Congratulations. Pateda26: Hallelujah! It's RFV...
Not too long but a roller coaster daunting but eventful journey.
My siblings in Canada have been on my case to relocate but for some weird reasons I rather prefer to just do visit and come back. Until I got married and my wife became so scared of naija wahala. Easily my people were able to make her start the process.
She applied in mid month of Dec 2020, for our ECA and used etx for transcript, we both have masters from UNN but surprisingly, her WES was completed in first week of Jan 2021 while mine was eventually completed in June 2021. That delay got me involved because of transcript issues and that's how my interest started, coupled with the lack of foreseeable end to insecurity and above all the kids future.
My wife's first and only IELTS result came ending of June, 2021 with just an average score of 7 (I didn't write IELTS). This was enough to enter the pool. We both have more than a decade work experience from a single organization.
As at when we joined pool our CRS was a paltry 347! Before we got nomination it dipped to 327 due to birthdays, lol. So cos of the low score we dont visit the EE portal, we were focused on getting PNP.
So just as the EE profile was created, an EOI was submitted for SINP and within few days we got an ITA. At this point, I now put on my researching cap and carried Canada immigration matter as case study especially SINP.
I realised since we didn't have POF ready and SINP has a rigid 3months old POF rule, we had to painfully ignore the ITA and went all out to gather fund. When it expired we were now set and ready to receive another ITA. Unfortunately, the rules have changed! SINP draws paused and eventually health professionals need to get job offer to be considered!
In between this period of dilemma, we took a stroll into the EE profile and found notification of interest (NOI) sitting pretty but now old in the account!
AINP sent us NOI end of September, 2021 but we didn't get to see it until mid November! It was a rush of emotions. We noticed that, we didn't accept to click getting mail option. So we couldn't get mail from EE portal and since we weren't expecting any miracle we just abandoned the account.
AINP usually gives 2weeks for applicants to accept their NOI else it goes invalid. Well, we sent an acceptance using the link provided and also followed it up with a letter of clemency, stating why we missed it.
Fortunately, after 48hours, we got a response that we can continue with the same application under same stream. That was the first miracle for me in this process.
Unfortunately, cos of the experience we have had with SINP as regards health professionals and Canadian licensing. We opted to fill in another NOC that does not require license during the submission of application. This was even recommended by the licensing authority of my wife profession in Canada, cos licensing can take some time and makes immigration process long.
So after we submitted AINP application in Jan 2022, by march most of the applicants we submitted same month have been nominated but ours was not touched. We knew that our delay was cos we did not apply with the NOC upon which we got NOI. We didn't know what to do. We were scared to make any move to avoid disqualification.
On a fateful night, kidnappers came and made attempt close to our home, the gunshots were terrible! It was in a prone position, lights off, shivering, that I drafted a letter of change of NOC for my wife to send to AINP. We gave them reasons why we had to deviate from the original NOC based on the recommendation of a regulatory body over there. We showed all evidence, dropped links to the website quoted and prayed. This was around April 10, 2022.
About 2weeks after, my wife was called by AINP, for some fact check. The agent is a Nigerian so the talk flowed well. He asked for her NOC, and she told him the initial NOC filled and that she sent a mail for change to the main NOC. The officer said,he's calling cos of the mail (our second miracle) and fortunately for us, the reference letter submitted was in favour of the new NOC as well.
Nomination came the following day as my birthday gift, after we sent the payslips he asked immediately.
Unfortunately, EE draw happened that same day before we could link the nomination to EE. So early may ITA arrived and we submitted application using same documents used for AINP. Our reference letter was about 6months old, spouse foreign work experience was clicked but since I had collected my reference when we applied for my wife's, so I just uploaded it as asked. Thank God mine wasn't assessed cos the job duties no too rhyme at all with my chosen NOC. We didn't see IRCC guideline when we were making request for reference letter. We only wrote it as our usual routine came to mind.
My wife's reference letter was better off but can be better. Remember we wrote her letter to have semblance with that initial NOC we filled during AINP?
It was when we got nomination that I joined this group. I had a lot of struggle within me to change the reference letter but cos of the tussle involved in getting it from work. We just decided to use it because we didn't want to delay any further. I was not comfortable with some entries too on our marriage certificate.
Anyways, I remember in one of my queries when the amiable @Graciouswords advised that I should look for WhatsApp group of my AOR and join to know when eligibility is passed for people around me. That advice was the bombard. Those WhatsApp groups are real tension relievers.
My journey from AOR to RFV is about 86days
AOR May 29 MED Aug 19 BIL Completed Aug 22 RFV Aug 23
If this is not God's grace I wonder what is?
Thanks You Jesus!!!
PS: Pls to submit passport in Nigeria to VFS where biometrics was done, do one need to go online to do anything? Are we making any transmission payment for dependents who didn't capture for biometrics? The recent announcement that one can walk in to submit passport physically in Nigeria, does it mean that passport are now being stamped in Naija also? Is someone residing in naija but outside Lag and Abj supposed to just courier passport 2way to Abuja/Lagos and that's all, even with below 14years old dependents? Pls what's the process?
I wish everyone still waiting for the golden mail Godspeed and favour. |

Hello, please I sent you a mail request. Please, how best do I go about the proof of accommodation? Also, can you please clarify this aspect, "Intention to leave the country once the employment contract ends.". Thank you. u3fine: Sweden Job Seeker Visa: A Complete Guide
April 2022 came with its own share of glad tidings for Migrants seeking employment in the Constitutional Monarchy as Sweden made an announcement for the introduction of a new visa, specifically for job seekers. More often than not, job seekers are faced with the challenge of securing a job before moving abroad. This doesn’t always work as expected and has caused a major setback for such migrants. The Sweden Job Seeker visa which was meant to take effect from the 1st of June 2022 gives prospective migrants the rare opportunity of moving to Sweden even without a job offer.
What is a Job Seeker Visa? It is exactly as it sounds. A Job seeker visa is a type of visa that permits foreigners to immigrate on the basis of job hunting. As such, you are allowed to stay in the country for a specified period of time as a job hunter even when you haven’t secured a job offer yet.
Sweden job seeker visa Source: nairametrics.com As a result of the shortage of labor, Sweden joins the list of European countries which allow foreigners the pleasure of migrating in search of available jobs with the use of a Job Seeker visa.
How Long Does a Sweden Job Seeker Visa Last for? The expected minimum validity for this category of visa is 3 months. However, the permit can be extended to a maximum of 9 months.
What are the Conditions for applying for a Sweden Job Seeker Visa? Before making the move to apply for a Job Seeker visa in Sweden, ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria. These include:
Completion of studies at an advanced level. Financial stability to be able to support yourself throughout your stay while on a Job Seeker visa. A well-laid out plan to seek employment in Sweden or be self-employed. A comprehensive health insurance to receive medical care in Sweden. A valid passport. Note that your permission to stay on a Job Seeker would not be extended beyond your passport validity. A Sweden work visa to avoid delays in compliance upon securing a job. This is particularly important for those who aren’t citizens of a neighboring Nordic country to Sweden. A letter of permission issued to the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR) to grant the right to contact your educational institution for the verification of all educational documents submitted. Proof of funds expected to cover your cost of living in Sweden throughout the period as well as enough money for the journey back home. What are the Required Documents for a Job Seeker Visa Application in Sweden? The documents needed for the application include:
Exam certificates (where applicable). University transcript. Bank statement with proof of funds. Comprehensive Health Insurance document. Letter of consent that gives UHR the right to contact your institution in order to verify your academic documents. Please note that all documents that are not in English or Swedish have to be duly translated to any of these 2 languages. This is to be done by an authorized translator.
How Much is Needed as Proof of Funds for the Sweden Job Seeker Visa? A minimum amount of SEK 13,000. This is equivalent to $1200 and it’s for a period of 1 month. For a 3-month visa, a minimum amount of SEK 39,000 is needed, equivalent to $3,600. For a 9-month validity visa, an approximate amount of SEK 117,000 (approximately $10,800) is needed.
Can I Work with a Job Seeker Visa in Sweden? The Sweden Job Seeker visa is strictly meant for and restricted to the sole reason of job seeking. As such, it isn’t sufficient to work in Sweden with it. Upon getting a job, it is mandatory to apply for a Sweden work visa. Unlike the former, this visa allows you to work and also allows your family members and dependants to join you in the country.
The Sweden Work Visa Employees in Sweden can only be allowed to live and work in the country if they are in possession of a Sweden work visa. The exact type of work visa however, depends on the employee’s nationality or occupation.
Types of Sweden Work Visa EU Blue Card: An EU Blue Card is meant for highly skilled workers who have jobs in specific professions, possess a university degree and/or a five-year professional work experience. The EU Blue card is a dual purpose work and residence permit.
Sweden work visa Source: science visa info.com Intra Corporate Transfer (ICT) Permit: This is meant for transfer workers whose employers are located outside the EU and are being transferred to the Swedish branch of the company. The ICT permit is only available for employees working in a managerial or specialist capacity.
Sweden work visa Source: beingcanada.com Eligibility Criteria for Obtaining a Sweden Work Visa The conditions for obtaining a work visa in Sweden are distinct for both employees and employers and must be fulfilled by both parties. For employees, the eligibility criteria include:
A valid passport. A job offer that is in line with the Swedish collective agreements or the occupation’s standard. A minimum monthly salary of SEK 13,000 before taxes or a salary on par with the position. Employment offer which covers health insurance, life insurance, occupational injury insurance, pension insurance and social security of the employee. Proof of accommodation Intention to leave the country once the employment contract ends. Employers, on the other hand, also need to meet certain requirements before hiring a foreigner in Sweden. First and foremost, the vacant job position for which an employee is being sourced for must be advertised on Sweden’s Work Association website (Arbetsförmedlingens website) for a minimum of 10 calendar days. Other requirements include:
Obtaining approval from the concerned trade union for the salary and job description. Making a job offer for the employee stipulating the length of employment. Creating an online visa application for the employee with the Swedish Migration Agency stating the employee’s date of birth, citizenship information, education, and email. After these have been done, the prospective employee is expected to receive an email to signify the start of the process from his/her end. Submission of all relevant documents by the employee such as a passport, an employment offer, and a statement from the trade union. Depending on the nationality of the employee, two final processes need to be completed after which the application must have been processed. The migrant could be a visa free national or a non-visa free national. As such, there would be differences in the registration of biometrics, date of assumption of office and issuance of residence permit cards.
Visa Free Nationals For a visa free national, you are allowed entry into Sweden and assumption of duty right from the first validity date of your work visa. The registration of biometrics such as capturing of photos and fingerprints can be done in Sweden itself. The Swedish Migration Agency office is responsible for this as well as issuing your residence permit card.
However, if within the past 180 days, you have spent more than 90 days in the Schengen region as a visa free national, then you will be regarded as a non-visa free national and required to follow the steps for the non-visa free nationals.
See the types of Schengen Visas here.
Non-Visa Free Nationals The opposite is the case for non-visa free nationals. Rather than registering and obtaining the residence permit card in Sweden, a non-visa free national will be required to visit the Swedish embassy in his/her country of residence or the nearest one to get fingerprints and photos captured and duly submitted. Only then will a residence permit card be issued. The residence permit card for non-visa free nationals is a category of visa which allows its holders gain entry into Sweden and any other Schengen countries. It will always be needed every time the holder leaves and enters Sweden or any of the countries within the Schengen region during the period for which the permit is valid.
Sweden work visa Source: sverigesradio.se How Much Does it Cost to Obtain a Sweden Work Visa? A typical work visa in Sweden costs approximately SEK 2,000 This is equivalent to about $200.
How Long Does it Take for a Work Visa to be issued? The waiting period for the issuance of a work visa in Sweden is dependent on three main factors: the applicant’s place of work, the mode of submission and the mode of employment. Nevertheless, work visas get delivered within one to three months of waiting.
What is the Validity Period for a Sweden Work Visa? A Swedish work visa remains valid for a maximum period of 2 years after which it can be extended for an additional 2 years.
What is Comprehensive Health Insurance? A comprehensive health insurance is a scheme that covers all medical care including emergency care, dental care, hospitalization, as well as repatriation for medical reasons. While applying for a Job Seeker visa in Sweden, it is important to have proof that the Comprehensive Health Insurance in your possession will remain valid for the entire visa validity period.

Congratulations Ella2000: Praise the Lord! Our God is awesome I honestly wasn’t interested in applying to Canada. I was part of the ‘if we leave Nigeria who will be left to build it’ gang. LOL! Till a hard reality slapped me in the face with our horrible health care system. I lost a dear loved one, and money couldn’t help us in that situation; the system was defunct! It’s then I knew I had to start the process.

You would be fine. The Universe would align in your favour. Dimple10: I'm posting this here for me.
Today has been a very off day. I've been in a funk all day, not exactly sure why but the thought of everything is weighing me down.
I've cried my eyes out in the last few minutes hoping to feel better but i don't.
Here's hoping that the universe hears me and send some good news my way.
Fingers crossed. |

Good evening ma,am. Please I have a question concerning this; can one still apply for the NB Link that was posted some days back even though ones NOC was not among those listed. GraciousWords: Have you explored each of the PNPs in detail? That is your best bet since their criteria are so different. You could also try the New Brunswick info session link that was posted some pages back. |

I'm sure you would have done your IELTS, just download your ECA from your WES Timeline then you jump into the pool; you can also explore PNP options too since FSW is still on hold for now. NellyG93: After the evaluation of results from WES, pls what's the next thing to do? |

Good afternoon. Please how can i contact you? I would like to get some info about Poland. Thank you Amanee: You still don't get the point, nothing stops you from pursuing PR countries from wherever you are and the process is easier plus you get to enjoy the perks that comes with living in a first world country. The UK cannot chase people out if their stay is legal. From my own experience, I started thinking about moving to Canada in 2019 and was about to evaluate my degree before Covid struck. Everything Canada was put on stand still but I got to know about studying in Poland. Long story short, I will be completing my tuition free masters studies in June and I was given a lifetime contract by my company which made me process a 3 year residence permit instead of the usual 1 year. I'm still interested in getting a Canadian PR so I've not given up on Canada but in case the doors close, I have a working plan B. Moving to other countries in the meantime doesn't detract from your Canadian dreams |
