Sometimes I just feel IRCC are confused, on their website they mention TRV is handled by Kenya visa office, but of recent many people are noticing that the visa office handling their applications is actually Lagos

You’re correct, Lagos has been handling Nigerian applicants applying from Nigeria lately.

Gbam! My long epistles were put up for such a reason as this grin. You can imagine several silent applicants who had fallen victim too. He/she who has ears, let him/her hear.

I don't know how best this applicant can package his application and the VO will be convinced. So sad! You're paying someone out of laziness, whom you can even lecture on visa application packaging, just because they told you they're an agent, lol. What a fraudulent arrangee. A Dr applicant who is an O'L holder in a real life, SMH!.

I know someone who can never enter America for the rest of his life again due to an agent's involvement in his application. He used a credit card which didn't belong to him to register a conference for the applicant and his visa was approved. On getting to POE at DC, the CBP called the conference organisers who said there was a fraudulent charge on the CC used and they've sent him several mails to provide a different card or pay by T/T but he didn't respond so, they deregistered him.

Meanwhile the email address the agent used to register belonged to the latter. He was receiving those mails but ignored them. The guy was arrested, put inside a cold cell for 2 days and deported.
The Applicant had gone to hire immigration lawyers recently, after several refusals . He had paid the lawyers heavily. Meanwhile this innocent man paid the agent the naira amount as agreed. But the eediot went and registered a conference for him with a card that didn't even belong to him. This happened nearly 2 decades ago.
After all that has been said and done, anyone who engages an agent because they don’t have the time to do their application themselves are on their own. Agents are largely known to fill conflicting information and earn people temporary or life bans.

I got stamped in at Philadelphia last year. Stamp or no stamp is not something anyone should worry about.
It’s nothing to worry about and the officers also make it known which is why they have the tiny i94 slip to pass to anyone that asks about the stamp.

Good Morning. Pls i would appreciate your input. We just arrived the US today for a short stay but myself and my husband noticed d immigration officer after taking our finger prints and snapping us didnot stamp our Visa page with d 6 months stay. So right now we don't ve any visual evident on our passport that we entered d US. Pls is this d new method cos d last time we were here as in 2018 and they stamp u in for 6 month . Thnk you for your response.
Google I-94 log in using your details (passport number, last name & date of. Birth) and you’ll see your enter and exit details from the last ten years regardless of whether you changed passports or not on the last ten years.

There is. It depends on the mood of the immigration officers. I got stamped twice in the last two years out of about 8 entries .
Atlanta stopped stamping since 2022. No more physical stamps in some airports instead they give you slip to check your I-94 online e.g Atlanta.

. You know the reason why I did not reply you?
You said anyone that disputes your position does not know about it.

Stop talking like that. No one knows it all. Only people with very little exposure talk like that.

I won’t go into details but no one will give you emergency appointment to attend conference.
Short training less than three months can qualify for EA technically. However, the business entity both in Nigeria and US must prove that they will lose some business opportunities unless you attend the training. It is extremely difficult to prove that with a conference. I’ve gotten emergency appointment using urgent business travel twice and it is always because I was going to do a job and my income for the job is usually around 50k dollars over 4 months period so that should tell you how important that job is to the company.

Infact, IT IS EXPRESSLY STATED THAT YOU CANT USE CONFERENCE TO GET EMERGENCY APPOINTMENT.

Stop saying only your position is correct. Learn from others . Only illiterates insist their position is always the best.
lol you have strength. Ignore the menace 😂

I have like three friends who kickstarted their journey to the US this same way. Nairaland could be an amazing resource to help only if you put in the work. If you’re not interested no problem. If you are, reach out.

Asking to see someone’s grades and a simple essay to prove a person’s candidacy is cumbersome and weird?? So I should just pay for a random person’s exam without knowing their intentions? God Abeg

I asked you how to reach out to NL you didn’t answer. You don’t even know me and you’re assuming things. No wahala

Hi, yes I sent an essay, WAEC result and transcript to him when I did mine. This is just to prove the person’s candidacy. I got more scholarships at Stillman so I chose stillman. I don’t understand what you mean by constantly asking people to send me pms. All the questions I asked on here are legit genuine questions that I was asking during my journey. I tell people to send me pms because it’s more convenient and well “safer” and a lot of the time I had numerous follow up questions which was better to do on email than spamming the nairaland thread here. If anyone wants to send all their “personal data” to me here on nairaland, then by all means go ahead, I’ll still help regardless.

Lastly, how can I table my gesture to the authorities of NL?? Who do I need to contact to do that? Cause I’m a real person lol and what in the world am I going to use someone’s WAEC info and transcript to do?? There’s thousands of those online. When I did mine, I never thought of personal data or whatever but maybe times are different.

You have time

Good day everyone.

I recently lost my elder sister who was residing in Canada after immigrating through the express entry route last year.

We are currently making arrangements for her burial, which will take place in Canada. What are the necessary steps for my family and I to attend the burial, and which visa should we apply for? Despite searching online, I haven't been able to find helpful information on this matter.

Kindly assist if you have any knowledge on this. Thank you.
So sorry about this. Please accept my condolences.

Hello guys , I will be leaving for Canada in two weeks on a visit visa , but I did an upfront medical today because I have an intention of switching to study visa when I get there .

Now my questions are, is there an implication for doing the medicals when the medicals isn't even requested or required ?

And if it will be an issue can I ask Qlife clinic to cancel my medical and not upload it ?

I will appreciate responses , thanks 🙏
If you’re admitted for a masters degree or PhD you don’t need an attestation letter. If not please arrange yourself before you enter Canada to avoid delays.

Hello,

Your advice is needed please.

I and my family of 4 applied for a US B1/B2visa in 2020 but was cancelled by the embassy due to covid. I later had it rescheduled for April 23, 2024.

But he is the issue, we are all in Canada now on work permit while the kids are on study permit.

I need to see my sister in the US and I am also missing home. But attempt to get a early date here in Canada has been unsuccessful.

I thinking of flying back to Nigeria alone to attend the interview but I am wondering if my chance of getting the visa approved is weak since my ties( family, Job, Homes and others) are no longer in Nigeria.

What are your thoughts?

If you're eager to visit your family in the U.S. but haven't secured a suitable date for your visa interview in Canada yet, consider returning home to attend the interview. Traveling with kids solely for an interview can be quite stressful. If asked by the Visa officer why you made the journey, simply explain that you have other commitments in the country at the time of the interview, efficiently handling multiple tasks at once.

Ensure your DS-160 form accurately reflects your current situation and answer all questions confidently and truthfully. Best of luck with your interview!

Scarcity of date issue is not peculiar to Nigeria only. It’s only worse in Nigeria and it’s gradually dousing in other countries.

I was scheduled for an appointment just 10 days before my travel date, despite booking it approximately four weeks in advance. It's worth noting that they may inquire about the date on your travel ticket to establish your appointment date, with the ticket date falling within a four-week window when you make the call.

When I added my baby to my ticket, I didn't have to provide passport details because the baby didn't have one at that time, and the airline didn't request them either. I simply provided the baby's name.

I suggest contacting the airline directly. Since you've already used one leg of your ticket, they should be willing to assist you in adding your baby as a lap infant.

DNP is a professional Doctoral degree. It means very little. As long as you’re an NP, you can Practice in accordance to the law. Finally even most (more than 95%) of NiCU units are man by NPs not physicians.
You don’t sound like someone who has first hand information on what they’re talking about so it’s of no use doing a back and forth. NICU units manned by NP’s what happened to the pediatric neonatologists. FYI NICU units depending on which level always have Nurse practitioners, NICU nurses and paediatric Neonatologist's on ground at all times.
Google is not always correct sometimes or let’s say it doesn’t give the true picture.

Good afternoon everyone! I applied for my mom's visa interview in 2022. The only available dates at that time were in 2024. I was able to schedule one in May 2024. I received an email that it has been rescheduled to an earlier date in April 2024. It's been a while and there's been so many updates since then.

My question is do I need to create a new DS-160 for her with updated information? She has a new passport number and the DS-160 on her profile is the one from 2022.

What are the other things that may need updating as well?

Thank you!

***I modified my post to state that her visa application is for the B1/B2 visa.
2022 has been a long time. Fill a new form, put her new passport number , take both passports to the embassy because she got the visa fee on the previous passport. Update the passport number on her appointment scheduling profile or call the contact center to update for you.

CRNAs, Psychiatry NPs, Dermatology NPs etc make more than some medical specialties like Family medicine, Emergency Medicine, Pediatric Medicine and a few others.
Maybe if you said DNP’s that own their practices I’d have said maybe maybe not.
Paediatric doctors make a lot of money, let your child land in NICU and you’ll know how much they make on a daily.

I have gone ahead to update my appitment page with the new ds160 application number.

My question is do i need call the us embassy to inform them to delete my previous ds160 and merge the new application with my appointment date?

Thank you.

Thank you for replying. I applied to Seattle uni but they said they’ll need Wes evaluation, considering my case and the low gpa… don’t know if it will be successful cos it’s almost 500k after conversion.
Given your ability to afford the fees, I strongly recommend pursuing a top-up degree in the UK. I suggest looking into institutions like the University of Plymouth and Northumbria University, among others. A top-up degree offers a chance to enhance your qualifications and essentially replace your previous degree. It's like a second opportunity at university, typically lasting just a year, and culminating in a bachelor's degree. Following this, you can then consider pursuing a master's degree at a university of your choice. This is simply my personal opinion, but I believe it's worth considering given the benefits and opportunities it can offer.

Hi house,

My name is Sharon, I’m new here.
I have a Thirdclass degree in accounting 1.78/5.0 from LASU, I graduated in 2021. I’ve been working as. Finance analyst for 2years now, so looking into data anaIytucs/business analytics
I want to go abroad for studies, I don’t know of any school in USA that accepts low gpa(PLEASE I NEED HELP WITH THAT).
Received several rejections from UK. So please I need help with schools in USA (I’m funding myself, but I wouldn’t mind fully funded also)

Please TREAT URGENTLY

If you’re looking to go to the Uk you should be looking to go for a top up program and not masters degree.
For the U.S. you should try to search on google first and also I’m sure those who have an idea here will help you out, if I come across any I’ll edit this message to include them but you should really consider a top up I have a few people who did that.

Please, what could be the reason? I need help! Someone should explain to me what is wrong. Thanks.

Hey!
Congratulations on your acceptance. First, I will make my recommendations for what you should look out for when you have two competitive offers.
1. The program at the University, sometimes schools may rank higher, but specific programs may be better in a lower ranked school. E.g. John Hopkins is seen as the No 1 Medical school but it's no where near Harvard or Stamford in general University ranking.
2. The University ranking. It is important. Without looking at Us.news. I know for a fact that UF is a better school in terms of University ranking. UF has maintained top 5 public schools in America for a long time (among top publics like UC Berkley, UCLA, UMichigan, UVirginia, UNC Chapel Hill) It was recently ranked No 1 Public school by wallstreet. UMaryland is private school but still not higher than UF in national ranking. Do a quick research yourself.
3. The alumni network is a big factor, UF has a very strong alumni network - Gator Nation. I cannot overstate how important this can be until you graduate.
4. Opportunities in school and after school. The professors, the quality of students, what you would be exposed to in school, where their graduate end up after school. Just to add UF is located few hours from Orlando, which housed Disney world, Universal Studio, Sea world and the likes, saying this cos your degree is in painting or fine art.
5. Money, Funding, cost of living. Putting all these together but it matters when the two options are very close in terms of ranking and opportunities. Cost of living is higher in college park than in Gainesville, Florida is not really cheap but Gainesville isnt crazily expensive. However, Maryland is close to DC few hours to Philly and New York.
Finally, I will recommend you speak with current students in both schools to also get first hand information. If you want to chat about UF, you can send a DM. I can also link you up with current students in UMaryland, got friends there. Goodluck with your decision.

Your perspective makes a lot of sense, and you've expressed exactly what I've been thinking. Personally, I'll consider the program ranking in that school compared to others.

Good day house. Please I would apprecaite
all insight you provide .

Myself and my husband have a 2 years visa which would expire 20th of March 2024 thi i our secind renewal. We were looking for date for my daughter ho doesnot ve any Isues Visa hence d last minutes decision for myself and my husband to go. because due to covid year, we were unable to use our second US issued visa so it expired. So we thinking on going to D US nd spending even if its few days and get back after the 20th of March . Bear in mind our visa expires 20th if March. So our worry Is would there be any negative impact on our Vis renewal if we return back to Nigeria few days after our visa expires . We intend spending just 10days. I would appreciate feedbacks. Thank you.
Make sure you touch down U.S. soil before the 20th if not you’ll be turned back. To be safe get there 19th to avoid stories. Officer will let you in at his or her discretion for the 6 months per usual. Getting back after your visa has expired if you were legally let in by the cbp officer carries no consequences. My visa expired a few weeks after I got in the last time and I renewed when I arrived without issues.
The U.S. rule is don’t exceed the number of days you were stamped in for at the border.

Uk rule is leave before your visa expires.
