Incidentally my grandfather only had one wife & so monogamy has been around for longer that we like to think but that is a story for another day.

Today, both men and women are expected to be faithful to their partners and so the ones that dont have to lie, sneak about and deceive their partners. Now this is where the problem is. Many women who have been cheated on say it is the deceit that gets to them. If you think about it, it takes longer to woo a woman than it takes to actually bed her.

I still dont think that you can love and respect your wife, yet choose to lie and cheat behind her back. Dayo If there were no laws, societal opinion or moral expectations in our society then we will be living in anarchy. These things are there for a reason because we are human and not animals. Besides, if you all married more than one wife, you will all be killing each other because there wont be enough women to go round.

I am also yet to see a peaceful polygamous home where they all genuinely love each other like their own. Even if they pretend to show it deep down in their heart, no woman can genuinely love another woman who is sharing her husband.

Infact we are a product of the society we live in and the laws that govern us, If you were born 100yrs ago or born a Moslem in Northern Nigeria Your husband having multiple wives would be a normal thing to youand you would gladly take your dates on the bedroom roster. My grandmother went to her village to marry a second wife for my grandfather , She went and chose a young girl that wont give her "Rivalry" problems. She knew polygamy was the norm.
