Good morning all, in spirit of keeping the thread going.
My visa was approved this morning
I have a valid and expired U.S. visas and previous biometrics from 2021. My previous attempt to renew took time and I withdrew the application and lost the visa fee
I submitted again in June (27th)
Approved August (23rd)

Where’s your POE? Direct to Houston or you’ll stop over in a city within the U.S. before connecting to Houston.
Your POE is the first city you touch down in the USA before connecting to your final destination.

Please remember to carry all the documents(hard or soft copies) you think will support your case. Also, make sure to have your credit cards, cash, and other funds in case you are stopped and questioned about your reason for being in the USA to give birth. Depending on the port of entry you choose, you may or may not be subject to questioning. It's a bit of a gamble.

Your immigration contact /agent must have stated that your passport is missing or stolen, with a police report filed before the passport was approved for issuance. That is a fact, and we should not deceive ourselves. This is the same reason you need to give to the IRCC, which you should have done immediately after receiving that passport. However, I guess it's not too late. Claiming you want to enjoy a 10-year visa and now having two valid passports is illegal. Last year and earlier this year, many people were doing this, but I believe the IRCC has started cracking down on this behavior.l hope you get visa stamped in your passport soon.

If his passport was the old one there’s something called migration, you can choose to migrate to the new passport by paying 10,000 to immigration services plus the fee for the new passport and you obtain a new passport.

Send a web form and an email to the Lagos or Abuja embassy. Attach both passports' biodata pages and explain what you did. The reason why your passport hasn’t been returned has just been stated in previous responses.

Background story + transcript.
She flew from lagos to Houston, of course with a 2 hr stop over in Istanbul. She got fit to fly from her hospital (medison) and the Turkish airline people said the fit to fully will suffice and no need for the FAAN medical (that one is 10,200 naira). Flight was delayed because of IT problem in aviation since last week. She finally left 2 hours late. Fast forward to IAH. I called her (had done e sim for her) and was educating her on what to say. I was praying fervently and waiting for her to call me. I was mostly scared because we didn’t say we were going to have our baby at the interview.
Cbp officer - How are you doing today? Why are you here and how long will you be staying? Wifey - over 2 months, be staying in Airbnb apartment until my family comes. Then we’ll be moving to a bigger place. Immediately she said child birth. The officer screamed and called another officer.

Thank God she made it. I’m happy to hear this. I’ve witnessed pregnant women turned back at Houston POE, personally I advise people to avoid that particular POe and Chicago.

It doesn’t seem like anyone is going to the US to give birth these days. Tinubu has happened to us and US vis a is now tough. I keep coming here to see if one or two person will share child birth story in the US but nothing nothing. May God help us in this country. USD = 1620 now.

The embassy isn’t really granting visas as such anymore to new applicants and inflation isn’t making it easier, most people have relocated to the Uk or Canada

I disagree with what you just said, I know someone recently whose B1 visa was canceled when the F1 was denied. The VO said this to the applicant by saying do you know you can't travel to the US with your B1/B2 anymore because it has been canceled.

I also heard some V.O’s cancel B1/B2 visas once F1 is refused while some don’t because I also know of one who didn’t have their B1/B2 canceled after the F1 was refused. So it can actually go either way.

I highlighted your problem in a nutshell. Your bachelor's degree was in History, but you are seeking a master's in Painting? How do those go together? You've essentially abandoned your first degree and only stumbled on your love for painting when you joined an internship. Yeah, you didn't prove that you were a genuine student.

This thing is dicey. I know two people recently approved the masters has nothing to do with their undergraduate degree, the second person told the v.o with his masters is unrelated from the beginning of the interview. I think it depends on who you meet.

Sometimes I feel these types of questions are more about letting everyone know you are traveling out. There is no way this is a genuine question that could be easily answered by looking at your ticket or Lufthansa's website.

It was initially filled in 2023 and he got the interview date for July 2024.
All info on the previous form he filled remains the same.
Does he only need to take a recent passport photograph along for his interview? Or do we have to fill another DS-160 form again? If yes, pls advise on how to do that.....thanks in advance!

I didn’t disclose the exact reason to them I just told them personal reasons. Reason was I had a baby close to the resumption date and I got the admission the previous year, I didn’t want to adjust status in the usa so I decided to allow time to figure things out and take it up the next year. It was very easy and it was done via email, I got an update admission letter and paid my seat deposit thereafter for my I-20 a few months later. Deferring your admission is not hard at least it wasn’t for me. An email sorted it out. But I did this after fall session had resumed.
