In one game vs Arsenal one of the top EPL side, Messi scored 4.

Do you think he cant score 4 vs Fulham, West brom, Blackburn, Wigan, QPR, Norwich, Bolton, over 2 legs? and those other Sunday Sunday teams?

No be Tottenham dey concede 8 goals in 2 games?

they cannot do it in england.
forget it. . . . .robert huth woulda murdered messi and ronaldo.
the protection they get in la liga is world class. . . . .over here, phil dowd would look the other way.
Robert Huth that couldnt murder those Valencia boys would now murder Messi?

WHy didnt Robert Huth murder Ronaldo when he was there?

The above average La Liga players like Mata, Silva, Aguero Toure have now become household names in EPL

Bring Messi to EPL, Surely he loves those brainless defenders like Shawcross, Caulker, McAuley etc
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by dayokanu(m): 12:13am On Mar 08, 2012
Messi and Ronaldo

Bring Madrid and barca to any league and they would score a similar number of goals

Even in England the useless 2 left legged RVP scores for fun nowadays can only score 4 in the CL and 18 all this career while Messi has scored 12 in a single season

nateevs:
Can you cut the crap please?
Just sock it up.

"Ramires is way better than Mikel, Malouda and a ton of others on the team" is a huge statement to make in footballing sense. It's a statement you would have uttered regardless of his new contract. Please don't try to tell me you were defending his new contract. To then come back with a lazy back up of what he's done this season just does my head in.

Whichever way you look at it, it's an error of massive proportions. I may, 'may' have tolerated your statement if it went as this 'Ramires deserves his contract for the effort he put in this season'.

To come back and then say he is "way better" than Mikel, Malouda and a ton of others, you must be willing to spend time at your pc typing useful stuff.

Way better? Malouda and Mikle have infinitely better technique, awareness, passing range, pass completion rate, eye for goal(Except Mikel), off and on the movement, than Ramires will ever dream of and can ever achieve. I will back this up with empirical evidence in any typical season comparing all these indices in any random match. 9 times of out 10 Malouda and Mikel will make better use of the ball than Ramires will.

You want to stake this on one season? please! Go look at what Malouda and Mikel achieved in the title winning season under CA. How dare you call a player "way better" than others on the back of a few goals in one season?

And who the hell are the "ton of others" you refer to?
nateevs:
On the worthiness of a 5-year contract. . .

Look, Ramires plays because of the dearth of quality mid-fielders in the team. You don't give a 5-year contract to a player whose place is already under threat in the new season. If Chelsea bought two midfielders in the mould of Yaya Toure and Luca Modric and a hard working and technically astute sitting midfielder like Sandro, Arturo Vidal or a deep lying playmaker like Danielle De Rossi. . Ramires will not smell the reserves. Unless you are telling me Chelsea needs not buy these players for Ramires is around. . .

I have defended Ramires on this forum before against Ibime when it was needed. I know what Ramires is. Ramires makes more interceptions than any other Chelsea players except David Luiz. However, that's all. There's no luxury for that sort of player in Chelsea. . especially in midfield.

Let me tell you what Ramires is not.

Ramires is not a Darren Fletcher. . . Fletcher tackles and makes use of the ball. Ramires harries, tackles collects the ball, loses it again in a painful-looking pass attempt. Then harries, tackles and collects the ball and repeats the cycle over and over. Then pops in the box because of his pace and scores a goal after a gazillion attempts.

Ramires is not a DM. A DM, apart from providing a shield for the defence, needs to have the ability to start attack and retain possession very well. Ramires cannot retain possession. Ramires cannot play in tight spaces. One of the difficulties of the role of a DM is being able to play in tight spaces, wiggle out of them and start an attack with the right pass. This area is where most of the actions occurs. Ramires lacks the football intelligence to do that.

Ramires is an illusion of a counter-attacking player. Ramires has to run because he lacks the vision to supply the right pass. Find me a link of Ramires with a key pass or a 10 or 20 yarder to find a forward. I can fetch you at 3 beautiful attempts of Alex Song finding Van Persie from seemingly impossible positions all resulting in goals. A counter attacking player has purpose. Chooses the right space to run into and most times delivers a pass, a cross that threatens goals. Ramires possesses none of these.

Ramires is not a CM. A CM needs vision, above average pass completion rate. Decent on and off the ball movements.
Awareness and great positional play. In Ibime's famous words. . .Ramires hides from passes. . Making a mere 21 complete passes when co players in midfielder make an average of 60.

Ramires is no nothing. Who can point out the role he plays perfectly? No one says what he does. . . "Oh Ramires has drive, energy, pace" is all I hear. . .

Ramires is in the defensive class of the Theo Walcott, Aaron Lennon players who look like they are running a lot yet delivering nothing. When they eventually find something, everyone raves about it. The only position I can give to Ramires is RB however he lacks good positional sense to play the role. .

Ramires does not deserve a 5-year contract on the back of an average season. (8 goals and 3 assist - His lovers make you believe it's more). These are my reasons. Disprove them.

SE remains the most credible region to be voted for in 2015; the likes of Ngige (not thru ACN), Soludo, Ben Obi, Anyim are top on the SE list.
Soludo, Ben Obi? Thos Atiku girlfriends are the ones good for presidency?

nna uwa nka dikwa funny.
Yes oo The Yoruba lineage of Akintola a civilian who rather than run away to Abidjan, took up arms and fought Igbo military coupist till he lost his life valiantly.

Rather die a brave man than live a coward (Ojuku)

The lineage of Abiola who fought and died for his mandate rather than run away to Abidjan like Ojuku

If Effiong was like Ojuku and also fled to Cameroon what would be your lot today

I hail heroes like Akintola, Abiola and Effiong not cowards like Ojuku

Only an irresponsible leader would run away leaving his populace to die like roaches

read what a real warlord, Effiong had to say about Ojuku

When Biafra's military resistance collapsed, Ojukwu fled to Côte d'Ivoire.

Efiong assumed leadership in this situation of turmoil, starvation, and collapse. He became Head of State of Biafra on 8 January 1970 and on 12 January announced surrender.[1]

At the time of the surrender, Efiong believed that the situation was hopeless and that prolonging the conflict would have led only to the further destruction and starvation of the people of Biafra. At that time Effiong said, "I am convinced now that a stop must be put to the bloodshed which is going on as a result of the war. I am also convinced that the suffering of our people must be brought to an immediate end."[1]

Nnaemeka L. Aneke wrote, "General Efiong’s handling of Biafra’s surrender is one of the most tactical and devoted maneuvers ever seen on the Nigerian scene. Those who do not appreciate the depth of it may not have appreciated what was at stake as Biafra capitulated."[2] Many observers had expected wholesale retribution at war's end.
[edit]

Later life

In a 1996 interview, Efiong reflected on those events:

I have no regrets whatsoever of my involvement in Biafra or the role I played. The war deprived me of my property, dignity, my name. Yet, I saved so many souls on both sides and by this, I mean Biafra and Nigeria. . . .

I felt that I played a role which has kept this country united till today. . . .

At the end of it all when I saw they (Biafran soldiers) could no longer continue and Ojukwu had fled, I did what was ideal after wide consultation . . . [2]

Efiong died 6 November 2003, at the age of 78 less than two weeks before his 79th birthday.
The b1nch fled the war front and left the populace to die

What a shame to war generals.

God bless Effiong a true general who waited not the biatch who fled
