Christianity EtcRe: As A Devoted Christian Should She Study Islamic Studies In The University? by davidque007(m): 12:51pm On Sep 13, 2015
ProphetUdeme:
My cousin applied law in this year's jamb and also wrote the post utme exams but unfortunately her name was not released and she took the supplementary form and the staff at the school's admission unit told her she will be admitted to study Islamic Studies.
But this girl is a devoted born again Christian and since the doctrines of Islam and that of Christianity are in direct contradiction as it might affect her walk with the Lord. She requests for advice.
Should she take up the course as she has been home now for 3 years due to lack of admission, and she says she cant stay home any longer.
She needs your advice please
Why on planet earth should you even consider asking such an unreasonable question. Why should it even be a consideration? Am shocked that a "christian" is even asking such a question. There is no reason a christian should go study islamic studies and vis versa. Has your cousin finished reading through the book of genesis? Let me guess the answer, no ,am sure. Be patient God will always take care of his own. You are a faithless person for u to even consider such a stupid action.
PoliticsRe: Labour Rejects Aregbsola’s Half Salaries - PUNCH by davidque007(m): 1:17pm On Sep 12, 2015
I don't think most of us get the true magnitude of this debt issue. Government is the largest single employer of labour in any state. The ramification of the Largest employer of labour owing is this: direct workers surfer, incure debts, the market women who sell food looses customers or sells on credit, shop owners all over the state loose sales, schools are owed school fees, banks get less deposits, less loan servicing, hospitals also incure debts the list of the ripple chain effect is endless, part of the money eventually returns to government in taxes and all sorts of revenues

Aregbesola is setting the APC up for eviction in the next election. A common trend in the southwest is the eviction of a non-performing government. Aregbesola should have borrowed a leaf or leaves or even a tree sef from more knowledgeable governors and work to cut government spending by reducing or merging ministries with similar functions, reducing permanent secretaries, cutting his and other top officials salaries, introducing the treasury single accounts(TSA) also like the FG and others are doing, effectively block all financial leakages to reduce government spending and increase government earnings. Instead he chose to surfer his people and witchunt does who dare to call for his impeachment. What a shame. I pray for the people of Osun State

John 3.16 says What a man sows he shall reap grin grin grin
Is it just me, or did this guy just quote John 3:16 wrongly. You are definitely not a christian, that is the one scripture that ALL christians know even in their sleep. This is John 3:16 - "  For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life."

My problem with most people who comments on nairaland is that they make inferences and judgements from an ignorant, chauvinist and biased point of view. Some just want to hear that something bad is said about a person they don't like so they latch on to it. The most misleading source of information is the internet media: blogs and online newspapers etc. For example, when Bsp oyedepo was said to have said that 'he will open the gates of hell on anyone that didn't vote jonathan', that news was so fake, so mischievious, a clear attempt to paint him black. If you listened to the message of that service you wouldn't hear such at all, then where did it emanate from. Many other news that appear in blogs and other online sources are just as fake and mischievious. However, am not saying every news is fake, but many are fake

PoliticsN4bn Uncovered In 470 Accounts, Says El-rufai by davidque007(op): 11:43am On Sep 07, 2015
The Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai said on Saturday that with the adoption of the Single Treasury Account, the state had traced and uncovered N4bn stashed in 470 different accounts in 23 commercial banks.

He noted that the Peoples Democratic Party administration had been operating these (470) accounts in different banks over the years with various names.

According to the governor, but for the adoption of the Single Treasury Account system, nobody would have traced and discovered the accounts or recovered the said money.

El-Rufai, who spoke through his deputy, Barnabbas Bala, stated this at the Third Town Hall Meeting, initiated by the government to interface with the people of Southern Kaduna senatorial district.

It was held at Kafanchan, in Kaura Local Government Area of the state, on Saturday.

The deputy governor, who represented his principal, said through the Single Treasury Account, the government was able to trace and discover the said amount in the banks.

He also told the audience that El-Rufai was on an official engagement outside the country.

The El-Rufai administration, in early August this year, announced the adoption of the Single Treasury Account and directed all commercial banks with the state funds to remit such (money) to the Central Bank of Nigeria.

The deputy governor while addressing the people of the zone, said the system had begun to yield the state result as the government was able to trace and discover N4bn.

The amount, he said, was in 470 different account names and banked in 23 commercial banks by the government of the PDP in the state.

He said the STA accounting system, which had been in operation since September 1, was aimed at ensuring transparency and accountability in governance.

He said, “With the system, we have been able to trace and discover the sum of N4bn in different account names in 23 banks. The STA is to ensure that public funds are traceable and for the sake of accountability in the state.”

He also disclosed that despite the autonomy given to local governments in the state by the current administration, some councils in the state were highly indebted.

CrimeGraduate, Four Others Nabbed With N57m Cocaine by davidque007(op): 11:51am On Sep 02, 2015
A 28-year-old university graduate of Economics, Nonso Akubueze, has been arrested along with four other suspects by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for alleged drug trafficking.

It was learnt that Akubueze and the other suspects – Simon Omoluonye, Obidike Onodyer, Friday Onyeabor and Emma Ifoh – were apprehended at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, with 11.5 kilogrammes of cocaine substances valued at N57m.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the suspects had smuggled the drug into the country from Brazil.

Akubueze, who was found with 1.1kg of cocaine hidden in his luggage, said he had left Nigeria for Brazil with the hope of getting a good job but his expectation was dashed on getting there.

He said, “I am a 2009 graduate of Economics but I have no job. I left Nigeria in search of job opportunities. My condition of living in Brazil was worse than when I was in Nigeria. It was my friend that gave me the bag containing the drug.”

Omeluonye , 28, said he was to be paid N1m for the mission, adding that he had intended to use the proceed to start a business and further his education.

Forty-year-old Onodyer, told NDLEA investigators that he was paid N200,000 for the 11 wraps of cocaine he ingested.

He said, “Drug trafficking was my last option to free myself from the harsh condition of living in Brazil. Unfortunately, I could only swallow 11 wraps so I was paid N200,000.”

The commander at the MMIA, Mr. Hamza Umar, said the seized drug comprised white and crack cocaine concealed in tins, among others.

He said, “Different methods were adopted in concealing the drug. One of the suspects, Omoluonye, was caught with both white and crack cocaine in tins weighing 7.8kg. Akubueze had 1.1kg by the side of his luggage while Onodyer ingested 11 wraps of cocaine weighing 0.5 grammes. Onyeabor was found with 74 wraps weighing 1.3kg and Ifoh was caught with 34 wraps weighing 0.7 grammes.

“Apart from Onyeabor, who hails from Enugu State, the four other suspects are from Anambra State.”

The Chairman of the NDLEA, Ahmadu Giade, called on members of the public to shun drug trafficking and engage in legitimate business ventures.
