I,m not a big fan of Nigerian home videos, , hell no!!! i,m not even a small tiny fan of Nigerian home video. Most of the time I,ve had the misfortune of watching some of them I get nauseas after, So i,m looking at the movie list on a Virgin Atlantic flight( UK to USA, not lagos to UK) and I see about three Nigerian movies on the list, "ahn ahn How come?? from where to where??" were questions I asked myself, so i decide to try watching the beginning of one of them and I planned to skip to d end and watch another stupid ending as expected. I picked "letter to a stranger", believe me I sat through the whole movie without touching the skip button and i've never been this impressed by a naija movie. Directing by Fred Amata was a 9 out of 10 , story line was 8 out of 10, acting 8 out of 10.
You have to understand, i used to detest most naija movies, most of dem just didn,t make any sense,, u know when u watch a movie and u feel like u,ve just wasted 2hrs of ur life that u could have been doing something better with, dat was d wayt I always felt, But this movie was very impressive, I would recommend it for any one any day. In my books it is d best Nigerian movie i,ve seen.

If you want to or feel like you have to, do it right there right then after the interview before you leave! simply say " thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to interview with you or your company and I look forward to contributing to the growth or progress of this company" shikina! _{don't even look back when you walk not to talk of sending a thank you shit!}
If the interviewer believe you don't have shit to offer the company, a box of thank you card won't do crap not to talk of sending a text msg! send your phone sef if u want! nothing for you!

What is the point ?. If someone sent me a thank you note after attending an interview it would most certainly be disregarded. I am more interested in the persons perfomance at the interview and their suitability to the post they have applied for.

Always remember to thank who ever interviews you after the interview, for instance when the interview ends and before you leave the interview room and also if you are being escotred out to reception for example by a member of the interviewing panel repeat your thanks that should be enough.


Whenever I am interviewing I like to break the ice by using small talk to get a feel for the person, the nwe move on to the main business the interview itself afterwards I expect the interviewee to have questions as well this will show that they have done their research, and finally the exchange of plesantries e.t.c. No point no point in sending afterwards.

U seem 2 miss d point. Nobody is saying if a guy performs badly in an interview or if u already have someone u want for d job dat a thank u letter will change anything, But check out dis scenario, What happens if u narrow d list down to just 5 people who are all suitable for d job and all performed about d same way during d interview. If u u need just one person ,don,t u think u might just tilt towards dat one guy who wrote dat thank u note.

The way things work in naija!!?? imagine pple telling u a thank u letter is wrong. My advise for u is send a thank u letter by mail(express nipost) should,nt cost much(about 500naira or less). Make it professional and use this nice cncord papers and envelopes. U can check templates on the internet and make it very brief, thank whoever interviewed u for taking the time of his busy schedule to see u on so so so day, Tell him what u enjoyed about what he told u about d company during d interview, be specific( i assume your interview was 2 sided i.e u also asked questions and didn,t just sit there just answering questions without turning d interview into a discussion.), tell him what else u like about d company and why u think u are suitable for d job, and end with u really hope u will be working with him in d near future.

U have to learn to be proactive, believe me if d letter doesn,t help, it definitely won,t hurt your chances. U never can say, if it comes down to choosing 1 more person and there are about 20 of u left with the same qualifications( connections i.e "man know man", grades, work experience, interview performance, etc) dat letter might just make u stand out, Since aboout 1 out of 1000 write thank you letters in naija, believe me d recipient of ur letter will be impressed.
