4llerbuntu: I thought as much. Nateevs is already claiming they never said torres thrives wen d team plays one style. So soon u are feigning amnesia about coogars posts AND MULTIPLE LIVERPOOL GIFS trying to prove to us that the most creative midfielders in d prem are crap because they dont pass in a certain way, dont release him with d last man bla bla bla.
Amazing. These posts are scarcely 1 week old n u saying these? Where did all d switxh back, dont play to torres strengths arguments originate from then?
I said it a while ago, its a waste of time having these debate with u chaps. Wen the small teams run out it will be petr cechs fault that torres dont score. I dont have time to be quoting posts up n down.
You dey mind them?
I have been asking how many of the goals he scored yesterday came from vertical balls? And what did the midfielders do differently to enable him score?
The solution to Torres problems is with Torres. e.g the first goal, Hazard would still cross into those spaces, its left for him to anticipate and attack the ball
The second goal, Was it the midfielders who told him to fight to take the Penalty? was it the coach who told him to take the initiative and demand for the ball? which he didnt do on Wednesday?
Same with for the 3rd goal.
The Chelsea midfield creates enough for any striker who cares . Hazard and Mata probably have 12 assists between them now. Any striker should be benefitting from that
Glory: Wut dat nigga sayin? Vic O: Uh huh nigguz (Repeat x6) Vic O: your playin wit me And u feel am playin witchu That's wut u feel U playin wit me And am not playin witchu U have ma money &^%$#$ Uh huh nigguz Nigguz I know exactly wut u fink I ham Now if u must know hu I ham I am a man of VIP A man of God And I am not da #%^@$% I'm da son of God Nigguz
nateevs: After appointing Rafa, he, just like we have over the years, said that Torres is a brilliant player at playing in between the lines. Those who are close to training will tell you the focus and style of play is now aimed at playing vertically. I have noticed this when we play. However, when I said I see an increase in the number of vertical passes, one of you says ain't nothing changed.
You keep tellig us about these vertical passes, Which of the goals scored yesterday were from vertical passes? It shouldnt be that difficult na?
PointB: Is is Afam that is suppose to keep a log of his ban? For your information, I didn't even realize that Mukina once banned me, let alone when and for what! People like me who don't take the forum too seriously may not even realise they were banned.
What I expected rational folks like to ask is: Why weren't we informed earlier by the Mod that Afam is not eligible. If he can do that for myself, beaf and others, why not for Afam? Why must Afam suffer for the Mod's negligence? And is it really a case of negligence, is not probable that something more sinister is in the works?
As a follower of politics in Nigeria. You can relate this to Salisu Buhari saga where he was found to be ineligible and removed from his post in the House of rep
Also compare to Celestine Omehias case in Rivers
Tell us if the election was re-conducted or the candidate were just disqualified and replaced
afam4eva: If a candidate doesn't meet the criteria of election, his username should not even be updated at all because all the nominated candidates are supposed to be investigated like was done for some candidates early on in the nomination and i want to believe i was not found wanting and that's because all my bans even though undeserved were not in the politics section. Now fast-forward to the eleventh hour when myself, Katz and Gbawe was the final nominees and realizing the fact that Nairaland has an ethnic twist to it and knowing that some Yorubas will vote for Katz/Gbawe while some Igbos will vote for me, they probably didn't want an Okoro to win so a discussion that probably went thus ensued...
"Omo, Afam fit go win this thing oo...make we find something take trap am before theb guy embarrass us"
So, in PDP stylee they decided to disqualify me for a ban that was not political motivated and was not explicit in the rules.
Winning the poster of the year is not a ticket to heaven and i could care less if i'm awarded but i hate being De-enfranchised. It happened to Beaf because he obviously would have won it that year. It happened to PointB, now me. This not not about me but about fairness...This is what we've been fighting in Nigeria and the same people who have been speaking against the government are committing the same crime they accuse the government of...
For all their lack of creativity, West Brom felt aggrieved and were entitled to. Santi Cazorla's dive for Arsenal's first goal was the type that has more notorious players labelled enemies of the game. For the clinching second, referee Mike Jones should have awarded a foul to West Brom for a pull on Goran Popov before Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain went on to be clearly tripped by Chris Brunt. The Baggies could perhaps also have had their own first-half spot-kick when Per Mertesacker handled in his own area, only for a mystery infringement to be levelled against Jonas Olsson.
The visitors were deserving of little but they might have hoped for better officiating. "We got the poorest of a really good group of referees," an angry Steve Clarke said of Jones.
Sir Louis Ojukwu the Ikemba'a dad was the first ever African Millionaire. Infact even when Queen of English visited Nigeria in 1956 it was Ojukwu's LIMO that FG borrowed to take her round places. Imagine even the Fg does not have a befitting car not to talk your back and poverty riddle tribe. Again Emeka Ojukwu was the first African to attend Oxford university, that shows the level wealth they had at the time. Bro grow up.
Check the third paragraph 3rd line. Though i know Igbos lie a lot
When I said you Yios should go and learn you turn into strong head Let me educate you about Nigerias Millionaires in those times
The first native millionaires made their money by competing with the white man for his trade. Among Nigeria's richest businessmen is Alhaji Sanusi Dantata 46, who buys and ships much of the rich Kano region's peanut crop. Dantata's agents last year bought 84,000 tons from small farmers, paid with traditional handfuls of coin counted out in dusty village squares. Sir Odumegwu Ojukwu 66, knighted shortly before independence, started off by importing dried fish for resale to the nonfishing Nigerians then decided to ship the fish inland himself instead of leaving the job to others. He also amassed the country's largest fleet of "mammy wagons," the trucks that carry Nigerians (including market women, which gives the trucks their name) from place to place. Sir Mobolaji Bank-Anthony, 59, known as "The Black Englishman" for his impeccable manners and imperturbable air, began by importing cuckoo clocks and marble statues. He now controls or owns part of ten companies, including a tanker fleet and a charter airline. Emmanuel Akwiwu, 43, earned law degrees at Cambridge; returning home just as Nigeria's oil boom began he organized a company that now has 70 vehicles, hauls oil rigs and supplies for British Petroleum Ltd. Chief Shafi Lawal Edu, 54, who is president of Lagos' chamber of commerce, has built a fleet of eight oil tankers. He owns a silver-blue Rolls-Royce, but usually drives around in a Mercedes—thinks it is less ostentatious. No Need to Clash. Many Nigerian businessmen have taken advantage of the novel opportunities that inevitably accompany broadening prosperity. Chief Timothy Adeola Odutola, 63, a onetime farmer, developed a business to produce bicycle tires for the growing army of bikes, has done so well that he is adding a $1,700,000 plant, plans eventually to harvest his own rubber from his 5,000-acre plantation. A former office worker, Ade Tuyo, 63, cast around for a business that would have 'first priority in people's spending" opened a bakery that today has four shops and makes 115 products. The firm's unusual name—De Facto Works Ltd.—was shrewdly chosen by Tuyo to impress Nigerian bankers with the fact that he was seriously in business Bayo Braithwaite, 36, one of Nigeria's younger businessmen, left a British insurance company to found a firm that would write life insurance on Nigerians which the British underwriters avoided. So successful has Braithwaite been that his African Alliance Insurance Co Ltd occupies a six-story Lagos home office and has 300 bush-beating agents. Braithwaite lives in an elegant house in suburban Ikoyi, where glass and concrete are deliberately intermixed with African folk art to prove that "the two need never clash." So, it is, too, with Nigerian business. The Nigerians feel that they and their onetime white masters need never clash. "The time is coming," says Timothy Udutola, "when we will produce more than we can consume and we will have to look outside Nigeria for markets" Against that time, Nigeria is seeking joint ventures in Europe and the U.S., has also concluded negotiations for eventual associate
Abagworo: Little do people realize how beautiful and endowed Ebonyi State is. If Igbos had a country of their own, I bet you Ebonyi would realize its potentials as tourism headquarters. 2ndly every Nigerian is entitled to live in any part of the country.
Then why dont you cannibals migrate and occupy Ebonyi state instead of moving to other region and bringing your criminal acts along
Abagworo: Eko Ile asked why Igbos left their land empty and migrated to other parts of the country. I only explained to him that Igboland is densely populated and is not as empty as he was alleging. Aba and Onitsha have populations above 1million. So they are not empty. Imo and Anambra villages are non-stop sprawls from Orlu to Awka. More like driving in one city while you've driven past dozens of distinct semi-urban areas.
Ebonyi is empty, Enugu isnt overpopulated why cant the Igbo cannibals move there instead of going to other regions?
nateevs: Don't be surprised to see the biggest argument over Torres breakout even when he scores. Good thing we didn't score one more. The brigade would have turned up subtracting his goals and attempting to suggest that we could have won without his goals.
The opposition's wall is built so high, you can barely make a case for Torres even when it makes perfect sense. I commented on the increase of vertical passes I have seen since Benitez took over. Especially over the last 3 games with attempts to release Torres early on goal. It was met with stiff resistance, with claims nothing has changed in the way we play.
It's all a strategic design to provide a ready-made excuse to blame Torres even if he finds scoring form as though he has chosen not to score all the while.
So which of the vertical passes did Torres benefit from today?
