I got a job in the u.s and i am to resume in early june 2024 but my appointment date was Nov 2025. After some few minutes i saw that the appointment has been cancelled but it still reflect on my dashboard as Nov 2025. I was in a panic mode and I don't know what to do. They have been asking me to upload my visa appointment date to complete my onboarding process, so I applied for emergency appointment stating my date and i uploaded a pdf of my employment letter showing my arrival dating and every other details. I received a mail now that my emergency application has been denied. Pls what can i do because I don't want to lose this job coz It was really hard getting it and my medical cert would have expired before November 2025.

I know that as of a year ago if your first attempt is denied for EA you can reapply, but I don’t k so what obtains right now, just check through your portal and see if you can reapply already and this time around utilize that box to explain yourself properly and add other documents that you think will help them grant you the EA

Getting a bachelors at 21 is pretty dicey but not undoable, also this study gap between 2020 and 2024 are you able to properly articulate and account for this gap to show you have been busy. Also can you try another school and probably take SAT, get a full ride. Try Alabama A&M I know they give full rides to good SAT scores. I wish you all the best in your endeavour because two after refusals you need to plan and strategize properly so the third time can be the charm.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I had experienced my passport not being stamped before.Most probably you are permitted to stay for 6months and he would have noted it in his computer. There's actually a website where you can check by filling in your passport number,but I can't remember it now

They stopped stamping sometime around Oct 2022 in ATL I was also confused I returned to meet the officer and he handed me a little paper that contained the I-94 website details, confusion hook me too that day. When I returned in April the following year to have my baby I wasn’t surprised anymore I was a big girl

I have expired F1 visa i used for cabrillo college then. I currently have a 5 year B1/B2 so that knocks off your believe that it's only those who have been to the US that has brain to research.

A Nigerian who got F1 visa from Abuja or Lagos and wants to renew in Canada or Mexico is permissible but such applicant is now a 3rd citizen. The VO will even wonder why coming here ? Why not your country ? If he or she got a denial i tell you go and ask, such student won't be able to go back to the US from Mexico or Canada except thru illegal avenue.

What you are trying to promote is called ' Consular Shopping ( leaving your home country where you got visa ) which the US embassies frown at.

US visa officers all over the world under went same training and seminars .the result u will get in India is what you will 95% get in Ghana embassy.

Some people are qualified and were refused. My colleagues then got refused and they did nothing different after about two and three trials they got the visa again. Nothing different. They paid their bills they had receipts they travelled to other countries in between.

I renewed in Abuja in 2019 I was working in Abuja on secondment, what Babyfaiz described as the mood of the embassy was my situation that day, I was just laughing that day because in my mind I was thinking “what will happen to me today”. Abuja brutal.
Just to add, everyone that I know that left Lagos to interview in Abuja maybe because they perceived it’s easier there, have all gotten refused.
If you live in Lagos just do your interview in Lagos and wish yourself all the best.

Last I checked they allowed babies in because who will hold your baby for you while you’re in? Nobody.

Ok, so do you advice I go with my initial plan of going for seminar which will now be in 2025, without making payment, no correspondence from them, and no contact.

Or do you suggest I change the plan to vacation this year and during interview I can then inform the VO of my major intention which is attending the seminar which will now come up in 2025, since I cannot get interview date before the seminar date.

I’d say tell them this seminar was scheduled for March 2024 but due to the hassles around getting a date it was impossible to get a date for March to attend the seminar but it also holds in 2025 and you’ll wish to use the visa for the seminar in 2025 and for holidays too. I don’t think they should have a problem with a direct and sincere explanation regarding your circumstances.
Also you can try your luck and use the documents regarding the seminar to apply for an expedited interview date, they just may grant you the request, make sure you succinctly explain yourself in the box provided and also attach the documentation.
