JAkpayen: There is nothing like 4 or 5 digit broker when it comes to trading gold. All brokers end the gold price @ 2 decimals. For example, if gold moves from 1707.05 to 1711.05 that is $4 or 400 pips. gold can move $30 or 3,000 pips in a day. Trust me, I had to find this out from brokers. If your broker allows you to trade gold find out how they calculate the pips movement.


1 micro lot (.01) of Gold per 100 pips = 1 USD or $0.01 per pip
1 mini lot (.1) Gold per 100 pips = 10 USD or $0.1 per pip
1 standard lot (1) Gold Per 100 pips = 100 USD or $1 Per pip.

Kirinwa: Unlike some people here I do not lay claim to perfection in trading.Perhaps you may enlighten me by answering this question.From 1707.20 to 1708.20 how many pips?

Kirinwa: Gold buy I entered at 1707 yesterday. Now at 400 pips profit. Just 100 pips more to lock up profit at 500 pips profit.

like the trade that was just released gave me the actual data and so i knew where i was heading

Piponomics: Truth is one has to make up his mind. To successfully trade intraday and feed from it, you need at least a $2000 balance. Anything lower than that then you must have to take crazy risks to make anything reasonable. So it is always best if one stays in a day job or whatever and build capital first.

With regard to your religious/spiritual conviction, that's a no-go for me. All I can say is: Good for you!
Remember though, just when you think your story (which I can appreciate) has it all, it may only be the starting point of someone else's. Nuff said.

1H and above, if i get signals there i am sure i am trading, any way that does not mean there are no good traders trading small time frames

Toks2008: With 100usd you can trade any method or signals. All you need is to use good money management and calculate your risk size.

First you ask yourself how much risk do you want to expose. If say 5% then first calculate your 5% which will be 100/100 x 5 = 5usd

now check the stop loss of the signal you wish to use. Lets assume its 60pips or 80pips, you can add say extra 30pips making 100pips then divide that 5usd by 100 which is 5usd(5%)/100pips sl = 0.05usd which means you will place a lot size that gives 5cent per pip and that can be found on a cent account which is offered by some brokers.

Using any lot bigger than this will endanger your equity. The idea in starting small is to trade lot sizes that is commensurate wth your equity then as you get more money, simply add to that equity until it has reached a good sum but trying to rush small equity into large sum can result to total loss which to me is a foolish way to go.
