achinaboy: There is God, but at last, if there is no God,we have nothing to loose, believing in him made a world a better place, the only people that will surelly regret it are those idiotic extremist who thought that they are fighting for God davien: What i lose by believing "god?" IF YOU REFER TO YOUR "god" THEN;
1.Give 10% my income
2.Give in to authority...through "faith men" and be easily conned...
3.Demote women...as "inferior beings"
4.When you base reality on the imaginary....you become more manipulative and have to believe anything absurd to back up the belief i.e Creationism...
5.Live by racist standards i.e Demoting people on sexual preference, ethnicity etc...
6.Have to teach children to not be inquisitive and lie to them...
7.Have to force a view against abortion rights and gay rights based on baseless toilet paper...
8.Have to threaten people with "hell" and "faith" because the myth does not go by its own merits and have to be believed by "faith" ....
9.Have to teach children imaginary do's and don'ts about masturbati0n....and other subjects best left to personal wishes...
10.Stand to lose sanity by believing two members of a species can re-populate that species without losing vigour and without genetic defects and believe in a world wide flood...
LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS OF REASONS... https://www.nairaland.com/1930863/letter-atheists-pics#26819243 |

eyeview: This tribe is synonymous with traditional evil worships, ritual, occultism, idol worships, fetish practices, demonic strongholds, diabolic beliefs and actions, ritual dens, etc. Am not a bit surprised. When will they start fearing God. Imagine innocently travelling thru this town as an albino, they will pursue you till they kill you to appease a certain 'river demon'. It's the same as gays being a taboo to you and you and your lot also killing them for no justified reason,so when will you be an empathic human being? |

johnydon22: You are not serious right? So you are meaning to tell us you have no independent morals except what your religion gives you?
Tell me, do you need to consult the bible, quran or any other religious book before you know murder is wrong?
If you don't then how come you can't differentiate between sociatal morality and religious morality. Secular states and country have no business with religious morals when enacting laws, thats why you see legalization of homosexuality even when your religion is against it, Nobody cares what religion thinks.
Morality is not Islamic neither is it christian or hindu. Morality is human, it belongs to no ism. and it is not dependent on any creed, book or supernatural for foundation because morality itself is a foundation.
Secular definition of Morality is: Actions that decreases human suffering and/or betters societal well being, freedom, equality and justice. . .
Am sure judging from this you can simply discern how moral actions are determined and not what religion says. You've become a pro in discussing morality |

Hebrews 11:1
11 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the b1. evidence of things not seen.
faith
a complete b2. trust or confidence in someone or something
you are smart enough to relate b1 and b2 You can hope all day and put your trust in harry potter(the book),it won't make a broomstick into a wand...same goes for believing that which has no support...it is sheer gullibilty "gullibility - tendency to believe too readily and therefore to be easily deceived http://www.thefreedictionary.com/gullibility |

KingEbukasBlog: Oh davien ... understand who Christians call God and why we hold fast to the belief in Him . You just gave a wrong perception @ bold . *sigh* read my little explanation in my response to thehomer 's question "did God create humans with hands" . It should help Christians themselves do not understand what they call god,if they did there wouldn't be more than 10,000 denominations of them who disagree on every point.. Here's a question....Are we saved by grace or do we attain it by faith? |

KingEbukasBlog: Ok am sorry :
Show me how through evolution (development through simple forms) : Show me how through relativity you digest food.. It became: "only a template that can be used for data compression ...and this is in large part only possible due to the data(the data the fellow i was responding to) being in a compressible form like binary..." because it comprises of bases that can be attributed to 1's and 0's(binary) and how it
"can be converted into "data" by plotting a sequence that is repetitive and predictable "
Have I explained myself ? data in this sense is a sequence that is repetitive and predictable...you're basically asking a "how" on another "how".... i.e how is laughing laughing? It's not funny that you have trouble understanding simple statements,it tells of your education.. |

Am still waiting to be wowed ! wow....the sheer ignorance is apalling...smh ( read carefully below ) KingEbukasBlog: lol ... please davien show me how that ability to store that size of data "arose naturally " davien: numbnuts,DNA doesn't store 700 Terabytes...it's only a template that can be used for data compression ...and this is in large part only possible due to the data(the data the fellow i was responding to) being in a compressible form like binary...
And in truth any form of matter can be converted into "data" by plotting a sequence that is repetitive and predictable ,how do you think computers work?....that doesn't make rocks and mud "designed" Asking a non-question around a strawman and then laughing has been the height of your capabilities... |

Christianity Etc › Re: Is The Religion We Have Really Worth It? by davien(m): 3:20am On Jul 19, 2015 |
haul: Bro I insist on it for myself cause it has really helped me to preach more love than hate. You don't need a supernatural belief for that.. Well can anyone use it to believe anything? Yes so far the person deem it fit, moreso,if the person is moral enthusiast then he may find it worthy. Then it's worthless and harmful...that which can be used to believe anything is a delusion, and delusions tend to shift ones frame of reality...and a frame of reality that is not correct leads to wrong and harmful decisions.. I'm not here to convince someone to fall inline with it,this is just my own belief and soley responsible for my actions. Only you don't liive in a bubble, you live in a society where you actions have effects on others and vice versa...having beliefs that steer your mind from reality influences those actions.. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Is The Religion We Have Really Worth It? by davien(m): 3:15am On Jul 19, 2015 |
haul: Its no guilt card bro, you mention my beliefs are not well grounded? They are not well grounded cause you never open a clear mind to it, look farther than your nose with your eye there lies your mouth. An open mind does not mean swallowing a claim,it means giving someone a chance to prove his case....i've given you a chance and all you keep coming up with are just arguments from ignorance.. i.e "don't know x therefore i'll believe it's y".. Yeah,I belief there is a creator cause I've seen things beyond explanation of man, things human hasn't go beyond, things beyond human knowledge, this you know but you won't agree and I'm not here to make you agree either cause I respect your beliefs so should do mine. Unexplained things do not equate to there being a supernatural entity at play....many known things today where once explained by people like you as handiwork of one god or the other...from a rain god,to a sun god,to an earthquake god,etc...you are just following the trend of those people...following blindly that which you want to believe because there is no explanation for it... |
