Icon79: England players would never amount to anything in world football as long as the British pundits keep over rating them. Most of them are average at best but these pundits make them feel like world class. I was watching Spurs vs Liverpool last Saturday and I almost turned off my TV when I heard the match analyst telling the whole world that Harry Kane is already at Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo's levels!
Can you imagine? Harry Kane who can't dribble to save his life being compared with the GOAT like Leo Messi!! What an insult !!!
That my brother, is why the British players never do well once they step outside the EPL. I am praying and hoping that Harry Kane would go to Real Madrid so he would get exposed by La Liga.
O pari Lwkm? when english born players start plying club careers outside uk, at least 4/10. i'l believe they are ready to prove the world wrong. I tag the final "Spanish Armada final". I hope England retaliates.@U17 WC Final. |

Nig vs Iran (0-0) Formation:4-3-3
Enyeama, Ambrose Oshaniwa(Cb), Oboabona, Omeruo(lb). Onazi, Azeez Mikel. Moses, Emenike, Musa.
Bench: Ejide, Uzoenyi, Gabriel, Eguekwe, Odunlami, Babatunde, Nwofor, Uchebo, Agbim, Ameobi(Moses), Yobo(Oboabona), Osaze(Azeez).
Verdict: We enter Brazil with poor setpieces stats(both defending and attacking). Analysts surprised by seeing inexperienced Azeez in the starting XI. Mikel bossed the game and we got 70% possession, but no shot at goal, despite the Iranian goalie being inexperienced, not good. A.Musa gave his all in 1st half, tired in 2nd, but not removed. He troubled the Iranian def so bad, but no goals.
MOTM- Mikel(got tired 2nd half and made Azeez play his role which backfired.Hence he was removed for Osaze).
Personally, the fatigue level of every Russia-bound SE player must be noted, else... more headache! |

Mujtahida: It was like we were under some form of mass hypnosis in our collective silence regarding the team selection to Brazil 2014. That team was wack. Thank God for a forum like this where the spell of words and hype on particular players making the team will broken cos I know we surely would rigorously examine every player making the cut. Perhaps the respect for the coach Keshi was part of that hypnosis(i rem the press kept uncovering nff's plot to employ Herve Renard and the man that tagged us super chickens@Claude le Roy. That time Pinnick vex me die. We definite have a BETTER TEAM. If time permits, i'l do a head to head on 2014 XI vs 2017/18 XI to be. One prayer though... that Onazi&Ndidi are injuryfree before that tourney(watched clips that showed our opponents at the last 3 wc scored from mistake/absence of dmf at position majorly; that just uncovered a def in shambles before the 1st whistle. |

Another in camp issue is this scorpion sting called 'bonuses'. If i recall well, the class of 2014 threatened not to play france if they werent paid and Ameobi and Ejike were agitators alongside Musa. We must avoid EVERY issue that would be beyond Rohr's control and power. This happened to Lagerback!
Next... can we just understudy the way Brazil and Argentina do their bench selection? Stop taking peeps that arent good enough to bench a starter.... 2014 was the worst bench we ever had at a world cup imo! |

safarigirl:
lol...it's funny now, but I was positively livid when I first saw that World Cup list
Like, I had to Google half the team to know who they were and let's not even consider the clubs these people played for. It was a poor team through and through.
I was even angry Sunday Mba didn't make the team, it was a proper case of monkey dey work, baboon come chop.
I'm glad this team is doing well so far, however, I must warn Ror that these coming months will be the most trying period of his coaching career because THEY will come. Agents, players, the press, hell, family members even...and everyone will be trying to secure a slot, he will be toasted heavily and he will need a strength of mind to overcome the pressure and swim with half of this current team. Asin... watching the highlights again made me wonder if nigerians were under a spell(me inclusive). The press hyped Ameobi, but he tried. same for Ejike. I'l be wary of the press and nff cabal. |

My view on Brazil 2014
The squad was confusing: 3Gks, 7Dfs, just 5mid, and a whooping 8fwds.
Ejike, Azubuike, Odunlami, Oshaniwa, Babatunde, Nwofor, Uchebo, Agbim were all average additions to that team.
In fact the strike force had no connect. wack and tired leg def. di Maria had 6shots at Enyeama and i'll say that team had no understanding, bond except Emenike and Osaze. Ameobi tried.
Cant help but wonder how this was our 2014 squad.

Cant believe only 3 midfielders to 2014. only 3. the most important 2 were always playing, while no.3 kept tasting bench as 1st timer. no.2 injured vs france, but no.3 was rejected by no.1.
counting the forwards we had... what was team selector thinking? perhaps a conflict between best legs vs form! |

Chai. person dey underrate wolves cos they are in championship? they have the same form as man city(no loss in 13games; w9. both top their tables), and are disciplined defensively.
From expression i read on Nacho's face, it seems he may like/dislike a manager on where he's played. |
