Mm. Really looks like ICES is now overwhelmed.
Why won't they? when we keep telling everyone to use them. WES is still better

I have DOB error on my waec certificate and I don't want it to conflict with the information in other documents. That's why I'm for alternative.
Ok then go ahead with ICES

What of IQAS, is it OK to use?
I heard those ones take their time too. ICES is less stressful, but it's their recent wait time that is a concern

I think the problem is WES waec verification and university transcript verification. You can be stuck on that for ages.
Truth is if one can find a way around this and get it fast, then WES receives them you're sure of your report in 20 days, but ICES now will get your docs and keep you for 10 to 12 whole weeks, and if there's an issue with your app, they won't even tell you till after the 10 to 12 weeks timeline has passed

U sure ICES is 5-6 weeks?? My transcript got to them NOV 22nd 2018 and up till now status never change
Be expecting to hear from them from next week or in two weeks time, then you'll know whether they accepted your docs or not

Lol....... ICES don cast.
Those guys aren't reliable anymore, WES is better and faster. I think we should stop referring people to use ICES

So, I have been following this thread as a guest but decided to share my timeline even though I am an inland (CEC) applicant and there's no particular thread for us; I know some of us (CEC applicants) lurk around here just to compare and contrast plus canadavisa forum isn't really my thing.

Hey,

Pls, I need your advice on what next to do.

Do you guys think I should still go ahead and send the WAEC result/Scratch card?

Attached are the screenshots of my account status.
From your screenshot, I think you're good to go. You won't be required to send your O' level credentials, and soon a completion date will be given

The ECA was ready November last year.
Nice! These days they're taking their time on review...Its no longer fast as people said it was, if I had continued with my spouse's WES by now, WES would have given her completion date sef. Its well sha.

Hi, any Canadian embassy or consulate worldwide can re-issue a Canadian passport after due checks. PR cards are issued centrally by only IRCC in Canada, hope this answers your question.
yeah thanks

They do accept statement of result, but it must be sent by the school.
Is that what ICES told you? Did you use ICES and they demanded your school should send statement of results themselves?

Hello..... Please I will want to know if my institution can send soft copy of my transcript to ICES through their official email? And is it necessary to send my neco result with pin card to ICES for evaluation..... Thank you for your kind response....
Is it a secondary school evaluation? If no, then no need to send any NECO results. Plus ICES accepts transcript sent via school's official email address.

Lots of oil workers actually send their family over but stay on working from their base in Nigeria. When I lived in Calgary, the breadwinners of 2 families in my neighbourhood were oil workers still employed in Nigeria. They often visit their family in Calgary when they get a break from work. One of my bigger bros from uni also did not resign his job as a geotech in an oil servicing firm in Nigeria. He left his family back in Canada too. I do not know how much senior oil workers are paid back home, but I am guessing it's a lot since their wives here do not work, they own their homes and kids attend private schools in Canada.

Most techs/engr in the oil industry usually travel out of Nigeria for job assignments anyway. They could be in Brazil or Venezuela today, then off to Angola or Gabon the following week. It makes sense to leave the family in a safer country while they still progress with their career. They stay employed this way while still taking advantage of the safety net in Canada.
some earn as much as 16k American dollars a month after tax. A directional driller earns as much as $500 to $1000 a day as rig allowance depending on the company and location of the job.

Maybe outside Lagos shaa.
lol Lagos is a no go area, even on 1million a month, it's tasking..It's an expensive and stressful city I must confess, especially if you live on the island.

I'm using the context of him living alone, like being a bachelor.. He wants to even move to Canada alone, while his family will be in 9ja until he sponsors them, that's like even spending more on $15/hr
