My suggestion is that if you're happy and comfortable in your current job, it may be wise for you to stay. Sometimes, life is not all about money-- factors like relationships, peace of mind etc, are things that money cannot buy -- As the saying goes, it's sometimes better to stick with the familiar than to venture into the unknown.
leaving a peacfull place of work is not an easy task i must confess. I have reject many works with higher pay then what i earn. And if tell u my salary u will laff. As i speak now, i have an oppurtunity to take a job of 1m right now and i believe the offer is till open but i can't just take it because where i work presently i have a strong relationship with the MD. Some time is not all about the money, we still consider relationship. But mind u people who do not really give Bleep about relation tends to break forth faster in our present Nigeria.

Career / Re: How Do You Cope With 60k Salary In Port Harcourt ? by deavicky(m): 8:39am On Mar 04
valETA1:
I'm at a crossroad towards making a decision of either staying back or moving to PH.

I've jst been transferred, bt the truth is, where I'm currently at, my 60k salary is well manageable.

Though, I dont have problems adapting to most of the cities I've been to, and will also love to move down there. But owning to the present economic situation, is it worth I move ? Is it a trap ?.

Aside accommodation which my company has, Can I take care of myself in PH with my 60k allawee ?

PH based please, I need ur opinions, as I still have option to decline, as such, your views will be of much help at this time.
I stay in PH and I"m also a family man. I can authoritativly tell u that prices of food stuff is ifair in port Harcourt than many parts of Nigeria except for the Northern part of the country that i have less knowledge of. The only time u will begin to have problem is when u are an activity man (drinking)and decides to get more than 1 girl friend.
Food / Re: Hardship: 5 Cheap Soups You Can Cook With N1000 In Nigeria by deavicky(m): 8:20am On Mar 04
Great100000:
(2) Egusi Soup

Egusi is a traditional one-pot soup that combines blended melon seed, pepper, leafy vegetables, and meat. It is nutty, spicy, and tasty.

With N1000 you can prepare an egusi soup. Here is how:

N250 – Half cup of Egusi

N150 – Grounded Pepper

N200 – Palm Oil

N300 – Pumpkin leave (Ugwu)
which kind of soup the this?. No salt, onion, maggi, crefish nor fish?. How u do think it will taste.
The problem of this country is that we think we can always adjust to bad situations. Other countries are moving from bad to good while ours is the reverse and some people here think u can cook with less than a dollar.

Politics / Re: Hardship: Nigerians Are In Pains And Frustration. My Experience This Morning. by deavicky(m): 6:38pm On Mar 02
Seezion:
Nigeria is already known as one of the poorest countries in the world but i believe the duty of governments of the country (if they are sincere to themselves) is to work to change the status and not to make policies that deepened the poverty situation.

Whether anybody likes it or not, the policies taken by this government which is responsible for the hardship Nigerians are currently going through would only render more Nigerians poor and poorer.

In a country where unemployment/underemployment is so high, people are struggling to even feed and survive. A very good example is myself. I am underemployed, that is to say my salary is poor and nothing to write home about. Not as though i'm happy about this as i am still looking for better opportunities.

Of truth, only N600 was left with me yesterday. I couldn't afford to have dinner and so i slept empty stomach that yesterday. There's this woman selling bread near a bakery along the road i pass to work. Her price is considered the cheapest, so many people buy from her. My plan was to use the N600 to buy bread from there, which i can manage throughout the day or even till tomorrow, hopefully miracle can happen and another money enters my hand.

As i went there this morning, the N600 bread is now N800. No surprise about that at all, knowing the country we are living in today. This spoilt the plan and i was confused, disturbed and broken down. I stood there for over 5 mins hopelessly, with hunger and anger in me.

That small time, one elderly woman in the shop was sobbing. I later realized she started crying after she couldn't afford the current price of rice. Another guy came and asked for a pack of indomie and was told N1000. He sighed bitterly and left. Then i saw another two guys who came to the shop, joined their money together (400+400) and bought the N800 bread and divided it into two, for each.

That was a nice decision though even though it would reduce the quantity, but as i didnt see someone to join too, i left the place to work without buying the bread.

Any alternatives for me?

There's absolutely no alternative for since everything is on the high side. I could have opted for rice and beans, but i wont know when i will start crying after mamaput has dished the quantity for me. Surely it will be small. So i decided not to go near there. What about Garri and soup? I dont know for everywhere but i can tell you, there's mow where i could find a plate of Garri and soup for N600. Even if there is, i would still cry over the quantity. What about noodles that used to do 'rescue mission'? Well, i just told you a pack is now N1000, when i had only N600 with me. What of biscuit? I refused to "waste" my last money on something that would not last me the next 1 hour after i have eaten. Akara? Have you seen the sizes of Akara in recent? N100 own looks very small, so i still decided not to buy.

At the end, all options failed. Till this minute, nothing has entered my stomach and i'm still holding tight to my N600. Yes i am hungry and weak but the N600 must be for something that can keep me for a while, hopefully another money would come my way before i am hungry again.

Sadly, my in quote "salary" is still far, till Thursday next week, but i have to survive however it is.

It's a very tough time for most of us Nigerians right now.

Lastly, government should know that
most Nigerians are not asking for luxury, just basic things made affordable for survival and food is obviously not affordable to many Nigerians today. Please government should do something about food crisis in the country.

May God help us, the common citizens.
if we don"t rise to speak in a loud way they can hear, people will die of hunger. The same death we fear.

having seen this, some idioots will say petrol is cheap in Nigeria than those countries. Meanwhile an average man in those countries does not buy petrol. While almost everybody buys petrol here because of electricity. Finally it is also worthy to note that all this country that are being compared with us does not have crude oil as we do or they don"t have at all.

Family / Re: A Strange Woman In My Home! Please How Do I Go About It? by deavicky(m): 11:42am On Feb 22
BigBlackPreek:
Good day familylanders.

I come here to air my current dilemma and ask for a way out.

I'm married with a kid, got separated with my husband last year Jan due to some little issues that weren't managed properly and got escalated..

We stayed in touch for A year cos of child welfare and the rest. He obviously had a relationship with another lady in his base, while I remain single

Sometimes this year, we started talking about reconciliation and the talks went well, we've seen our mistakes and accepted to work on the marriage.

He confessed to me he had a relationship with a lady but he told he was married with a child and he wasn't going to divorce his wife neither marry her (the lady) so twas a deal sort of and he has broken up with her ( which she confirmed)

He's come to see me in my place and I got posted for an official assignment to his state..He told me the girl has refused to leave even after he told her he has reconciled with his wife and the rest.

I got in yesterday and all hell was let loose, the lady was so violent and was saying all manner of trash, threatening fire and hailstone..

I simply asked her, do you know he was married? Did he tell you we were divorced?? Did you see my things in the house?

She answered "yes". She said she has no place to go..I was even willing to give her something to take care of herself but she said " no", she wanted my husband and I should start realising she will become a second wife..

My husband in all this have been calling people to talk to her and go without violence..She's called my in-laws to curse (dunno how she got their numbers)... calling friends to tell them she isn't moving out of the house

It's really messy here and I don't want to create a scene..someone advised me I should involve the Civil defence authority.
I really dunno what to do
Please advise me
your husband should have out her away without getting you involved. Probably do that before ur arrival.
Even if u get any force to pull her out, don't forget she is human who emotions has been toyed with. She is feeling been used.

Which 8s about #60k meanwhile 10 months aga it would have been #22k by convertion rate. This conutry is completly finshed in the hand of Tinubu and his supporters.
