We call the first one okoso in my domain, that brings me to remember my class mate in ADSS Bori camp.He is called Tururuu. Back then we use to play a game if you roll it and cut it and it close and the next man fail to do same, he will place his hand on the floor and u will use the Okoso to knock his hand. If Tururuu knocks us blood will come out but when knock him, his skin will open but blood won’t come out. So my friend noticed it and said is high time we stop because Tururuu does not have blood and he is waisting our blood. No be enh Tururuu hear am come begin fight me and my friend, saying why we say he no get blood. But truly it is obvious that he does not have blood.

I met this fine geh at a tech event in Lagos.
Before the event started, we had a little chit-chat and mehn, she was exactly my type. Beautiful, intelligent, confident, and we just clicked. You know that kind of connection that feels like you’ve known someone for years? Yeah, that was it.

At the end, I asked for her name she said Linda.

Then I asked where she was from, she said Anambra.

She mentioned it and boom, it’s in the same local government as mine. I was like, “This is fate.”

Everything was lining up perfectly.
She was single, I’m single, we shared interests, goals, and background… until one tiny moment changed everything.

She gave me her business card and I didn’t see a single Igbo name on it.
Both her first and last names were English.

When I got home, I texted her, I asked, gently, “Don’t you have an Igbo name?”

Her reply?

“I don’t like my Igbo name, and I don’t like speaking Igbo either.”

That one message drained everything I felt for her.
Instantly.

It wasn’t about tribal pride or anything dramatic, it was just the realization that we might see identity differently.
Because for me, being Igbo isn’t just where I’m from, it’s who I am. It’s the rhythm in my thoughts, the tone in my laughter, the root of my values.

And when someone rejects that part of themselves, it feels like they’ve rejected a part of me too.

So yeah… I ghosted her.
Not because she wasn’t amazing, but because something in me went cold.

But still, I can't help but wonder: what's so addictive about smoking? And why do people still choose to smoke up on all the warnings and health risks?

Just the other day I came across an empty pack of cigarettes. Lo and behold, they've graduated from just writing "smokers are liable to die young" to know using graphic images of a severely cigarette-damaged lung. All this in a to dissuade people from smoking.

Hi everyone, I’m posting on behalf of a friend who’s been experiencing a skin issue.

From time to time, her skin starts to swell and becomes very itchy. When she scratches the area, it gets worse l, the swelling increases, and the irritation spreads. She describes the sensation as feeling like “worms” under the skin. There are no visible worms, but that’s how she describes the feeling. All the recommended drugs so far isn't working.

From the moment pictures started going out of the pot Hilda Bacci planned to use for her record setting attempt to cook the world's largest pot of jollof rice, anyone with a fair background in physics and possibly material science would have sensed something was off. There was no way that pot was going to serve.

See, physics is impassionate and brutal. It's laws are set from the beginning of creation. For Hilda's record to have gone through without a hitch, the laws of physics would have been broken.

I don't know what the dimensions the pot of galvanized steel she used are. I do however know that they were far too insufficient. The math alone was going to be problematic. Her initial plan was to use 250 bags of rice for that pot. Assuming she used 50kg bags of rice, that's already 12.5 tons. She later reduced the quantity to 200 bags which is 10 tons of rice or 10,000 kg. A look at that pot and its supporting legs clearly indicate it is no way rated to handle such a load. Disaster was already afoot.

Heat causes metal to expand. This expansion, weakens the metallic bonds that holds the atoms that make up the metal in the pot. The weight of the rice in the pot further strains the structure of the pot, hence the collapse.

She and her team did not consult widely nor did they meet qualified engineers for counsel. Today's disaster was inevitable as a result.

while it is good u introduce physics to explain ur point but the fact is that the pot did not fail because of the amount of load or heat it absorb but rathe it deformed because it was anchored wrongly. If theyhad put 4 or 8 lifting eyes around the pot on the top it wouldn’t had deformed. The pot only followed the angle created by the crane because the belt was passed at the bottom of the pot. If they had brace the pot at the top ,side and bottom it would had lifted without such deformity using same method .And mind it did not deformed during the cooking.
