FATHER OF SICK CHILD RELOCATE BABY TO AN UNKNOWN LOCATION AS SAPELE LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMAN STORM HIS RESIDENCE

Early this morning, I sent a distress message to the Chairman, Sapele Local Government Area, Hon (Chief) Eugene Inoaghan expressing the need of the councils intervention to help fast track the process of retrieving the baby so that we can commence medication process, few minutes after the message he called, saying that he is on his way to the location of the baby that I should meet him up, i quickly hurried and met them up even though i was late.

Upon arriving at the location, the father of the child was no where to be found, only the mother was seen, after the chairman introduced himself to the mother of the child he requested to see the child, but to the amusement of all, the child has been moved out of the house by the father to God knows where.

The Chairman had to request for his phone number and he was called, surprisingly this man said where he is currently is abit far, and that the child is with him (This is the same child that they locked at home few days ago and went for study, we had to go look for them at the study ground before they opened the door) the Chairman employed all entrities within his disposal to persuade the child father to come with the child and was even patient enough to have wanted to wait, but he gave different reasons

It should be on record that should this baby die, we will arrest both father and mother and they will face the consequences. The standard of any religion do not override the right of any child, depriving them of proper medication

A Calabar prison inmate (name withheld) who delivered twins last week at the Calabar General Hospital is dead even as prisons authorities debunked allegations in some quarters that the inmate put to bed within the walls of the prison.

The prison authority stated that the woman did not deliver babies in the prison but at the General hospital Calabar where she registered for ante-natal care before putting to birth.

Prisons Public Relations Officer, Cross River State Command, ASP Effangha Etim made the remark while interacting with LEADERSHIP in his office in Calabar

The PRO of Prisons stated that the prisons authority was shocked when it read some reports published in some of the Nigeria dailies that the woman delivered the set of twins’ right in the prisons yard.


Effangha who tried to narrate the woman’s ordeal stated that some of the newspaper reports were false stressing that such reports were not true.

He said, “The Nigerian Prisons Service, Cross-Rivers Command, has received with dismay media reports insinuating that an Awaiting Trial Female (ATF) inmate of Calabar Prison was delivered of twins inside the prison facility.


“The report is not true as the said inmate was remanded by a High Court in Calabar on 5th November, 2018 with six (6) month-old pregnancy for the offence of child stealing.

In his exact words, the PRO said, “While in prison, she had been under regular ante-natal care at the General Hospital, Calabar adding that in April 17, this year, around 1:30pm when her labour began, she was admitted in the same hospital with Cesarean section carried out on her.

Effangha averred that with the intervention of the Cross River state Commissioner of Health, and efforts of the Prison authority to provide the funds needed for the Cesarean section, the said inmate was delivered of twins: a boy and a girl lamenting that the woman died due to complications arising from the Cesarean section.

The prison’s spokesperson added that the woman was subsequently referred to the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) for further management, where she gave up a ghost in April 19, this year.


The command’s PRO stated that in the last four (4) years, there has not been any delivery in the Calabar prison infirmary even though the infirmary is well equipped to handle health emergencies that may arise with nine (9) medical experts comprising of a medical doctor, registered nurses/midwives and community health workers, as well as back-up medical personnel stationed in the State Prison Headquarters. Effagha maintained that in situations where emergency goes beyond the infirmary, the prison authority quickly refer the case to government hospitals outside the prison.

In his words Effangha said,”The Nigerian Prisons Service, Cross River state command, is pained over the loss of the said inmate after a combined effort by the prison authority, the Cross River state government and medical personnel in the General Hospital, Calabar.


“Authority of the Calabar prison command, assure the public that the health and welfare of prisoners remain its top priority”. Effangha stressed.

What the @Pdp is saying is very true..... I applied to be an adhoc staff for the 2019 elections both electronically and manually only to be told by a source that Inec has selected it's adhoc staff, this happened just 1 week after the portal for registration opened..

Pastor David Ibiyeomie and President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan were honoured yesterday Saturday 1st September, 2018 by the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education in their unified 35th and 36th Convocation Ceremony with an award of Education Crusader.
The Vice chancellor of the University, Professor Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele in his words described Pastor David Ibiyeomie as a Man of God with great impact and result and appreciated him for his contribution towards education in Nigeria. He also appreciated Pastor David Ibiyeomie for encouraging young Nigerian youths educationally by constantly helping the needy through his scholarship programmes and welfare schemes where over 630 students were awarded scholarship in 2016, and over 1000 students within and outside Nigeria enjoyed the same benefits in 2017. David Ibiyeomie was also commended for renovating several public schools.
Also, in attendance was the executive Governor of Rivers State – H.E. Chief Bar. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, The Deputy Governor, H.E. Mrs. Ipalipo Harry Banigo, His Exc. Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan who was also awarded with 'The Icon of Democracy, and other dignitaries.
In his acceptance speech, Pastor David Ibiyeomie congratulated the graduating students. And he also promised to build a standard hostel for the school.
