Pursuit of vanity. The way Nigerian pastors are buying private plane, if I become a president, I'll make sure churches are taxed. CodeTemplar:There's no emotion; I support régulation of the way churches run their book. Founder of South Korea's largest church was tried and convicted for using church funds lavishly. Another pastor in Singapore was also jailed for using his church money to fund his wife's music career. Those are countries where the law works. |
Aside Atiku whose campaign jingles I've seen on TV, Buhari has none, as far as I know. Doesn't this mean that Nigerian politicians do not take us seriously? |
In an ideal situation, Atiku and Buhari should be having debates nearly every week and visiting new states, just like it happens during the US election whose mode of governance we copy. |
Am I the only one who has noticed that campaign by both leading presidential candidates, Buhari and Atiku, have been very low, if not nonexistent unlike what we had in 2014/2015? In the last election, both Buhari and Jonathan visited nearly all 36 states of the federation unlike now that both Atiku and Buhari are doing regional campaigns, meaning they will be visiting only 6 or 7 states each. |
Gaddafiyusf:How do you mean, or you just feel like using that expression without considering if it really fit into this context? |
In terms of corruption, the difference between Buhari and Jonathan is that while Jonathan was in the know of all the corruptions taking place in his government and chose to look the other way, Buhari has no clue at all. He doesn't know anything aside what he's told by his Hausa Fulani brothers who he has surrounded himself with. |
I can say that this is totally false, because Shagari was overthrown 3months after he won re-election. So there was still a huge nearly 4 years before another election. If Shagari had been a Christian, the narratives would have been that Buhari overthrew him because he was a Christian. I don't like Buhari's leadership style and behaviour, but it's time we citizens refused to allow politicians to use our heads to play betting, using tribal or religious inclination, like Obiano is trying to now. |
If he's not contesting for any post in 2019, then I'll say it really shows how much this man loves his people. ![]() ![]() |
CilicMarin:Why is it that when opinion pieces are going to the front page, the mods don't edit the foul words before pushing them over to FP or even correct grammatical or spelling errors where they occur? Cc: Seun, Lalasticlala |
One of the biggest deceptions of the social media is the crave for Facebook and Instagram likes. |
Wow! Dino would die from so much heat, especially during this cold harmattan and the fact that his ₦15k Tiger generator recently got spoilt. ![]() ![]() |
And must these things be broadcast on Facebook? |
yomi96:That comment was a direct sarcasm and laughable statement, so why those unnecessary vituperations?? |
I can never rejoice to the death of someone. But we always pray that God should judge thieving politicians and other looters, but when they disgracefully meet their Waterloo, we begin to cry witch-hunt or something similar. It's well. We shall continue that prayer. If the current service chiefs are also looting, their own time too is coming. |
This is what Buhari would never do. He's so rigid and has this annoying I-don't-care attitude. He thinks the thronging northerners that climb trees to hail him whenever he goes there, is enough to make him win election. Okoyeeebos:To all of you tribal bigots here on Nairaland, everyone is either Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba here. Meaning the rest 240+ tribes do not own Nairaland accounts. Sorry for you. Balderdash. Endorsement by the highest bidder. This same set of people came to Aso Rock to endorse Jonathan in 2015 and promised him phantom number of votes, but the rest is history. |
I see this man gunning for the presidency in 2023. Akpabio is a very good presidential material by all metrics, aside the fact that 98% of Nigerian politicians go into politics for the sake of amassing wealth. What himself, Fashola, Rotimi, etc, did in their respective states, is still fresh on our minds. |
If truly this is the list, then congratulations to the deserters. They don't deserve to be sent to face BH ill-equipped and poorly motivated. Imagine soldiers on the front line complaining of hunger! What silliness and lack of empathy from those who ought to care! But this is a little bit complicated; in youth service, corps members from the south are sent to the north while those from the north are sent down south. Also, many of the soldiers of Operation Pulo Shield in the Niger Delta are from the north. I suppose that's just the rule. My grouse with this deployment therefore is that these police officers are complaining of having not been trained enough for the assignment they're being sent for in the north east. |
Hmmm |
roundman:The probability of Buhari winning is lesser than it was back in 2015. Not being corrupt is not enough to re-elect him. There are so many indices voters factor in before making a voting decision. He fails woefully in being a unifying person (nearly 90%of security heads are from the north), he lacks sympathy for families of soldiers and farmers killed, he's very slow and indecisive, etc. |
SolutionMee:Is this a joke or you're serious? And if yes, what has informed your change of mind? |
Is our president actually 83 years? Lalasticlala, what sayest thou? Is this not good for Buhari's birthday on a lighter note ? ![]() ![]() |
I intended this title as a form of joke. But the truth is that this is quite funny to say the least. ![]()

Fake news. Nobody was killed. Why are fake news threads not being taken down on Nairaland as quickly as duplicates are easily locked? |
OK ... |
Buhari keeps shooting himself in the foot. Simple tact he lacks and this might send him back to Daura against what his praise singers think is possible. Trump was continually accused of being a woman and Black/Latino hater. To shame his accusers, since he became president he has been appointing women and blacks left, right and centre, to the disappointment of his opponents who wanted to continue to latch on to that narrative. But Buhari is not interested in such. He keeps proving his accusers right. |
Hahaha. I can see many potential and already-into-it Yahoo boys above me denying it, as usual. They know it's truth, but they'll invade any thread exposing the wickedness of yahoo ritual to counter the authenticity just to ward off guilt from themselves temporarily. I laugh. Judgement is coming for una, just like your friends who have already received theirs and are no more or are now a shadow of themselves. |
Juliusmalema:You are not Igbo, just as I'm not. But keep on deceiving yourself and spreading hate using numerous monikers, if that's what gives you fulfilment. Big pity. |
I can see Bifraudexposed aka juliusmalema aka....causing a lot of confusion here. What do I know sef. ![]() |
