If the 180 persons arrested had the intentions of distabilizing the election tomorrow, will they need only two guns? I wonder how the police expect them to share it?
The two vigilante arrested with the guns are certified security outfit in Imo, why mix up both issues?
Whoever sent the police to make those arrests definitely doesn't want well meaning Nigerians to see the evil they'll do on election day.
The police has a long standing pedigree of corruption, so does PDP.
Quote me, these people would be released FREE and without any charges after the election.

I used to sleep in church especially in night services and the sleep is usually the strongest and sometimes, i would wish that a bed be presented to me at that spot. The funny thing is that i always pray that the service comes to an end as soon as possible and when the service eventually comes to an end, the sleep disappears. on sighting the pic I know that this is usual occurrence in some assemblies. it is not the picture in question but the incidence. It is usually spiritual attack. you struggle with the sleep and your whole body will be weak and immediately after the service the sleep will be gone. ebamma: indians will not just do this for nothing sake, i bet many nigerians based in goa, might be involved in many vices that take place there check this: How 50 Nigerians held the Goa Police to ransom IANS PANAJI, NOVEMBER 2, 2013 | UPDATED 15:25 IST Nigerians are "seven feet" tall, are "huge and aggressive" and it needs anywhere between two to 10 Goa Police personnel to tackle each of them. That's why, says Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, the police could not reign in an irate mob of Nigerians that blocked a key highway, beat up policemen and vandalised a police van after one of their compatriots was found murdered. "They are huge and aggressive. Some of them are seven feet tall. It would take at least 100 of our policemen to handle a crowd of 50 Nigerians," Parrikar told reporters, when he was asked why the police force did not make any effort for nearly an hour to clear National Highway-17 that was blocked Thursday by bare-torsoed, muscled Nigerians armed with hockey sticks, bamboos and knives. The Nigerians were demanding that the autopsy on the deceased Obina Obiwesi be conducted in the presence of the Nigerian ambassador in India. The murder, the Nigerian protestors claimed, had been committed by a gang called Chapora boys, a notorious underground drug mafia operating in north Goa, and the police had been unwilling to act against the alleged murderers, who were locals. They blocked the highway by dumping the corpse bang in the middle of the road after smashing open the police hearse and extracting the body from it. The brazen manner in which Goa Police officers were cowered down in public by a group of 50 well- built Nigerians (the mob later swelled to nearly 200) and Parrikar's continued dogged defence of the state police has evoked an extremely strong reaction in the social media as well as among people across sections. The mob not only threatened and warded off over 20 policemen, including Superintendent of Police (North) Priyanka Kashyap, but also told the latter off in a verbal duel. The intimidation was such that Parrikar, himself claimed that he saw one "herculesque Nigerian" who he believed would need 10 Goa policemen to control. "He was nearly seven feet. He would have needed at least 10 policemen to control," said Parrikar, who is also the state's home minister. The chief minister also said that he had inherited a corrupt and ineffective police force that had been reduced to shambles by the previous Congress-led regime, whose home minister Ravi Naik and kin now face charges of being involved in the drug trade. The incident has triggered an avalanche of reactions. "The police department is scared of Nigerians. I am ashamed to say this," said Michael Lobo, a legislator of the ruling BJP. Independent legislator Rohan Khaunte, whose constituency of Porvorim was host to the high- voltage drama, said that the public came to the rescue of the police instead of it being the other way around. "The situation was mishandled. Action should be taken against the SP North. Locals in fact helped the police and not the other way around," he said. |

rudedough: WHY IGBOS ARE EASILY ATTRACTED TO CRIME
An average Igbo man is brought up to be aware of his responsibilities. He is expected to adopt a ‘take charge’ attitude to life and so from childhood he learns as a boy to go out and take risks, get in fights, know his territories, protect it and every other person on it.
Every Igbo man needs no foreign interpretation to know that money is a must have to be recognized in your kindred. The more reason why at a very tender age, some unfortunate parents send their child out to their brother in-law in Lagos to learn trade. Reason not because they don't like their child, but because they want him to have a better life and be respected/recognized in his society.
Our culture does not tolerate poverty. In the eyes of our elders, poverty is seen as a sign of weakness or laziness. This misconception has driven our men to become extremists. Our elders/fathers also do not help matters at all, they like to compete among themselves, not in their child’s intellectual or academic qualifications but over whose child is the richest or drive the most expensive car or built the most luxurious house in the village. These classification based on how much wealth you have acquired has successfully driven gullible youths into undertaking extreme crimes like this one.
Every December, during annual village meeting, when Igbo youths gather in the village from various parts of the world, the talk of who brought back the best cars and who has built the most luxurious house in the village becomes the order of the day. Even some not-yet-wealthy youths travel all the way to the village just to see for themselves what their peers have achieved. This experience psychologically further drive their extremism to greater height.
In this village meeting, poor men (no matter what your academic qualifications are) are made to sit at the back, while "real men" (educated or not) give speech. And when an educated man tries to convey a message, they hurl all kinds of insult at him like "Sit down there, are we discussing grammar here? Is certificate the name of a currency". My Igbo brothers can testify to this.
Now comes when an Igbo man needs to take a wife, the process and money involved can cripple a multi-national company if care is not taken to recuperate the losses within a certain period of time. Most of my tribesmen never made it back to their feet after their marriage. The truth is, the bride's parents (Most of them) do not care about how their daughter lives with her husband after their marriage. And when they start having kids, the problem escalates and it cripples the business totally, leaving most men to start all over again. Most of our men blame their predicament on some mysterious witchcraft or wizard in the village and the pressure is passed unto one child to another, so the virtuous circle continues.
I don't want to get start-ish on the burial rights. These old men don't care if you are financially stable or not, their brother is dead and he must be buried ASAP. The burial is not the problem here, but having to deal with all sorts of committee telling you their individual rights. One group may demand for 1 cow, 10 tubers of yam, drinks and all sorts of items, another group may ask for something else, believe me, these groups are almost endless. Most Igbo men become indebted after losing their parent, and they sometimes never recover from that financial crisis.
If only my tribesmen could be educated on the danger our tradition possess, we would work to abolish those wrecking customs of ours. I can go on and on and on but maybe my tribesmen could shed some light to what i just said. I am only a youth in my early 20s, maybe i don't know anything, or maybe I’m being too emotional. I'll appreciate if someone old enough would enlighten me on our core customs and traditional values.
Igbos are good people, I won’t blame our youths for the crimes they choose to undertake; I’ll blame our elders for putting those stipe traditions upon their children. please moderator, keep this post as classified document |

9ja_lyfe: http://saharareporters.com/news-page/efcc-discovers-1-billion-speaker-bankoles-proxy-account-uba-jonathan-wades-halt-his-arrest By SaharaReporters, New York
SaharaReporters’ investigation of the outgoing Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, has unearthed that he owns a startling $1 billion stashed away in a domiciliary account at the United Bank of Africa (UBA). Our investigations revealed that the account is being operated for Mr. Bankole by his Principal Officer, Maurice Ekpeyong.
The account was opened in 2009 and had since been operated on behalf of Bankole by Mr. Ekpeyong.
Our investigation confirms that the 41-year old outgoing Speaker had diverted funds into the account from budgetary allocations to the House of Representatives.
Sources at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) told SaharaReporters that their investigators were stunned by the massive scale of Mr. Bankole’s money laundering activities. Two officials of the anti-corruption agency as well as a source in the Presidency disclosed that President Goodluck Jonathan was standing in the way of the EFCC’s plan to arrest Mr. Bankole in response to his latest scandal financial scam as well as a spate of other money laundering activities in their docket.
The outgoing Speaker, who has made extensive real estate deals since he became Nigeria’s fourth most powerful man, is considered to be one of the most corrupt officials in public service today in Nigeria.
He has grown immensely rich as Speaker, routinely using a variety of proxies in his extensive deals. Through such willing individuals, he has bought several houses in South Africa and the US.
The outgoing Speaker, who was trounced in his reelection bid, also recently bought the 32-storey NITEL building in Lagos for N4 billion, and is the owner of a N7 billion hotel resort undergoing construction in the Akodo area of Lekki in Lagos.
Our investigations revealed that one of Mr. Bankole’s key and most trusted money-laundering pals is Adenekan Gbadebo, the son of the Alake of Egbaland. Our sources disclosed that Mr. Gbadebo has helped Bankole move about $500 million through several bank accounts.
The Speaker and his father also recently completed seven duplexes after he tore down his father's old house in Abeokuta. Our investigations show that Mr. Bankole has built a huge mansion in Abeokuta that is completely hidden from the public through the use of tarps and construction covers.
In an investigative report in September 2010, Saharareporters had identified two ladies being used by Mr. Bankole in a N5 billion scam. The women, Angela Oselukwu and Uduak Akpan Israel, are now fugitives and have been declared wanted by the EFCC. They were involved in stealing N5 billion from the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).
Speaker Bankole and his siblings used the two fugitive women to open accounts at the UBA. Payments were then made into the accounts for the benefit of four companies belonging to the Bankoles: Vulysteke Metallic Construction Ltd, Parthenon Acropolis Nig. Ltd, Complete Trade Nig. Ltd, Zobra Global Services Ltd and F-Plus Concept Ltd.
As Speaker, Mr. Bankole was also notoriously embroiled in a N2.3 billion car scam as well as the misuse of the N9 billion capital budget of the House for 2008/2009.
Last year, the EFCC boss announced that the commission had concluded its investigation of the issue and sent its report to the presidency, but nothing further was heard from the presidency.
Mr. Bankole is also currently entrapped in another scandal in which he used the House of Representatives as collateral to obtain a personal loan of N10 billion from UBA. The loan is yet to be accounted for. The EFCC summoned Mr. Bankole to appear for interrogation last Thursday, but he did not show up. Instead, he sent a letter to the agency pleading that he was tied down by “inauguration” activities.
A baffling turn in the story is that the embattled Speaker has persuaded Mr. Goodluck Jonathan to order that the investigations against him be stopped. SaharaReporters learned today from different sources within the EFCC and the Presidency that Mr. Jonathan, who will be inaugurated tomorrow for a term of four years as President, assured the outgoing Speaker that he would prevail on the EFCC leadership to end the investigation against the speaker.
Mr. Jonathan’s intervention on behalf of the speaker contradicts pledges he made during his presidential election campaigns. Mr. Jonathan had vowed never to interfere with the work of any anti-corruption bodies. actually Jonathan has said the nation's problem s not corruption but people (his opposition) |

Prof Corruption: This is a classic example of impunity.
GEJ queried a minister over allegations of wrong doing and set up a three-man committee to probe her. Rather than suspending the minister to prevent her not only from interfering with the work of the committee but also from destroying evidence , what do we have? GEJ (the man who issued the query), Oduah ( the one under investigation) and Dansuki (a prominent member of the committee) are all together in Israel on official assignment. Possibly on same table for dinner, discussing the incredible gullibility of Nigerians? Laughing at parliamentarians blowing hot grammar on how the procurement did not follow due process?

U can't just wake up one morning and decide to relieve some one of their duties. that is not cool.
Any way, the best was is to bring his or her sins before her or him. tell him/her that she has been warned about that and it continued. Unfortunately the management can no longer accept that. unfortunately, his/her services is no longer needed. end it by saying good-luck
but if you are down sizing, that is a different way. explain what the management/ the company is having a tough time bla bla bla. thank him or her for working so wonderfully well. and promise that in future if things improve they will be the first to be called etc. that is a dignified way of telling people that their services are no longer needed.
do not say "U ARE FIRED " unless u want to be killed. can we follow the footsteps of our president? He prepared the letters, gave it to the PRO to give the ministers. Then travelled so that he won't see the crying face or be attacked by their looks. Other option: buy gift for them, put the letter in a beautifully crafted invitation envelope and serve the gooood meal. They will understand it is : hard way, the only way. |
