usbcable: in 2014 there occurred a 6 month data wipe out (January to Jun 2014) on Nairaland. If not for that I would have shown you the kind of things these lots said during those period of the world cup inclusive of dippset.
the reason they are meek about it now is because Leo has been dropping disasterclass after disaster class. Hence their brains are resetting a lirul bit.
read this particular comment what does it tell you of his thought process during those days he was high on messi dose. Messi was still peak in 2014. but he is now wash and dippsset is now having is priorities right. You're still grandstanding despite proving nothing? So if you're a lawyer and asked to prove in a law court that ddippset said he would support Argentina in a match against the Super Eagles or that ddippset was happy when Messi scored against Enyeama, you will come with these screen shots as proof? You know what the judge would do? He will throw your case out, and then fine you 1 million for abusing court processes and wasting the time of the court. Guy rest already, you got nothing on me. You're continually embarrassing yourself bringing up those screen shots. Look for more ammo, this one won't fly. |

ThierryJay: No be today criticism of penalties start. Pele criticized penalties and at a point refused to take them cos he felt it was a gifted opportunity.
I've heard commentators regularly take subtle jabs when bringing up statistics about players goals, if such stats involve a preponderance of penalties e.g Bruno Fernandez, Messi this UCL season, Van Nistelrooy back in 2003, even CR7. They typically use it to put the performance in context.
Cr7 had been dubbed Penaldo since his Man Utd days, so its not because Messi fans could not deal with his numbers.
Don't lie, if a striker scores 10goals all penalties, and another scores 9 goals no penalties, pray tell who will be considered more impressive by the coach and fans?
Please do not belittle Messi's 91 goal feat by your obvious ignorance here. No other player in history will have such a collection of beautiful goals within a single year. He scored over 15 solo goals, several 20 & 18 yard shots, tens of chipped goals, you don't even want to go there. The shot against Brazil, was it not a 25yard effort? Pls try to actually watch his goals before spewing falsehood cos its obvious you haven't seen them.
If na Instagram, CR na baba for that level. He can validly gloat on account of his good looks and appeal. But on this round leather matter, he no reach. Just leave beverlyjean and fuckdamods alone. They have their heads tucked soo deep into Ronldo's Assssss that they are good friends with his digestive system. There is no excuse in the world or beyond to justify why Ronaldo would still have the same number of goals from open play despite having played 145 games more! One hundred and forty five. Let them continue grasping at straws and putting up shameless arguments. |

If only you knew how many kindergarten football clubs CR7 also played in before getting to professional football at sporting. You got some nerves talking about shame and terrible excuses. Hungry retardêd boy 1.Insinuating that Ronaldinho carried Messi while no one carried Ronaldo, is the reason why Ronaldo has played 145 extra games yet having the same number of open play goals as Messi; is the world's most terrible and pathetic excuse. 2. The quote "players don't start playing at the same time" as excuse for Ronaldo having played a whooping 145 games more than Messi yet having the same number of open play goals is the world's second most miserable and pathetic excuse. You are simply shameless to say the least coming up with such defences. I mean 145 games more Just stfu punk |

FuckThaMod: una sha always get nonsense excuse...It's no longer 141, now 145. And whose fault is that? Must everyone start playing ball at the same time? Lie Lie Messi started his career at Newels Old Boys in Argentina where he was discovered. Ronaldo started at Lisbon Portugal just as Messi started at Newels in Argentina. And now to your question; No everybody must not start playing at the same time but if you started playing first then you must have started scoring first. And you should have a healthy lead on who started late. Despite that he has played a whooping 145 games more but has the same goals from open play. What a shame! So that's a terrible excuse to give. |

Messi has scored 573 goals from open play.
Ronaldo has scored 573 goals from open play.
The problem is; Ronaldo has played 145 games more.
145 145 145 145
1, 2, 3, 10, 20, 50, 100, 140, 141, 142, 143, 144, 145.

A40: Mugu.
It's not about race or complex. It's common sense. What are you doing rooting for a team representing a society that doesn't want any of your kind even in this modern era. To the point that they are one of the only teams in South America that don't parade your kind.
Listen goofy. Do you know how crazy you would sound to an Argentine if you told him you support Argentina wey no dey parade your kind ahead of your country? They will laugh you out of the stadium like the clown that you are.
Omugo. You dey support Argentina because of Messi wey go soon comot your team. Shior You guys are just missing the point. I dunno if Usbcable for one, is getting alert for pushing this decitful narrative once every year for the past 10 years. I know of a lot of Oyinbo people who seriously rooted for the Super Eagles at USA 94 and also at Atlanta 96. Those oyinbos also had their nations at these 2 tourneys. Now what do we say about them? Support for teams at FIFA World Cups has never been entirely about race and nationality. The traditional FIFA World cup teams esp; like Brazil, Argentina, Germany and Italy and lately Spain have always had good support across the world at FIFA world cups, irrespective of Messi; irrespective of skin colour And that's because back then the competition was more popular than the champions league we all love today. It was our biggest opportunity to see our best players in the pitch and see the best football. So generation to generation these big teams especially have always had massive support from fans across Africa at World Cups. And trust me there is a good number who did that because they didn't have any belief in their home nation while many did because they saw the best football and the best players from these big teams. Even at the Euros where there is no Naija, some of us always have a team we root for. It's football. But agreeably times have changed. There is more focus on club football but those tendencies would take some time. Millions of Naija fans support certain teams at World Cups and Euros, Fact. But again, I don't think anyone would support any other Nation in a head to head match against the Super Eagles. |

Olamyyde: Koeman is a fool. How could he start dembele, singlet and busquets after the disasterclass they dropped against psg.
Singlet is our worst defender after umtiti. Only god knows how many points singlet and umtiti have lost for us this season. Those 2 should be sold at the end of the season. I prefer mingueza playing after them
It's funny how all our French players are frauds.
Dembele - french adama traore
Griezmann - barca's biggest flop after coutinho
Umtiti - one of the world's former best defenders who sold his career for a WC
Clement singlet - Barca's own mustafi
Sell all of them apart from dembele. Hopefully he improves like Kingsley coman.
Honestly the only bright spots in this team are pedri, puig, ter stegen and fati. What of De Jong Araujo Dest |

PSG lost 2-0 at home to Monaco. The same eleven that had us beat.... I think our biggest problem is the inability to defend as a unit. Maybe it's our attacking mindset... I just don't understand how certain teams which thrash us wouldn't even thrash some lower teams like that.. And it's never entirely about the manager; 4 different managers can't be all useless! |

Last season, John Stones was lost, but he has been a revelation for Man City since this season. There are unavoidable defensive mistakes. There are avoidable defensive mistakes. Lenglet has singlehandedly cost us at least 8 or 9 points this season with avoidable defensive mistakes. |

Hmmmm, Zidane might have intentional exited those competition in order to save strength for la liga since he has a slim squad, besides koeman didn’t win any of those competition, so does it even matter? I honestly think that Barca Bars and Madrid have equal chances if Athletico actually slip up.
It all depends on which team is able to win games and avoid slip ups. We have actually had a very good run in la liga in the last 2 months,

Krasid: You just shot yourself in your foot with that Immobile comparison. Where was Immobile when he was 20 yrs? The same Immobile who played for the same Dortmund team and was considered a flop is what you are comparing to Haaland who equalled Immobile's total Bundesliga tally in 23 minutes on his debut. How many UCL goals does Immobile have at 31 (9 goals), whilst Haaland at 20 is already on 17 goals; was the 2nd top scorer last season despite his team being eliminated in the R16 and is the current topscorer this season ahead of household names like Lewa, Messi, CR and other "world class" strikers. Immobile only started becoming relevant when he moved to Lazio, he wasn't beasting a top 5 european league/UCL at 20. Infact, none of your current "world class" strikers was this dominant in the UCL at 20. Yet you just opened your mouth to say Haaland is not yet world class. Your matter tire me aswear. It doesn't matter what Immobile was at 20 years old. I did not rate him as world class, perhaps you need to employ the services of an interpreter as you read. My point is that Immobile wouldn't be regarded as world class yet he's had 2 good seasons. Haaland has had only 2 good seasons also. I need up to 4 or 5 seasons of consistency before I confidently categorize him under world class. Even If Messi, Suarez, Griezman, Benzema, Lewy were not as dominant as 20 years old but have done it for over 10 years, you can't put Haaland who has done it for 2 years in their class yet. Be patient and wait for him to rise and cement his place. We have seen many players who came out guns blazing and fizzled out after 2 seasons. The consistency factor should be a very essential one in this categorization. You are obviously still stuck with this "likely to dominate" mindset. |
