Rice was always running and nobody was covering his out of space. That's one of the demerits of Merino in midfield. Even worse is Trossard. Guy thinks a middle role is for dribbling. He can't even backtrack after losing a ball.

They've been knocking on the door for a while now so I'm glad they got it done this time.

It's a huge win for privately owned NPFL clubs as it shows that with the right investment and structure, success is possible.

It's also proof that a club doesn't need to be government-funded to compete at the highest level in Nigeria.

Hopefully, this will inspire more private ownership of football clubs and better management across the NPFL.

I tell you. If they came 10 years earlier and did this feat, by now, half the clubs in NPFL will be all privately funded. The structure and planning, most especially their "toxic" PR made many to know the players, male and female, off the pitch. That's no mean feat. Imagine playing in the NPFL and not even university students know you or your face. Remo has proved an amazing point here.


As for the Governor, the least he can do na photo ops. But we all know a serious sports loving governor will do all to make the state churn our more talents and have more FIFA standard pitches across.
