European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only. In Wenger We Trust! by dayokanu(m): 8:22pm On Nov 03, 2009
There are times Wenger's starting XI had no single British player and this is a man who told the media foreign ownership will kill the English spirit.
Are you kidding me ? He does that everytime. This was the line up last weekend Name the English player there

Manuel Almunia, Gael Clichy, William Gallas, Thomas Vermaelen, Bacary Sagna, Cesc Fabregas, Vassiriki Abou Diaby, Andrey Arshavin (Emmanuel Eboue, 78), Alexandre Song, Robin van Persie (Aaron Ramsey, 86), Nicklas Bendtner (Da Silva Eduardo, 37)

There's no LUCK in footie.
I thought you said the fact that Germans never lose penalty shoot outs are due to luck?

And that English players lose on penaltes are due to luck

Without fletcher, those buscuit boned, Carrick, Anderson and co would be crying for Momma

Double standards is the middle name of Platini . . .almost all players in the French squad arent true French, Germans too have found out that the way to go is to bring in the likes of our own Fela Owo, Boateng and co, whilst even their youth teams now have an invasion of GLOBAL MIX with the like of Yabo and co, no one is talking about that and the effect on National team footie, but rather Platini wants to do an EGBA-BEEF a la Obasanjo $ Tunde Bakare on us by attacking Wenger every now and then . . .
Most of the foreign players who play for Germany were born in Germany or had German parents.

Is Wenger saying there are no talented youths in UK he can develop that he has to bring in the Owusu Abeyies of this world in?

You can as well start the thread moreso if your club is playing. If it's interesting, as you already know, folks will join.
How many of the EPL matchday threads get started by fans and for example, How many posts do Liverpool fans get on their matchday threads to warrant it being stickied to the top.

Very few Liverpool machday threads go beyond the second page and at most you would find 3 Liverpool fans posting on it. I think a free market where any willing fan would do a matchday thread should be allowed and posts get to the top based on the demand for the matchthread.

I have seen typical Liverpool vs Hull city/Stoke City threads struggling to go beyond the first page yet we have it at the top

Jesus Wept!!!!
This man is a LOSER. . . . . .So Trophies are not important again?
Why not opt out of the Premier League and open the gates of Anfield for soccer exhibition?
That was what he learnt in England. He can never say that in any other country.

BTW He has an example to show. Wenger has not won a trophy in 4 seasons and still has the job . Benitez has not done 3 trophyless season yet.

On a lighter note

What can Bayern do with the €200M from Audi?

the best ones:

1.) send the whole 1860 team, sponsors and 1000 fans to the moon
2.) buy Ronaldo, Kaka and Diego
3.) give Ribery a 20-year, €200M contract extension
4.) buy Dortmund and Hopp's SAP
5.) 23.5 M liter Freibier
6.) pay off Schalke's debts

i think the basis of comparison should be in the lower tier ie. the europa, uefa, cup winners or whatever you want to call it. here u can have a clearer picture of football growth in the different ligues.
In Europa cup abeg no mention EPL no be Everton dem brush 5-0 last weekend?
Or have you forgotten Sevilla 4 Middlesborough 0

In the past only EPL threads are stickied to the page and we were made to understand that they only have that right to be opened by mods and sticked.

Cant we ask the mods questions again or at least know when rules change
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Bayern Munich Fans by dayokanu(op): 6:24pm On Nov 02, 2009
Bayerns support come largely from indegenous companies. Adidas, Audi etc. The regulations in Germany limits foreign ownership.

They also have the largest attendance all over Europe

A club with ambitions dont sit with lame managers who cant win trophies and still talk shit.

I cant Imagine a club sticking with a manager who has been trophyless for 4 seasons

In the goalscoring department, Lucatoni showed last season he was better than Berbatov

The stats are obvious to see.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Bayern Munich Fans by dayokanu(op): 5:45pm On Nov 02, 2009
Bayern Munich are in talks with German car maker Audi for an investment and sponsorship deal worth more than 100 million euros ($147 million), club manager Uli Hoeness said.

It was not clear what percentage of the club the German automaker was negotiating to acquire and what length the sponsorship deal would be.

"This is a participation (in the club) and a long-term contract," Hoeness told Sky Television late on Sunday. "It is a package. An advertising contract and a participation. The amount is well over 100 million."

Hoeness said the deal was yet to be finalised but he expected an announcement before the club's annual general meeting on Nov. 27.

lol. Benitez knows how EPL clubs are run. You dont have to win a trophy to keep your job in England e.g Arsene

Benitez has done better, won more trophies than WenGAY in the last 5 yrs

Or how can a club retain a coach who cant win a trophy? Benitez knows he cant try that stuff in Spain.

They made the ranking based on some stats and its here for all to see. Try and argue intelligently and not like.

" Messi is the world best? That short boy? How can he be?"

They made the ranking based on stats either you tell us the stats are wrong or whatever.

Not just "How can Lucatoni be the best? Someone asked this earlier and they brought out his scoring and assist stats which floors Berbasuck like Mohammed Ali did Sonny Liston.

I am waiting for Saurons next excuse.
