Korean keeper made 5 saves while Argentine keeper made 1

If Argentina play like that against South Korea, if they are not BEATEN, they will be pegged into their half as they were not great defensively
For those who wanted us to attack Argentina bravely like Korea is doing, Hope you see the result of what would have happened. Despite that Korean keeper saved as much as Enyeama

Kudos to Lagerback and Enyeama for keeping it under control

Dr Kitty,
Gbe enu re sohun. Dont let me expose you that while at Yabatech, your hostel was in empire.

I can remember Seoul 1988 very well those days I was very passionate about Nigerian football, When we lost to USSR in Canada 1987, I cried so much that everyone was consoling me. That was the last time I cried about Nigerian fooball.

I remember that Zambian team was poised to dominate football then if not for the fateful plane crash my favourite then was Chikabala

Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has risked widening his rift with Arsene Wenger by stating Spain's preparations for major games are better than those he's experienced at club level.

The 23-year old midfielder's relationship with the Frenchman is understood to have become strained after he expressed his desire to move to Barcelona. After five trophyless years at the Emirates, he has been impressed by the routine with the Euro 2008 winners.

Speaking to the BBC, Fabregas praised the professionalism in Vincente del Bosque's set-up.

"Here they give us much more information than they do at Arsenal, definitely," Fabregas said.

"At Arsenal we don't really look at anything from the other team, we look for ourselves and that's it.

"Here, maybe two three days before the game, we start looking at some videos, we know more or less the starting eleven that is going to play , we know nearly everything about them.

"You just have to have your group of friends here, you play cards, you play Playstation, you have fun. We train morning, afternoon, go to sleep early , you don't have much time to think about it really."

Most teams are trying the zonal marking during corners and the thing is kinda risky.

If you see The Australian corner in the 3rd minute vs Germany. all the Aussies were free No one was on them .

I am not comfortable with that Zonal marking tactics jor

we need to change things vs Argentina we played 3 Defensive midfielders which made sense in order to contain the Argies

Tomorrow we can drop Kaita or Etuhu and go 4-4-2 we dont have to be conservative vs the Greeks, we are the favourites and we should play like one

I was also dissapointed by Odiah who kept passing to the opposition If he doesnt improve he should be dropped

I don't even think we need to change anything. . . .
If we start the same players against Argentina, we will win tomorrow.
I am predicting 2-0. 3-0(if Martins start).

I said i dont know how technically savvy Japan, Korea and other Asian countries local coaches are. My emphasis was on their local coaches. What i was tryin to say is that there may be a need for them to hire foreign coaches unlike Nigeria that I believe have good local coaches that if given the chance and the right support will perform.
Asian coaches are marginally better or at par with African coaches than explain why they also employ Europeans or South Americans.

Seoul '88, ma bad, i wasnt even born then. But you said Italy fielded 13 players that were 23 years old. What matters is who those players are. Zambia with Bwalya and the likes were with their best legs. The squad Italy presented might just be a bunch of average players.
Ok That explains it, We shouldnt be arguing for the sake of it then.

I couldnt watch most of Seoul 88 because it was in the morning Nigeria time school time, I took a transistor radio to school to listen to the commentary but my teacher seized it on the day yugoslavia beat us 3-1.
I was only able to watch the highlight at night and replay on Saturday.

Most teams provided their best players, Nigeria went with Yekini, Nwosu, Okwaraji etc, the same squad that went to the Nations cup, Germany fielded Klinsmann and Hassler

I repeat Enyeama was a calamity with crosses in WC2002. He was a joke!
Enyeama wasnt our keeper in 2002, Ike Shorounmu was. I doubt if you watch this gaes or just love arguing for the sake of it
Sports › Re: Why Are Some Nigerians Self-haters? by dayokanu(m): 10:34pm On Jun 16, 2010
Seoul 88 Olympics was more of a youth tournament so that Zambian side beat a kindergaten Italian team
Its better you keep quiet if you dont know what to say,

In Seoul 1988, Italy fielded 13 players who were 23 years and above, Sam okwaraji, rashidi yekini SiaSia, henry nwosu who are part of our national team that played the Nations cup in maroc and they played at Seoul

Klinsmann, hassler who played Euro 88 played for germany.

Japan and korea are not technically savvy but Nigeria is? You are sounding more ridiculous by the minute. Do you know Korea has played a world cup Semi finals and no team from the African continent has managed that?

Before you come out to do any football argument, Do some research
Sports › Re: Why Are Some Nigerians Self-haters? by dayokanu(m): 8:14pm On Jun 16, 2010
if just 2 teams had qualified for 2002 world cup what gave you the impression that Senegal would qualify.

You dont require Einstein to know that picking 2 from 52 is much more difficult than picking 5 from 52.

For you to be one of two qualifiers you must be better than 25 countries compare to picking 5 out of 52 where you need to be better than 10 countries. Thats basic statistics

It has to do with the expertize. Europeans have a better knowledge of the game.

In 2002 China's coach was bora Miltinovic, Japa- Phillipe Troussiere, Korea- Guus Hindick Are these countries African countries too?

In 2006 Iran had Branko Ivanković, Australia -Guus Hindick, Japan- Zico , Korea- manliness Advocaat

Can we say the Asians too suffer from self hate?

The Asians acknowledge that European/South Americans know the game better.

They had stunned the world even before Algiers 90.
The same pool of players disgraced Italy in Seoul 88 by beating em 4-0.
Kalusha Bwalya got a fantastic hatrick. . . . . . . .Nigeria were lucky half of em died in a plane crash.
It woulda been a tougher Final for Westerhof and Yekini in Tunis.
Damn you!!! You spoilt the fun, I wanted him to talk the Zambian team down first before telling him their exploits in Seoul 88 where they pummeled Italy and guantemala 4-0 each
