Saraki became senate president around june 2015. His trial didn't begin until around october or november. That is like 5 or 6 months later. This Dogara gate is on for just about a week and you are already lamenting. You are not even prepared to wait for just one month to see what the President would do. One month only. Umtiti has very similar characteristics with Mascherano and thus wouldn't make sense to pair both in this circumstances. Piqué needs the likes of Mascherano or umtiti, guys who can break play even before it materialises to some good attacking move. Piqué needs someone who is very sharp and technically astute to complement him. So, in this scenario, pairing players with very similar characteristics while they are supposed to be complementing the other pair in relation to what the team needs ain't advisable.

when he says pair he means put them together in the picture. As in, mascherano should be the sub to umtiti.
