“The report also listed other high-profile Nigerians who it claimed are purportedly under investigation for corruption to include former Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance under ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, present Minister of Solid Minerals Development and former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, a sitting judge of the Federal High Court, Hon. Justice Abdu Kafarati, among others. To the AGF now these people are gods abi? No be only high profile.... Nigerian leaders are still glorifying corruption...SMH. When the incumbent PM of Israel is being investigated by his own AGF and the AGF has even charged the PM's wife to court for corruption we're here glorifying thieves that if a military govt should take over tonight would all throw into a 2x2 cell without batting an eyelid. Until we begin to have convictions in the court we're yet to confront corruption, no matter how much we recover. |
Immodest dressing. What should be the exclusive preserve of the husband is being broadcast to the public. Evil trend. |
yaki84:I never said I'm against giving them allowance; did I? But using extra money to "motivate them" should come from either the FG or from a governor's private pocket; not using public funds to appeal to the emotions. |
Nigeria's problems are many but one of the most conspicuous is mediocrity and doing things by emotions. Super Eagles are paid to play matches, winning should be their utmost priority. Why then do they need extra morale booster before they can win? I think we're simply not ready to move forward as a nation if we keep on walking this mediocre track. When our football team play you'll start seeing people telling us how football unite Nigerians. Kai...this is awkward and a 16th Century mentality. What country have you ever seen where its citizens wish its sporting opponents defeat it? Politicians are just playing ludo with the masses' head using emotional statements. The earlier we realize it the better. |
Beer parlour gossip. Which one is point blank news? |
That Lawal Daura of DSS is not helping this government at all. From what he has been doing so far, he has shown he has no regard for the rule of law. He behaves as if there were no courts at all. He arrests, locks you, throws away the key, forgetting that Buhari will leave government one day and he'll be at the mercy of whoever will want justice done to him for his flagrant disregard of the law. |
I do not claim to believe this story completely, but there's every possibility it happened. But people who have always chosen not to believe in supernatural happenings would still pass it off as sleep disorder. If you think Africans are the only ones who believe in the existence/power of voodoo, then you're very unlearned! Or you think all those American movies featuring Zombies, blood-sucking, flying, unkillable creatures, and other horror depictions were written just from figments of imagination and do not occur in reality? |
Those of you commenting above, I'm just shaking my head at you guys. This guy is simply either mentally deranged or just looking for attention and you're feeding him guts by commenting on his threads. Judging from his moniker, his threads deserve no view from Christians who know their onions let alone commenting. Others have done more than him here on Nairaland and when they got fed up, they simply gave up. |
omenkaLives:Sincerely you and NgeneUkwenu are not helping matter at all. This is too low; in fact I'm stunned that you're still behaving like this. You cannot kill hate with hate. If you stick to intelligent arguments without these, pardon me, childish name-callings and insults, you'll still make your point and be "famous". How would you feel if you one day discover that some of the Igbo guys you exchange insults with here on Nairaland turn out to be your friends or acquaintances you don't even know are on Nairaland? |
No single crisis joh! Former military generals, defense chiefs, governors, billionaire business men, etc, have been arrested at one time or the other in Nigeria, and life continued. Can anyone tell me if Kanu comes near to being PA of any of these people? Why are IPOB guys giving their lord the position he doesn't come close to? |
butterflylion:Bros, you cannot win a soul using this approach, unless just want to display your intellectual capacity to argue and throw insults and tirades. What do you think? |
Nairaland should be among those to be heavily sanctioned. When they cough out N50m fine, they'll step up their work. |
Integrityfarm and Naturalman, why are you guys embarrassing yourselves in a public space? Why do Igbos who are from different state envy and stab each other, and are always in a contest of superiority? |
The way IPOB talk with disdain about the army, you'll think there are no Igbos in the high echelon of the Nigerian army or that it's truly a Fulani army. Such hate and arrogance. |
IPOB and lies. When did Arab become a spokesman for Israel, their avowed enemy? |
Before it was Col Umar, now it's Danfulani. I thought you people said Kanu can never be arrested again. Why then are you people going helter skelter looking for favorable opinions to publish to win sympathy for yourselves? The very day he will be arrested may be the day Sultan or Emir will say they should not rearrest him. ![]() |
Ok |
Life is sacred, they should shoot with caution. But that's the best thing to do. The FG has long allowed these people to cross their boundaries. |
Lai is not on Twitter; that's a parody account, just as @thembuhari. Mynd44 take note. |
I hope he wasn't hit by the bullet, but the policeman was doing his job. It's long passed the time Police invade Ipob rallies, seize their anti-state flags and costumes. If not Nigeria will start looking like a joke. |
Blue3k:I've always noticed you're one of the very few here who don't engage in tribal bashings, insults and name calling. You always present sensible arguments to counter your opponents viewpoints. Pls don't fall for the trap of delving into ethnic fights. |
Better late than never. The guy should be bundled back to Kuje in less than a week's time. Kanu is just another Nigerian, there's nothing to fear about him. While other countries are jailing their former presidents and their citizens are going to sleep with their two eyes closed...abeg who's Kanu? |
successincentiv:So people like Ibori, Orji Kalu, Saraki, and all other thieving former governors, bank CEOS, etc, EFCC charged to court - were taken to court without evidence? |
GoldNiagara:That's true - a rare exception. But the corrupt supreme court later overturned the conviction. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/151428-supreme-court-freed-bode-george.html |
DaniDani:Countries like South Korea and Japan whose economies are driven by manufacturing and export especially, intentionally keep their currencies low in comparison to the dollar, to favour their export. It doesn't affect the local purchasing power or the populace a bit. |
comshots:This is not even a matter of amending constitution or the law. The law we already have are not being followed by the judiciary. Wasn't Saraki recently acquitted of corruption by the CCT? The truth is that even if Nigeria should make a law that anyone convicted of corruption should be hanged, no judge will ever convict anybody. They'll simply collect their own share of the loot and keep on adjourning proceedings. |
Elmojiid:Can you explain? |
