frank202012: to all the masturbating afonjas above, more Vaseline to una PR***k Emptiness as usual, just like KANU. He has no agenda, no plan no vision, other than to insult and incite. What is his development plan for the south east? Where's the blueprint? Has he read them out of how he would fix roads and improve the lives of Igbo's? Keep following that criminal. At least Buhari and APc got power on the change mantra, promising to fix what PDP destroyed. What has KANU promised to fix? I've read comments from illiterates and ill informed IPOB supporters, trying to compare the nonsense KANU is doing now with other peaceful agitations around the world. If you agitation is genuine and not political, then you would be civil. Ask yourself Did the Catalonians call the Spanish government a zoo? Did the catalonian leaders say to the followers to burn down Spain when ever they get arrested? Did the catalobians go about with cutlasses, looking for other Spaniards to kill in transit buses? The act of KANU and his supporters are leaning towards that of terrorists. Pa Awolowo didn't do these much, before he was arrested and jailed. What about Gani fawehinmi? What did he do before being sent to kuje prison? You guys should be ashamed of yourselves |

laribari: Cutlass carrying IPOB members are not harmed? So na only gun be weapon to you. I see! So you think those people guiding kanu's house who have swore to fight for him and lay down their lives will not have revolted or come at the soldiers?
Kanu had the guts to create biafra army and flaunt them publicly on the Internet. What was he preparing for? Nor be war? Why does he need an army? Don't deceive yourself bro.
Have u seen IPOB members on rampage on videos? They are very very very arrogant and feel untouchable. I read a lot of rubbish on nairaland too that if anything happen to kanu Nigeria will be wiped out. I don't blame them, it's the impression kanu gave them. Where are those nairalanders today?
You are not there, don't be surprised those guys came at the soldiers who wanted to gain access into kanu's house to arrest him and if you probably charged towards an unarmed man or become a barricade to a armed man on mission, you will be gun down. It's simple.
This is common sense naa! They abuse logic and common sense. I hope you saw the video of ipob members looking for Hausa's in transit buses. Only terrorists do that. Isis will stop a bus and ask people who are not Muslims to come down, then kill them if that can't recite the Quran. What's the difference between the two? War hasn't started, KANU has disappeared. Thought he said he was ready to use is life for the struggle. Why didn't he surrender to the Army when they came? Why use human shield? The guy is a bloody criminal and a thief |

Adeyemo Akintunde is thinking about life. Yesterday at 2:32pm · Lansing, MI, United States · Re: "Operation Python Dance"Here in the United States, I've worked with some top military brass (my boss in this picture is a colonel and counsel to General Vadnais of the United States Army). www.nairaland.com/attachments/5969683_adeyemo_jpeg36f1cb47cb176f0ba1c1c8b9ba79bb6f Military strategists don't like war/conflicts, but they've no choice. In any military operation, things can get ugly very fast. When I (as a law clerk to the General Counsel) participated in "Operation Northern Strike" scenario, Captain Ryan tasked me to review a pocket-size rule of engagement for soldiers, so I included all statutory and humanitarian laws in it. During the simulation exercise, we got some feedbacks from foot soldiers and their leaders: JAG (acronym for military lawyers) officers are unrealistic, they said. When real hostilities begin or any military operation is initiated, and a soldier faces an imminent threat to his life, he doesn't revert to a pocket-size manual on the rule of engagement ( he doesn't call the Commander-in-Chief); his first instinct goes to his basic training: And that can mean anything, depending on individual soldiers.Does a soldier face the risk of being tried in a military court, for violations of human rights? Yes, but guess who will judge him? A soldier (or soldiers) who had been in his shoes. With all the atrocities committed in Iraq, Israel, and Afghanistan, how many soldiers are in prison? My point is this: Don't mess with soldiers with guns and bullets. Let's embrace peace, for "dead men tell no tales."Akintunde F. Adeyemo.

Thank God my wife not on nairaland. One SA gal, tempted me Holy moses. We arrived SA around 5:00am Saturday, 2nd September, 2017. Our flight to Perth was scheduled for 9:30pm that's night. So we hanged in at the lounge. It was there and then that the temptation came. First I had to go shower and the hot water refused to come out. I was in the bathroom. I had to use towel and called one of the ladies that worked at the lounge to help. The lady was so big and thick. Just like that actress, Anita Joseph. But the holy spirit took control |

sunene1: MLS would be live at the same time of champions league, they value MLS and college football on AFN than other games.just the same way Sony group on 68e value crickets than soccer. You're right. As posited above, its country preference. Nigerians love EPL and would watch Arsenal instead of Eyimba of Aba |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by davodyguy: 6:09pm On Sep 11, 2017 |
logonlaredo: They value airing live MLB (Major League Baseball), college football, NBA and Tennis than soccer. I watch afn sport & afn sport2 often, even when there is live MLS game they prefer showing MLB (Major League Baseball), college football, NBA and Tennis and then show MLS game later or the following day.
If you look @ the time for Spurs vs dortmund game (2.30) in the picture then add 5hours to it, that will be 7.30pm Naija time.
We will start enjoying tues & wed match on AFN when UEFA CL enters 2nd round. That has been the trend i for 2season now. You're very right on this. It has to do with preference by the local county the station operates from one. AFN is force network, aimed at servicing the US military and they're not EPL adherents, but local content. I just returned from Sydney, NSW Australia last night 10/9/2017. Throughout my 8 days stay, all Fox Sport 1 and 2 were showing was rugby from morning till night. I was bored and had to switch to CNN, following the Hurricane story. On Saturday, I went to the Sydney Olympic park. Saw cars parked with lot of people and the guys were playing rugby, with a huge crowd watching. I asked my friend, if they know anything about football. She said no, cos they are rugby crazy. Let Australia be playing football world cup match and the Rugby team playing as well, they'll not watch football, but rugby. Funny enough, the springbok (SA rugby team) traveled with us from South Africa to Perth in Australia, the captain openly expressed his bias by saying he wishes the Aussie team defeats the springbok. Everyone just laughed. In summary, counties when channels are broadcasting from matters, in terms of sporting programs preferences. UK channels value Cricket, football and rugby, then tennis. Super sport : Football, cricket, rugby Germany: Football, tennis Spain: Football, tennis US: MLB is the highest earning sport in the whole world, then NBA, MLS. If you can afford it, just get options |

I've been there a couple of times and I've walked the Circular Quay area down to the Royal Botanic Garden which is awesome. I can always do it again.
I've been thinking of platonic activities I can do with you but my brain is clogged with assignment stress right now. Are you interested in nature such as beaches, parks, waterfalls, reserves and lookouts? These are my favourite activities and we can take a drive to a really nice place. I'm also up for meeting in the city, but since you neither drink or eat strange food , it may be boring cos city is mostly for shopping, food and drinks.
Lemme know your choice and suggestions. Btw, I'm available on Friday afternoon. What about Friday? Conference ended today I have the whole of Thursday, Friday to spare. I'm returning on Saturday. I have to resume work on Monday, 11/09/17 in Lagos Let me warn you though: I'm 6.2 and also handsome. This is contagious. I cannot guarantee anything Mind me not |

JewelStone: If you're selecting food because of your dietary requirements, that's understandable. Always safety first. Not all western food are raw, and you can always avoid foods that you are allergic. Anyways, it's more economical to cook your own food Someone God would bless honoured me last night with some Nigerian delicacies. I'm not sure I can finish all between now and Sunday. Fortunately, she didn't collect a kobo. I have to find a way to pay her back What has this got to do with food and what the poster was asking? $2,000 weekly after tax amounts to about $140,000 per annum. Whether sponsored, citizen or whatever, how many people in Australia make this sort of money comfortably without breaking their backs and working like slaves with no breaks, and which industries precisely?
Always trying so hard to show off much? You better not make someone back home commit suicide based on stories. I think he's making and inference/Scenario, not a factual position |

WestAfrican: davodyguy Try to stick with the food your system is used to. Reasons are you will save your self health and money. Western food should be eaten as a treat. There are heaps of Asian cum African shops in Sydney and Newie. All you need is a large deep freezer, microwave (gas/electric stove) and few food containers. Cook your food in a large pot, plate your meal portion into those containers and store them in the freezer. Then use when necessary. You really don't need those tips if your are sponsored or earn above $2k weekly after tax. I assure you you do need them if you are paying your tuition fees and may be looking after family back home. God bless you. Back in Nigeria, I don't eat what you call crab(Akan in Yoruba) and Cray fish/prawn(Ede in yoruba) They have to do with my health and nothing more. I don't even drink alcohol or can stand near smokers. Hence, I focus on what my system can take. |

Yeah it's very romantic but overpriced and it takes hours. If I took a woman up there, I'd do the same as you; issa yes or I'm not coming down. Lol I just walked past the bridge now via Lower fort Street enroute to Pier One Harbour on Hickson road and experienced the cold, I give up I'm out. Would visit the opera and museum. |

JewelStone: There are over 5000 restaurants in Sydney, you shouldn't be looking for good food. Define good food...and your budget/location then I can give suggestions.
This is a very big city and it's spread out. It's difficult to meet Nigerians unless you make plans to meetup with someone. There's no Nigerian community.
Btw why are you bored? Thought you came for business/conference Conference has been very very fruitful and interesting. From morning till late evening. Issue is, any other mill apart from Nigerian delicacies doesn't flow in my system. I'm staying in a self serviced apartment with cooker, pots, etc practically everything, but to cook na wahala. I'm staying not far from Kent street, NSW 2000. I had to go to wynyard station to get food . Not budget cos I don't really care, but I need Nigerian meals. That's all. |
