Abeg if you are close to him, or anyone here on nairaland.. tell skino4united that i now hate infinix with a passion because of him and his moderator friends on xclub, i swear to always promote other brands using all the social media channels available, everyone must understand that they have been using rubbish (called infinix) for some years now... Before December infinix will loose more than half of its customers... Infact, am not the only one some people i met that are recently xiaomi marketers have thesame complain about infinix xclub moderators and staff. One thing he has to know is that we are not robots, we bought infinix phones with our money and so where they messed up we address them, but skino and his moderator friends just want you to praise infinix or you keep quiet. Infact, am about to open a marketing handle on Twitter on this.

Honestly, even me am kind kf confused what phone next, its like worldwide, expensive phones are creating a terrible heat and people want something good at a fair price.. I hope this will make transsion to improve.
Good choices to make now

I absolutely agree with your points. Transsion can continue to make their profits in the Nigerian market, the sky is wide enough to accommodate everybody. They should know however that Nigerians have now seen the light and are asking them to pedal up on quality.

I didn't believe initially that the Samsung A20 with relatively good exynos processor, super amoled display and 3+32 gig storage would be sold for less than 60k until I saw it on jumia. These are premium features on most Samsung flagship phones that would have gone for 100k+ in the past. This points out to the fact that Samsung is already feeling the heat. Transsion should step up too. I believe OnePlus will see the light soon too
Good one man, at least we now have quality alternatives, Nigeria will no more be a dumping ground for rubbish

Made some valid points.

Obviously, there's rarely any company that is out there to "help" the consumer. Transsion made moves that few companies would make - targetting a low-income earning African audience. How many manufacturers are willing to "dilute" their brand in the name of competing at the low end? Now that they have helped developed the smartphone market in Nigeria, others like Xiaomi are thinking of coming in. Competition is good, and will definitely be beneficial to consumers. I was only tackling the OP; because I thought the manner in which he described their (Transsion) phones and the company itself was unfair.

The company I'd like to see enter Nigeria is even OnePlus.
Even Samsung has started making low end phones with good specs, the A, J and M series are definitely standard devices at tecno and infinix prices, i believe that of Huawei with its subsidiary called honor and Xiaomi is self explanatory. More high-end manufacturers are coming up with budget phones. You see ehn, the truth is that the high cost of phones is not just a Nigerian problem, it hits even the Europeans and Americans thats why the Xiaomi and Huawei markets are growing fast in developed countries. Some there don't even want to spend up to $200 -$300 on a phone even when they have it. I believe we in Nigeria should demand for the best at good prices, not just Phones but other electronics and medicines as well

Bro,I'm telling you pop and plain, if tecno and infinix dare make the quality of phones samsung are making, they would not sell them at less than 500k. A company that makes low end phones using Mtk processors will continue making it look like they are doing you a favour because Nigerians always take things hook, line and sinker. They hide under the cover of making huge megapixel cameras when in actual fact, it is not the number of megapixels that determine how good a photo will turn out to be.

If you want to make good phones at low prices, India is your biggest market. Why is tecno and infinix not in India

What i am saying is people who work hard for their money will not easily want to cough up 40K for a fone when there are alternative fones made by itel that will still serve the same function. In summary, itel, tecno and infinix are here for the middle class and hence serve a very important function in the lives of people. Fones should not just be for the privileged few, it should be for the masses and hence different cadres of companies target different classes of people.
Even as there are people that wont want to spend that amount, so there are people that will spend much more, its a matter of choice... Celebrities with millions spend it on choice properties and cars, bill gates and mark Zuckerberg that are billionaire's dont spend like that. So its a matter of choice.
Also on middle class, xiaomi, huawei and even Samsung are producing more phones for the middle class at a similar price range with dem tecno too.
Phones › Re: A Passionate Appeal To Nigerians by ddjay: 8:12am On May 01, 2019
This competition will be a very good one because tecno and infinix will have to do more win more and keep its existing customers. Infinix will send security patch regularly for note 5 and stylus 5 and also prepare for Android 10 with all seriousness because xiaomi a2 and a2 lite are also andriod one phones like note 5 and stylus 5 and don't have update delays

A phone manufacturer who doesn't see India as a bigger market than most African countries is not capitalizing on SWOT but on SCAM.

Will infinix and tecno dare take their mtk devices to India and expect patronage? they know it's only in Africa substandard products can thrive

Bro. Inasmuch as Xiaomi is here in Nigeria and which would bring much competition amongst competitors I still think bad mouthing another brand just to prove the new brand valid is bad. Never bite the hands that once fed you. TECNO has its customers that it appeals so why make it seem like the opinion is the general thing? You like Xiaomi right? Then patronise them and leave others that still loves TECNO be.
Well the truth they say is bitter,am only describing the quality of tecni and infinix, and nit happy that they chose africa for trial and error rhats all and not bad mouthing. With the way premium brands are mass producing mid rangers tells u that the competition is more than just xiaomi.huawei y series, samsung a and m series, and even google pixel is planning a mid-range series too. Apart from google the rest above are competing in terms of price and spec. Bros i believe you are a lover of quality and international standard, the prices are still similar.

Both sides of the S4 are made from highend 2.5 D composite board that is anti scratch resistant wear proof and durable. The S4 brings out the most comfortable hand feeling ever. Now, you know!
Na wa 4u o, because of xiaomi abi, so why didn't you post this since its now that infinix is about to kicked out of Nigeria (thier 90% profit) and their subsequent end, that when you are trying to bring this nursery marketing strategy. Its too late guy, throw that s4 and get a xiaomi
Phones › Re: A Honest Review Of A Tecno LA7 User Porting To Redmi Note 7 by ddjay: 12:15pm On Apr 30, 2019
atheistandproud:
I bought my LA7 from pointek stores for 44k in July 2018. I am about to give it to my younger brother and join the Redmi Note 7 train. Here's my review.

Camera: For a cheap 13MP sensor on an entry level smartphone. The camera is ok. It doesn't stack up to more expensive 12mp cameras on flagships but the camera dey try. Although its performance is horrible in lowlight.

Battery: This is the selling point of the phone. I am a heavy user. I use my phone as my workstation. I have MS word installed and can type for hours using a PC USB keyboard connected via OTG. I play PUBG, Nova Legacy and DLS all online and all heavy games for hours. When I first bought it, it lasted nearly 25 hours with very heavy use. Now it lasts about 18 hours or so on heavy use. It has never dropped battery while the screen was asleep. The battery also sadly has deteriorated quite quicker than expected.

Performance: It uses a quad core Mediatek 6737 processor that maxes out at 1.3GHz. My friend criticized me for buying it but till date, it's handled every PUBG update with some lag, as well SIM city, Dream league soccer, Nova, and work apps like Microsoft Word, MS office scanner, et al.
Down side: The RAM fills up quickly overtime and you have to clear the ram and cache manually after every use to ensure it runs smoothly. Keep every unused app in the freezer. If not, the phone will freeze and reboot. Tecno needs to work on reducing bloatware.

Connectivity: It has an okay array of connections including OTG, BT, 4G, WiFi, USB tethering, dual sim slots and SD card, and hotspot.

Design and Ergonomics: The phone is built with plastic, has a metal frame, looks like a 2018 premium phone be careful whilst carrying it about make boys no change am for you. no gorilla glass protection, get a screen guard asap. it's curved and heavy and can survive minor falls. my phone don fall well well sha.

Whilst Tecno may have started with good intentions. They have become tyrannical. They now sell poo products for high prices. Thankfully the coming of Huawei, Oppo, and Xiaomi (sorry Umidigi and Leagoo, you're just as bad) will cause Transsion to sit up.
Very good op, infinix should follow and go... Transsion can't even sell all their crap In countries like somalia, Afghanistan, benin, Togo, chad, Madagascar and Niger republic.. na Nigeria dem come yeye so

This is the usual thing we all call "beg for mercies" as in that situation you find yourself if dey are about to trigger a bomb around you.
Is the issue of tecno and infinix market share. We are always the larget market of imported goods, our exit from transsion ltd phones will surely crash the company. In our usual spirituality, lets forgive tecno and infinix and give tbem one last chance with our support, people i know they have flooded the mobile market with substandard phones, but please because of God, lets forgive them, am sure they are buckling up now to give us the best and upgrade existing phones with a newer Android. Lets not just drive them away, lets forgive and God will bless you for this.
Tell them to gather at tinubu square for 100 strokes of cain each, then i may reconsider my own decision

A friend of mine recently suggested I should get a new phone because I've been using my present phone for over 3 years... Not like there's something really bad with the phone just the charging port, the screen cracked after one small fall, the camera is nonsense it goes off on its own and the battery life is nothing to write home about... so I've been seeing this Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 phone on Jumia twitter. The phone actually looks strong. The way they were smashing the phone and it didn't break. I think I should get that one plus the camera is 48MP shocked... In fact, guys, I think you should get it too. 48MP at 58,000 please don't dull. Only on Jumia o guys. Launches at 12. grin
