't play with this midfield against better teams
They would punish us severely
That's my issue most time. We should be a side, based on caliber alone, to be cracking down such compact puzzles by now. We just struggle against them and it's really frustrating. We need that formula sha.

We were slow in transition in 1st half anyway.

The only player he once had issue with was Yakubu then because he opted to play Makinde of Palermo Italy instead then

According to him Makinde was in blazing form and he couldn't overlook him simply because him and Yakubu are from the same state and that caused a rift between them

One good thing about AE is that his 23/24 man team selection to a large extent is fair and deviod of questionable call ups
Those years of Makinwa and co. One thing about AE is selection is his forte. But tactically, that's the crux

we need to score more to top the group.
