Guy dey para with manager for playing time ni? I like his spirit sha.

See that sleek chance that Martinelli miss by taking extra touch before scoring the more difficult one. I hope Saka and Kai get on the scoresheets this 2nd half. Esp Saka. We need 4goals to topple city right now. So 2 more at least. Infact let our inverted attacker score again abeg. I wish i could select him in my fpl but it's only 3 per team.

Middle is understatement at this rate. Balls that are let loose in front he's going for them both left and right. Imagine he switches with Timber, make Rice dey rest and Yasu kon do Lockup. I just know Zinny will get minutes. We need that rotation.

Then midfielders
Then defenders

Will all our midfielders score 10 come May?
Will Saka get his 30G/A this season?

Bolton are a possession team that now have to find something to do as a way better possession team is who they're playing against tonight.

Even at Houston Dash their Coaches Dey move her up and down, from Forward to Winger to Wing Back to Right Back..
I noticed she don dey do like the position don taya her kinda. I no like the body language since wwc. Abi na only me notice am? If she can play it one day and we see a difference, it will be good.

Her main position is the Right/Left Wing.

Blessing Nkor has a lot of Speed that can be utilized on the Flanks, I don’t see her as a pure no.9 who can really do the job even though she plays all positions upfront.

She’s still very raw though and need to be well polished.
Teamplayer
Smart Decision making
Positioning
Shot

Polishing will make all these become great attributes for the SF one day. I just love her in that 9 but it's good she can play anywhere upfront.

Maybe we take a look at this 7 upfront..
The first 3 as CF & the last 4 as Wingers, I don’t see us lacking Speed, flairs, Crosses, goals and top football sense having them upfront..

1• Asisat Oshoala 29yrs
2• Chinonyerem Macleans 24yrs
3• Esther Okoronkwo 27yrs
4• Rasheedat Ajibade 25yrs
5• Uchenna Kanu 27yrs
6• Rinsola Babajide 26yrs
7• Blessing Nkor 20yrs

I will put Edna Imade, Ihezuo, Onumonu and Monday Gift as reserves incase any of these ones ain’t available..
Space don choke unless luck shine on these u20 ladies then. Or manager preference for young blood.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by daveP(m): 4:48pm On Sep 25, 2024
Deltamani:
I hope you ain’t missing something?

Rasheedat Ajibade owns one spot already, We just need a very Dangerous/Clinical no.9 and on the left another good forward/winger.

I think it’s high time Someone fight Kanu for that Left wing, at least if she & Babajide battles for that starting spot it won’t be bad.. Blessing Nkor too is more of a pure winger because of her High Speed can play on both sides. The Coaches really need to scout more not sticking to this present Legs..

Let’s not forget that Monday Gift is way ahead of Ona Ajakaye & F Sabastine.
Rash is a regular already so I didn't need to include compared to the others that are still at the entrance of the team in terms of minutes played. So when they become integral, any mix of the quartet will be imagined. By this time, Monday suppose dey start o. Well....

I prefer Nko as a 9. Let Rinsola flank her and Rash/Alozie(far reach? Alozie need to play as rw one day abeg) grin
Kanu does need competition.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by daveP(m): 2:27pm On Sep 25, 2024
Deltamani:
Upfront Ajibade is our only hope to be sincere, the rest ain’t leveling up all, She’s currently the most improved SuperFalcon forward to be sincere. One of the reasons I don’t even recommend the likes of Ajakaye, Sabastine and Co cause we once did that in the past with the likes of Ebere Orji, Esther Sunday etc.

When Esther came from U20 in 2010 we thought she was the best and the one to replace Stella Mbachu because of their ability to play on the flank, the difference btw them was that Mbachu was very fast, while Esther was the most Skillful at the end booooooom… Franny showed up from U17 straight up and overtook Esther & Orji.

Anyhow sha, I have high hopes that one or two good wingers will definitely show up soonest among the likes of Blessing Nkor, Mercy IDOKO, Juliet Bassey and many more to rise up!
You see these 3, I can't wait. Idoko especially. But let's solve that forward line issues first. So that Rinsola, Macleans and Nkor or Ihezuo become starters. We need to fix that front to start getting the vibes of Oparanoze pre-covid form.

You literally said " Jover over to you " in ur post I quoted and now u are saying u didn't ask them to train for it. So why did u call Jover name ? grin

The Jover u called is our Set piece coach whose job is to "train" the players on set piece; It gives an impression that u want our players to train on how to win penalties in matches.

That will amount to putting unnecessary pressure on the team and disrupting their flow of play because they will always have their mind on winning a PK when they are in the box even when they should be aiming at scoring open play goals.

Let our players just focus on being better players by taking their chances when they come. Simple.

Penalty is part of the game and will come naturally when our players are fouled, or opponents handle the ball in the box 18. There's no need to start focusing on how to win penalty; to me that's cowardice. It's more like u are already conceding u may not win the game trying to score open play goals. Going that way will undo some of the good work the team has put in because there's a risk of getting penalized for diving right there.
Jover over to you because he's the setpieces coach. He needs to tell the players to watchout for carelessness and exploit it. Simple.

You think pks come naturally these days?? Don't make me laugh please. Naturally is the odd word to use by farrrrr. For starters, we're the ones suffering from the lack mostly. Let's get it back up. I dunno why you're against this seriously. We need it.

Don't get too comfortable because you're enjoying the way we currently play.

Maybe you've not been watching the way other teams exploit it to advantage. I rest my case.

I once suggested this especially when Saka go jump leg against Brighton when that contact would have been a pure pk and a possible 3pts

I noticed most top teams have high frequency PKs and that's because they exploit any trailing legs expertly. It's no crime to do that at all especially when the defenders are careless. Against Bournemouth last season, after our huffing and puffing, it was smart play by Havertz to cleverly force a pk from Bournemouth keeper that opened the flood gates(2nd leg). Same thing against Crystal palace first leg when Nketiah forced a pk from their keeper (which resulted in our only goal of the game).
Odegaard had exact same scenario as Saka(vs Brighton) against Bournemouth last season (1st leg) and he quickly exploited the defender's carelessness.

It's not always nice to be "righteous" especially in football. We were during Wenger time and we saw how it backfired spectacularly.
God bless you abeg for that last paragraph. We've gotten to carried away with this W that we think we don't need any other means to get ahead. Lwkm. Teams are punishing our good defenders and e reach our turn, we suddenly don't want to cos "we don't need it"?

Punish those defenders abeg. Martinelli for one is a good good starter for winning pk. Smartness. No be everytime we wan rely on style.
You want to be the best, then do WHATEVER it takes as long as it is within the rules.

Our corner kicks setup was what we used to suffer in the past, with defenders bullying snd deliberately fouling Leno, Ramsdale. Now we've turned it around, they're calling it dark arts. grin

The argument is not about clinicality bit over-reliance on one source for goals. Unless you're getting a Haaland who is a goal machine and not injury prone, there's nothing bad in spreading the goals across the forward positions.
He took it there do i indulged him. Why would he undermine such unique attribute that makes strikers noticed?

Like I've said before, we need ALL possible means to goalscoring, a 9 inclusive. Haaland scores important goals. When he's not in xi, the team sets up to spread the goalscoring that even Gvardiol gets on scoresheets. No lele. We need our own rattler too.

There's nothing wrong with our "PK sector". If we are fouled in the box or an opponent handles the ball in the box while it's in play we will definitely get penalty.

Winning penalty is not something any reasonable team should be wasting time in training to practice. How do u even train a team to win penalty? 🤦‍♂️. If u are doing that , it simply means u are not ready to play at all, u will just kill the footballing spirit of ur players .
There is a lot abeg. How will relegation teams be seeing pk against even big teams and we can't even? I didn't say they need to train for it but to EXPLOIT THE HOW. it is part of the game. It is also one aspect of the game used to kill the vibes of the average gunner across seasons. So why can't we use our cunny to our advantage.

We should do what it takes to win abeg. We need alll possible means to our advantage. That's what the game is about. Yes we are sleek with the ball in the opponents box already but stuff like this can help by far to make a difference on days when everyone no get wetin dey sup with goalscoring.

You're talking like this because Raya is saving so the story is different. Lol. You want to wait for days it will be the big difference before you realize we barely get pks?

You want to wait till a UCL semifinal at 99mins before you acknowledge it is a deal breaker?

We need it. We need it. More frequently. We are the team in top 6 with the lowest to start with. We are also the top 6 team with the lowest because of ref overlooked. Naaahh.

I really want us to reignite our PK sector. We can go weeks or months without one, across all competitions. At least let's add it to our "dark arts"
This one go sweet belle. Jover over to you o. Find a way. We'll need this in the UCL in particular.
