Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Port Harcourt Zonal Office have arrested five suspected fake Satellite Television Operators.
The suspects: Davidson Onuoha; Emeka Samuel; Eze Francis Sunny Amadi, Terkura Zungwem Verinica and Evangelist Alex Umanah were arrested in a simultaneous raid on their companies on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at three different locations in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Their arrest followed several weeks of intense intelligence on the suspects, their residences and operations by operatives of the EFCC.
The suspects were allegedly rebroadcasting content of the Digital Satellite Television( DSTV) illegally in their companies. The companies are CANTV at Aba Road, Port Harcourt, METROTV at Rivers State Television Complex, Eagle Avenue, Iriebe, Port Harcourt and Cable Trends Limited( CTL) at Eleme Junction, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Items recovered from the suspects include GOTV Decoders; Star times Decoders; DSTV Decoder; Free to Air Decoder (Strong), Consat Decoder and One Direct Decoder. Others are Encoder, Switches, Central Processing Units( CPU) and Monitors.
The suspects would be charged to court when investigations are concluded. Port Harcourt's Zonal Head of the EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa cautions the general public to be wary of the operations of illegal Satellite Operators stressing that there are rising cases of such activities across the country. When you're single, you may be pardoned for indulging in such, even though it is morally wrong. But when married, steer clear off from such infidelities. Yes, its to fight NPL, but all loans should be collateralized at the same amount borrowed. Hence, when there's a default, the collateral can be foreclosed. This is why we have legal mortgage |

Geezeem: Is just a yearly fun to be honest.
BB show is my secret pleasure . People around me are usually shocked I watch it
I doubt if people really carry these fights over when the show ends
Well I speak for myself.... After the finals, it ends for me.... Till next season
This is the only platform I post on bbn since our forum died . Can't stand the energy on Facebook and Twitter.... Even I, have my limit
I can't even remember the monikers I fell out with last year on top Miracle matter..... Is not that deep for me
3bear, Oshe 11and myself were in same team, so didn't go back and forth that much with them
The only person I will remember to avoid next season is Nazablossom... I can't stand passive aggressive behavior. Whether in real life or virtual world
I prefer direct engagement. So I tend to avoid such slow poisons.
I have used this moniker for years and across all BB related platforms. I have no need to change the name or hide my identity to cause mischief
I just do me.... Mostly for fun and out of passion. So it's all good.
Is this the right time to tell you, I like your energy/spirit?
Have read you a couple of times... You are as simple as one could get. Keep it up
Cheers Thanks bro. We keep evolving even in our 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s until death. As we grow old, we drop certain things and pick certain things. I wonder why Dangote keeps striving for excellence despite his wealth. Same applies to Facebook's founder. I asked a 60 year old man last week why he keeps working to acquire despite being a billionaire. He said in Yoruba: ko da ki a wa ni ibi ti awa last year lodun yi (its not good for us to be in the same level we're last year, meaning we must improve) If you earned $1,000,000 in 2018, bro strive to better it in 2019. I have toured all 6 continents and the last one I was eager to visit was New Zealand, which I was grateful to have visited in September this year. We took the longest flight in the world from the Middle East. Dubai to Auckland is 17 hours plus inside the plane. I was excited when I read this post today https://www.nairaland.com/4001717/8-things-need-know-new/30#82854800It was an appreciation from someone who was directed to the thread, not knowing he was following all our posts since July, taking notes of the tips. My New Zealand visa was granted on July 5th, 2019 and I had to detail things I did, which was of assistance to the gentleman Someone just reminded me of a place I'm yet to visit. Antarctica. So, if God spare our lives and bless us more, I'll visit in 2020. So bro, let the focus be on bettering your last success, like moving from OND to HND, from HND to BSC, to MSC or MBA. Being focused kills bad energy |

Xhale: Hello House Members,
I'm new on Nairaland but got to know about this platform in July following the response I got from the VAC-SA that my passport was ready for collection 2 days after submission. It was in my worry that some1 sent me this link where I read through the message trails and confirmed that passport verification within days is a norm.
On that note, I say kudos to all those who spare their invaluable time to share vital information on this platform. Indeed, the details clear doubts and give answers to many questions.
My story is actually long and rigorous but in summary, I submitted my student (PhD) visa application on 28/06, had my 45min. telephone interview at 9.15pm NGT 24/7/2019 = 8.15 NZT 25/7/2019 and to the glory of God, I received my "Approval in Principle" on 24/09 and got the visa on 03/10.
Generally, I would like to encourage all who submitted student visa application to be patient and ensure they respond to their case officers explicitly and on timely note even during the telephone interview.
My special appreciation goes to femijck, ugsams, davodyguy and a pal "bucade11" for their unalloyed support & responses to all prospective NZ migrants..
Shalom! I guess congratulations are in order. I will you all the best. Contact Femi when you get to New Zealand. I know there can be stupid people on Social media who should be avoided, yet there are some others that are good people. I met Femi here and we eventually connected in New Zealand. I can tell you, he's a nice guy. He actually picked us up in Auckland and took us to places where we shopped in his car at his own cost. I recommend him as a true friend and brother. Are you going to Auckland or another city? |
Politics › Re: Why Did Nigeria Move Its Capital From Lagos To Abuja? by davodyguy: 9:53am On Oct 05, 2019 |
fergie001: The OP's submissions are valid and it was a decision that bore all semblance of correctness. Coastal (easy to be subject to attack), Infrastructural expansion deficit, and Dominance of a particular major ethnic group, having just come out from a civil war. The exact reasons why Brazil moved from Rio de Janeiro to Brasilia.
Moreover, they wanted a central rallying point for the country, hence Abuja.
The man who headed the panel that decided it was Abuja wasn't a Northerner...he is Yoruba, Justice Akinola Aguda.
The panel concluded its work and submitted to the then Head of State, Gen. Murtala Muhammed who announced it 7 days before his assassination.
PS: The capital moved to Abuja from Lagos on the 12th of December 1991 and not in 1993.
PANEL COMMITTEE MEMBERS WHO DECIDED IT WAS ABUJA Hon. Justice T. Akinola Aguda, Chairman Dr. Tai Solarin, Member Col. Monsignor Pedro Martins, Member Alhaji Muhammad Musa Isma, Member Chief Owen Feibai, Member Dr. Ajato Gandonu, Member Professor, O. K. Ogan, Member They're referred to as Aguda Panel |

You're an attention seeker and my rule is that I don't feed internet trolls. Each time you quote me, I ignore you as if you don't exist. I'm responding now because of your lies. I never at anywhere on this thread or anywhere on social media called Mercy silicone ass, I'm not one of those that use vulgar words. You'll do yourself a lot of good if you can provide empirical proof of where my handle ever used words like 'silicone ass'. You seem to be a jolly good fellow...cheers. Good morning Hotworta1. Thanks for caring and we're doing very well. Trust you are too. As regards being 'good fellow' not entirely correct, but we must strive for excellence daily. There's a song for children in the popular hymn book SOP (Songs of Praise) title is God whose name is loveVerse 2 says: Help us to be good, Always kind and true, In the games we play Or the work we do. If we can abide by the teachings of this song, there wouldn't be negative energy everywhere. |

Mercy will probably win, she's not my favorite, I'm wondering why I would insult Mercy because she'll win ahead of Seyi. People should realize that there's life after big brother. Roger Federer lost Wimbledon Open final in July to Novak Djokovic. I was pained and felt bad for him, until Roger himself said it's a game and if his records are broken by either Nadal or Djokovic, it would show how Tennis is developing, after same Roger broke Pete Sampras' record as well. I think it's only people that live miserable lives outside here and in the real world that would be filled with so much negative energy. Haba |
